Clear water and you can go fishing if you are on a boat hire. Bring some proper stones beach shoes as it looks white in the photo but it hurts in the feet
I went on May 6, 2025. Got my reservation for the day online on Heart of Sardinia. Trek was not too long, people from all ages were on the trail. Most of the descent/ ascent is near the beach. Many people there that day but not overcrowded. Definitely have to bring your own water and food. This beach lives up to the hype, it’s amazing! Air temperature was high 70s/ low 80s, topping out at about 87 degrees with a few clouds. Clouds came in the afternoon and it rained for half an hour. I got rained on, on the way back. Water temperature was cool but many people swam in the ocean comfortably. I brought my own snorkel mask and enjoyed the variety of fish in the water.
Beautiful beach! Make sure to book online in advance. Ticket is €7. Entrance between 7:30 am and 2 pm. Proper shoes needed, trail is not easy (3,5 km ~1,5 h one way). Free parking.
Always wanted to go this beach - this year managed. Honestly it's very crowded and looks better from the boat than from the beach. The water is also "sandy" - there is beaches with more clear water! Even not far from it
Absolutely incredible, great back drop for photos from the boat, too bad you couldn’t go to the beach. Glad we went!
WOW. Clear waters, white sand - something alot of people can only dream of. It was an amazing experience and I can 100% recommend. It getting the reward for the most beautiful beach in the world is absolutely fair. I went swimming out far and I still could see the bottom of the sea. So so beautiful and amazing.
Beautiful tiny beach with insane water color. Parking: Su Pordettu camper parking lot Tickets: 7 eur pp, make sure you book your slot in advance, 250 people are allowed on the beach per day. The hike (4 km down hill, 4 km uphill, 500 m elevation gain) - downhill is already quite challenging (1,5 hours), the terrain is rocky, partially in shade. Go early, trail open from 7:30. - the hike back after a few hours on the sun and in the water is tough. Do not underestimate. Make sure to bring enough water and food for the whole day, there is nothing on the beach. Be prepared for the heat! It is worth the effort!
An absolute dream of a beach, the most beautiful in Sardinia. I recommend visiting the beach via the hiking trail and starting as early as possible. You should buy the ticket three days in advance using the Heart of Sardinia app or website. We set off at 8 a.m. and arrived at the beach shortly after 9 a.m. At that time of day there were hardly any visitors. At around 11 a.m. the beach gets busier, and soon it is so busy that space becomes tight. The return journey took us two hours, taking regular breaks and walking at a leisurely pace. The return journey is strenuous but absolutely doable; large trees provide plenty of shade at regular intervals and a pleasant temperature for a short breather. You should bring at least 2 liters of water per person.

This place has clear water and beautiful views. We came in the beginning of May, water is still cold. But when you will see this you will want to get in. Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful. Little advise get the small boat, not the cruise.
Very beautiful beach with unique landscape and cows at the back of the beach. I really disappointed that didn’t visit the caves but hopefully next time. Overall highly recommended to visit!!
Amazing beach! It’s crowded because of the boat tours but you can cross to the caves where it’s much better
Walked to the beach some years ago- this year only seen from boat. It's a wonderful one, but crowded. Long. The caves are impressive - and the back part is lovely too!
It's not the easiest place to reach — you either hike for a couple of hours or take a boat (30 euro)— but it’s 100% worth it. The beach itself is stunning: soft sand, clear turquoise water, and big caves right along the shore that give you shade when the sun gets too strong. The view looks like a postcard, but real. No loud crowds, just nature and peace.
What an experience! The views of the beach and caves are amazing, the rock formations are incredible, great for some pictures!
We paid €60 per person to reach Cala Luna by a large boat — and while the price is on the higher side, the destination itself is definitely worth the trip. The water is crystal clear and incredibly inviting, perfect for swimming and relaxing. However, the experience is slightly spoiled by the condition of the beach cave walls — they’re covered in scratches and graffiti, which takes away from the natural beauty of the place. It’s unfortunate that such a stunning spot hasn’t been better preserved. The beach was also quite crowded, which made it feel less like a hidden gem and more like a tourist hotspot. Still, if you manage to come early in the day or off-season, you might catch it at its best. Cala Luna has amazing potential, and with a bit more care and fewer people, it could easily be one of the most magical places in Sardinia.
Cala Luna — a slice of paradise in Sardinia! We visited Cala Luna by taking an excursion boat for €100, but you can easily join a group tour from Cala Gonone for just €35, which takes you directly to one of the island’s most breathtaking beaches. It’s best to go in the morning, as it gets quite crowded after midday. With crystal-clear water and impressive natural caves that offer shade, it’s the perfect place to relax. Cala Luna still feels wild and untouched, yet it’s surprisingly easy to reach. An ideal spot for swimming, chilling, and taking postcard-worthy photos. A must-visit!

