A big space for everyone! Quite big and interesting, my teenagers loved it. You can take your food and drinks with you, or order in fast food cafe.
I brought five kids over two different weekdays: one a textbook perfect hot summer day, and the other cloudy, moody, and sprinkled with morning rain - the kind that scares off more than half of the bookings. And let me tell you, my dear friends: that rainy, "don’t go" day was the best one. Fewer crowds, zero lines, no elbow fights for floaties - just pure water-slide bliss. If you’re reading this trying to decide when to go, here's your tip: go when the clouds show up. Trust me. A little drizzle never hurt anyone (you’re wet anyway), and it might just give you the best day of your vacation. Now, spoiler alert: as an overgrown, oversized, and fully aged-up kid, I may have caused a few joyful physics experiments on the slides - the kind involving mass, acceleration, viscosity, and splash radius. You don’t need a science degree to understand it, but a little imagination helps. And no, I wasn’t the only adult re-living childhood at 40 km/h in a double tube. It was glorious. The place is stacked with attractions: high-speed slides, gentle splash zones, float rivers, inflatable madness, and "non-sliding" water features for lazy retirees. There’s something for everyone - whether you're five or fifty-five. You won’t need many words once you scroll through the photos and videos here. The smiles say it all. But something else deserves the five stars: the staff and management. Even though many of them are young, seasonal, probably not trained at hospitality schools, they are genuinely kind, helpful, present, and make everything feel smooth and safe. No forced smiles. Just good people making your day better. That counts. Now - kids don’t write reviews. And if they did, they wouldn’t care about the next bit. But if you’re still reading, wondering "Is it worth it?" - stop. It absolutely is. Book it. Pray for light rain A few gentle tips for the management (from the adult who pays for the tickets): Even though the food is decent, it feels like it’s not. A little love in presentation, a friendlier ordering process, and some signage showing where other food options are (without a scavenger hunt) would go a long way. And while the kids are here for splashing, I’m here for flavor. Give us something a little special too - maybe a grill corner, a salad bar with real forks, or just one item that says: Hey adult, we see you! Still - bravo. You’ve built something joyful. We’ll be back. Possibly wetter, possibly louder, definitely happier.
We visited Istralandija on a Tuesday in September during the off season and had a wonderful time. The park is very clean and offers a wide variety of water slides. Since it was a cloudy day and not peak season, there were very few people which made the experience even better. The slides include popular types such as rocket, free fall, and the more intense ones often called back breakers, along with fun rides that use float
We visited Istralandia with our two small children (4 years old and 4 months old). Unfortunately, a neighboring sun umbrella—left unattended—was blown over by the wind and hit my wife. One of its exposed metal rods broke loose and left a mark on her leg. Immediately after it happened, we called a nearby staff member for help, but he reacted angrily and pushed the umbrella about 20 cm aside with visible frustration on his face before walking away. Because of this, we asked to speak with the manager, Danijel Lucic. Unfortunately, his response was arrogant and dismissive. He said that “he can’t control the weather” and refused to replace the dangerous umbrella. Additionally, some umbrella bases appear to be too small, making the umbrellas unstable even in light wind. We noticed this happening with several other guests’ umbrellas as well. This kind of attitude and lack of preventive safety measures is unacceptable in a family-friendly water park. Safety should always come first—especially with so many small children around. We expected more responsibility and care from the management. Sadly, we’re disappointed with how the situation was handled.
Went on a grey afternoon & pretty much had park to ourselves! Kids were done in just over 2 hours! They loved it! But why charge €3 on top of the hefty entrance fee for parking, & then another €6 for a locker!!
Very nice water Park.clean area but dirty bathrooms.the Changing cabins outside were smelling strong Urin There was no waiting Que at the entry even though we were there on Sunday The food Price and variety was really Ok At the entry they Charge 9€ for bed and umbrella and 3€ for Parking which is absolutely unnecessary as the Parking is open for all and there is no Control if you have Ticket or no and same as Beds ,they were many beds Occupied without Ticket and no body was Controlling it . In total we had a great time and we will definitely visit again.
I visited a year later and I am changing to 5 stars. The food is still water park food, but new items and better quality. The park is really clean. The new grassed area is fantastic also. Bring towels and remember no cash. Excellent place to visit …………….. The water slides are great. The seating is average, lots of umbrellas that don’t work and generally not that well kept. The food is edible but best avoided. Bring a credit card as no cash can be used inside.
Nice for kids! There is a pirate-themed area for younger kids, a s well as pools. For older (higher ones) there are plenty of water chutes and slides. The food is of the average amusement park variety and quality. Picnic areas and gazebos are available, lots of shade on one side of the park

Nice looking church from the outside however there is a dangerous step to the right of it which caused my mum to fall and break her foot while on holiday. Please everyone be aware and careful of this!!! So so dangerous. We were told by nearby restaurant staff that it happens a lot but nothing has been done to prevent it.
Nice church, closed between 13:00 and 17:00 for siesta.
tower: 15 k / pers.
(Translated by Google) The church itself is neither too big nor too small, decorated in a nice and modest way. The crypt is right behind the altar with the former tomb of Saint Pelagius and his relics (as well as relics of other saints). Many thanks to Mr. Ivan for the hospitality and the great conversation :). It is worth visiting the church if you are passing by.

Great place to grab a bite to eat, a cold beer or that iconic family photo x
Interesting place in Novigrad. A modern building, managed by local young creative people. The surrounding little park completes this cultural and eclectic area.
Go to the top of the tower for great views of Novigrad. Wish they would remove the metal fence at the top so people can take pictures.
Modern and nice museum/galery in the hart of Novigrad. Not big but very nice.

Hostel is basic, rooms are clean n spatious. The staff is helpful and easy going. The beach is excellent. Exceptionally attractive stone plateaus with plenty pine trees shadow. Definitely a gem.
The "renovated" rooms could not be less renovated! The room that we paid for had humidity all over the place and of course we asked to stay in a different one! We compared a renovated room to one that was not and we couldn't spot any differences so you end up paying more for the same thing. The only good thing was the spot, you wake up in the morning and go directly to the sea.
It's a mixed bag, really depends on guests that are staying during your stay; usually there are kids involved which can be loud but also some guests tend to talk or laugh loudly. Since the walls are thin... As far as rooms are concerned, it's an old children camp so expect bare minimum. That means bed, sheets, place to leave your stuff...toilettes and showers are shared and you also share kitchen with all guests. Furniture is old and the rooms aren't really clean. If you run tight budget, it's fine. If you visit with children, they'll make new friends. There is plenty of parking space, there are sport courts outside (beach volleyball, basketball, football). Wi-fi which is important to most is quite slow and doesn't reach all rooms...related, the whole area doesn't have strong mobile signal so don't expect to manage on your own. 🥳 On positive side, it'll take off your youthlings off the screen. 😁 Also, you don't get towels but I think there is an option to pay for them as an extra. Nature is beautiful but be aware that enterance to sea is quite pebbely...buying shoes is a MUST! I learned it the hard way...one enterance costed me 3 cuts on my feet and one half-deep on my finger. Most importan thing I've remembered to add; managment of establishment has absolutley zero interest in forcing rules of conduct so you can expect people shouting, screeming, singing, playing their speakers in the middle of the night, drinking infront of reception...anything goes.
old children's home turned into a hostel. very nice staff. the outdoor area is great as its sorroundes by trees and located directly at the sea. great place to relax. free parking is available.
Wi-Fi working only a couple of meters near reception. Hot water in the evening is a miracle. No sound isolation, slamming doors, noisy neighbours, drunken talks behind the wall and under the window till midnight, children screaming and smoke from cigarettes from 5 am, smells from the kitchen in the room after 16pm. Dirty rooms, old furniture, dirty and damaged shower cabins. No free electric socket in the washing room, only 1 socket in the room. No free space in the public fridge. If you like post Soviet Union camps it is the correct place for you. Otherwise try to avoid it!
More than traveling on a budget...I guess the most interesting part besides being a retreat in one of the most wonderful places along the coast it is also a retreat for youngsters with special needs and therefor a place with authentic and real people. The kids are super friendly and i wish i could have dedicated my knowledge towards their needs rather than serving the corporate sea of recycled visions. It truly was a place full of substance. Not for the typical tourist nor for the social condemned ones looking for an escape. This is a place where you find yourself or get inspired by the purpose others have found. Thank you Robert for having us.