Excellent service and amazing boat tour! We booked a full-day trip on the Federica and it was a highlight of our trip in Sardinia. The crew ensured that we are looked after from the beginning till the end. Appetiser, lunch (seafood or vegetarian), desert, wine and water were included together with umbrellas provided for the beaches. We had plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful beaches with crystal clear and turquoise water, which would be difficult to access without a boat. Admiring the beauty of the Gulf of Orosei from a boat is definitely worth it. We strongly recommend them and you will be in the best hands!
We really liked the trip. The crew was friendly and the food was very good. The beaches were super beautifulIt and there weren’t many people on the boat. It was a fantastic experience. Highly recommended.
WOW! ⭐️ Was recommended this company by our Airbnb host. They picked us up and dropped us off in front of the charter. We were on the Livenza and it was a perfect size for everyone. We ended up not getting a spot up top & sat below at a table in the back and it was still wonderful. Hit 3 beaches, a cave, had lunch in a bay and finished off the day by swimming in waters of Cala Goloritzé (since it’s only reachable by swimming to the beach or a loooooong hike). Umbrellas were provided as well! After each time we got on the charter to head to the next beach, they had snacks & drinks waiting for us! The lunch was amazing - I opted for the pasta while my mom went for the traditional Sardinian dish. It was also my birthday so they gave me a birthday sorbetto!! Had the opportunity to head into a cave for 44 minutes for 10 euros, I think it was worth it to cool down a little from the very hot day! Crew was amazing as well! Really sweet. Pictures don’t do this coast justice, really just in awe the whole time. Book with them! I had a hard time finding a boat tour that provided a lunch & snacks. This company knocked it out of the park.
We enjoyed the boat trip in the Gulf of Orosei. We visited several stunning natural beaches but expect crowds of people as many boats are coming constantly. We also visited the Cave of Fico which is worth of 10€ adult/€5 kids. The snack and lunch served on board were tasty, wine and fruits included. Frederica crew was friendly and helpful.
Very good experience. The prices are the best we found in the area. They also offered food and a very good and exceptional program
Nice boatstrip along the rugged coast with a couple stops on some white beaches, only reachable by boat. Good 2 course food on the boat for lunch. In between they got some beverages and some snacks. Also cave tour on the end. But do bring some extra water or drinks for on the beaches.
We booked a trip for 13 adults (€75) and for 13 children (€65) We were told that there wouldn’t be many more passengers than the 26 in our party, but there were actually around 50-60 passengers, so the boat seemed quite packed. We visited lots and coves and stopped at some stunning beaches, which are only reachable by boat, although some were quite busy. Lunch was included and was fantastic. Fregola (Sardinian pasta) with Frutta di Mare (seafood) and Gamberoni (shrimps), all cooked from scratch by the team on board. The boat also stops at the ‘Grotta del Fico’ caves for those who fancy exploring. For those who just preferred to lie on the beach, the boat duly stopped to let passengers off. A really great day out. To see a glossy film of our 'Sardinian Boating Adventure’, plus many other great films. Great service on board of the Livenza boat. Snacks, water, umbrellas (highly appreciated), lunch with some dessert and digestive liquor mirto and great calas. Must do if you are in town. We went to Cala Mariolu, Cala Gabbiani, Grotta del Fico and Cala Biriala. On our way back, a great surprise (don’t want to spoil you)

Very nica cave Very big and amazing and impressive You can see stalagmites and stalactites You can see fresh water The tout is very nice and the path is well arranged and well lit
The guided tour in Grotta del Fico was impressive. The cave itself is beautiful, with stunning rock formations and a well-maintained path. However, the tour had a noticeable imbalance in language—while the guide provided detailed explanations in Italian, the English version was significantly shorter. It would have been more enjoyable if the information in both languages were equally detailed. Nonetheless, the experience was worth it, especially for those interested in geology and nature.
Very interesting cave… But with the group of 50 people where tour guide speaks in Italian and English it lasts more than 45 minutes for a tour that shouldn’t take longer than 20min. Temperature inside is 15-18 degrees which can be unpleasant if you are coming wet.
Unaware that we needed to wait for a guide, we started walking and 5 minutes later we saw the guide and join the group, we were asked to leave the group and wait another guide at the entrance. But the cave is pretty and if you didn’t saw any cave in Sardinia it may be worth the visit but 10€ is a bit much
Went to the cave on a stop from our boat tour! Wanted to beat the heat so we went! 10 euros to enter. There are stairs to enter the cave but the view you get is unbelieveable. The tour guided spoke English for us, which was very appreciated. He was very knowledgeable & we learned a lot! Lots of history and things we learned about the island (monk seals, no earthquakes, limestone, etc)! The cave is very well preserved and really interesting. Gets really slippery so careful with those flip flops! Overall, cool learning piece we didn't expect on our boat tour!
I’ve travelled a lot and had never seen something quite this amazing and well preserved. The entrance is beautiful but the treasures inside are amazing. My favorite thing about it is the subterranean river. Though you can’t access everything the place has to offer it’s definitely something worth seeing. Also the temperature offers a break from the hot Sardinian summer. So overall great experience.
This is a must for every tourists going on a boat trip. This is a very well organised place where you will be given mobile phones devices providing information in different languages about the history of the cave. There is about half a kilometre of walking to do inside the cave, the whole tour lasts about 45 minutes and you can go by yourself to explore in your own time.
We were in cruise with mostly Spanish speaking people so for visiting the cave we split for English talking group and Spanish but after this the guide realized that in English group is like few person so we have to just split in half .. our trip took longer cause guide has to talk in 2 languages. Of course is not to see but it's not soo impressive;)

Very nice trip (we chose linea rossa) with a small ferry (motonave bon voyage). Besides the classical stops in wonderful beaches we entered the small fjord of Porto Cuau.
We took a trip with MareOgliastra Lines along the east coast of Sardinia — the route was absolutely stunning. We visited Cala Goloritzé, Cala Luna, and many other beautiful spots. The weather was perfect — not too hot, not too cold — and the photos turned out amazing. We had around two hours at each beach, which was more than enough to explore and enjoy the scenery. The downside was that the captain only spoke Italian, so it was hard to understand anything if you don’t speak the language. It would be great to have at least some basic information in English. They also offered diving on board, which we declined. The woman in charge of that looked rather unkempt (including noticeably hairy legs), which was a bit off-putting, although everything else was fine. Overall, we had a positive experience — the trip was well organized and the nature was breathtaking. With a little more attention to international tourists, it would be perfect.
Lovely boat trip. We did the red line and went to the grotto de fico, which I would really recommend. We were confused and thought food was included. It’s not. Although there is a restaurant at one of the beach stops it’s not great and very slow service, so I’d recommend you take a picnic
Very nice trip. We did the red route and everything was great.
We couldn't fault this boat trip company. We chose them because they had vessels that offered cover and protection from the sun (as opposed to open dinghy's or ribs) as well being were able to bring our own picnic. We had the most wonderful full day boat trip out with them yesterday and it was worth every penny. The boat was spotlessly clean and not overcrowded, in fact we sat up on the open top deck with only 6 others and felt like we were on a private tour! The 3 beaches we visited (Cala Luna, Cala Sisine and Cala Mariolu) were lovely and we were given up to two hours on each which was plenty of time to swim, snorkel and sun bathe. The crew were friendly and chatty and professional. Really impressed and would recommend.
Today had a wonderful trip with the best beaches ever seen in Europe.
Every recommendation for this boat excursion. Highlights of Baunei coast, visit to the cave. Beautifully spent day.
(Translated by Google) We chose MareOgliastra Lines to explore the beautiful eastern coast of Sardinia and the experience was truly memorable! We left from Santa Maria Navarrese with the Linea Rossa itinerary, which includes three beach stops: Cala Mariolu, Cala Sisine and Cala Luna. The navigation along the coast of Baunei is spectacular: between majestic cliffs, dreamy coves and crystal clear waters, the landscape is breathtaking. In the most iconic spots - such as Cala Goloritzé, the Piscine di Venere and Pedra Longa - the motor vessel slows down specifically to allow you to better enjoy the view and take photos. A great advantage is that the motor vessel docks directly on the beach: you get off comfortably on the sand, without having to enter the water. A detail that makes the excursion even more relaxing. The excursion is well organized and the staff is kind and helpful. On the official website you can find all the available routes and you can easily book online. An additional option offered during the tour we did was a visit to the Grotta del Fico (optional, with a supplement). We chose not to visit it because we knew it would take away a lot of the time planned for the stop at Cala Mariolu, the most beautiful beach on the itinerary. The stop there is about two hours, but the visit to the cave can last up to an hour and a half, leaving very little time to enjoy the sea. Practical tips: • Bring an umbrella and a cool bag with you: there are refreshment points on some beaches, but having a packed lunch will save you precious time. • Rock shoes are also very useful, given that the beaches mostly have pebble bottoms. They will allow you to enter the water in complete comfort. • If you decide to visit the Grotta del Fico, it may be useful to bring a light jacket (it can be cooler inside than outside) and closed shoes, to walk safely. In summary: Highly recommended! A well-structured excursion, breathtaking landscapes and a great way to discover some of the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia. In sintesi: Consigliatissima! Un’escursione ben strutturata, paesaggi mozzafiato e un’ottimo modo per scoprire alcune delle spiagge più belle della Sardegna.