Beautiful hostel ideal for families with children, school in nature projects (wonderful Slovenian teachers lead them), students traveling on the budget and everyone who seeks peaceful nature, next to the sea in pine woods and authentic Istria's oak woods. I had wonderful experience meeting the Slovenian doctor lady who there takes care of all emergencies with very kind nurse, I felt very safe that I could count on medical help. The sea is very warm, ideal for swimming in the afternoon. Even if it rains during the night, sea doesn't get cold, it's amazing! Management and reception staff is very professional, kind and helpful. In general, the whole Croatian and Slovenian staff make a great team, I was touched how they all cared for us. Next to the hostel there are few playgrounds for children, market, ice-cream places, and little bus that looks like train which connects hostel with Novigrad and few camps so you can have wonderful trips. Air is fresh, ideal for anyone with respiratory problems, after one week, you already feel revived. There are basketball on concrete and volleyball on sand fields. There is a free parking for guests under grape-trees. There's a restaurant with breakfast, lunch and dinner, with big vegetable buffet and home cooked meals, with very kind and caring staff. One morning a small sea medusa touched my skin and they gave me - simply - tomato, which neutralized it and my skin was saved in 10 minutes :) Our bathroom was new and very tidy, there was always paper and soap, hostel is in general very clean. I am impressed that such untouched, simple and warm place still exists in Croatia. Everything is modest, simple and comes with smile. I wish I was born as Slovenian child who had the opportunity to come here in summer school.
A good place to find cheap and spontaneously shelter. I recommend the breakfast. Typical youth hostel, so be aware of noise, thin walls and old bunk beds!

We are happy to return and visit Novigrad because it is an exceptionally beautiful and well-decorated town. Its rich history makes it more attractive and interesting. Among other things, its beauty is made up of city walls, which are well preserved. The historic core of the city was completely surrounded by walls. Entering the Venetian possession of the city, in the 13th century, rack walls are erected on the late antique remains. As an ancient antique city, once again at the very edge of Celtic migration, Novigrad has been at the crossroads of the bustling historical events during its history. During its turbulent history often fell into the hands of various invaders, attacked by land and sea, but also with the devastations of plague, the greatest threat of the Middle Ages, which on several occasions almost killed the entire population. During the summer months concerts are taking place and the city is crowded with people. The atmosphere is always great.
It was a low tide. Little bit windy late afternoon and not so many people. Wonderful architecture of old town. Winter time. Recommended.
Very nice walk around the city walls.
(Translated by Google) Nice little town with small streets, some ice cream parlors and even more restaurants. Some right by the sea, a fantastic place to dine with the sound of the sea. Paid parking spaces all around. Worth a trip.
(Translated by Google) Despite the name the city has, it is not a newly established town. "Civitas Novum" was already heard in antiquity, but in the Middle Ages it flourished, even despite the constant change of the sphere of influence (Byzantine Empire, Roman Empire, Republic of Venice). Fragments of the defensive walls from that period have still been preserved, while all buildings inside the city were rebuilt in the Venetian Gothic style. Currently, it is a town supported mainly by tourism and all services directly related to it. A beautiful, small town that is definitely worth visiting while on the Italian-Slovenian-Croatian peninsula of Istria.
(Translated by Google) Contrary to its name, Novigrad (Cittanova), i.e. New Town, is not so new, as it is mentioned in documents as early as the end of the 6th century, although it was still called Emonia, which was built on the remains of a Roman settlement that was established on the site of a Greek colony. The historic city is located on the former island, the prestigious, partisan city walls have largely survived from the coast. In the summer, it is difficult to find a place in the parking lots in front of the old town, there are no free spaces, we drove around for at least a quarter of an hour until we found small paid parking lots in front of the shopping stores beyond the harbor, a 15-minute walk away. Despite this small difficulty, it is worth visiting this beautiful, cozy town. (Original) Novigrad (Cittanova), azaz Újváros, nevével ellentétben nem is annyira új, hiszen már a 6. század végén említik dokumentumok, igaz akkor még Emonia néven, mely egy görög kolónia helyén létrejött római település maradványaira épült. A történelmi város, a hajdani szigeten fekszik, a tengerpart felől nagy részben fenn maradtak a tekintélyes, pártázatos városfalak. Nyáron az óváros előtti parkolókban nehéz helyet találni, nincsenek szabad helyek, legalább negyedórát forgolódtunk ameddig a kikötőn túl, 15 percnyi sétára levő bevásárló üzletek előtt kaptunk kis fizetős parkolókat. Ez a kis nehézség ellenére érdemes meglátogatni ezt a szép, hangulatos városkát.
