Lovely visit today. Walk around the park then went into the Mill. All free. Went via train from Skipton. David Hockney exhibition. Quiet coffee on 3rd floor but bit a big range of food. Cafe on L2 busy and food looked good. All Terrain cycles were very friendly.
Great day out in all weather. Lots to see and do. Had little trouble parking. Gallery & mill shops to enjoy. Small village with some nice shops, inc a bakery & arts and crafts. If you want to be outside, large beautiful clean park to stroll around in pathed walkways. Riverside pub/bistro to enjoy refreshments serving nice food & beer on tap. Nip up to the tramway for a little bit of historical cheap fun, very well run by hardworking & passionate volenteers.
I had a fabulous day. The art by Hockney is astounding. The exhibit showing his process was especially fascinating. We ate in the diner. Twas a lovely meal and the staff nicely attentive. Free parking, free art by premier artists, a fabulous building in wonderful surroundings. Great use of an old building. What's not to love?
My favourite place in Yorkshire! I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and still love it now. Great selection of shops, art, restaurants! Really well looked after building and I can spend hours in here!
A fascinating historic mill that has been transformed into a vibrant hub for arts, culture, dining, and community life. It’s best known for its impressive collection of David Hockney’s work, which alone makes it worth a visit. Alongside the art, you’ll find excellent dining options, engaging displays on the mill’s history, and insights into the surrounding village. With ample parking and so much to see and do, it’s an ideal place to spend the day.
Incredible place, We Will Sing is amazing and is highly recommend a visit just for this, I really wish I could buy a vinyl album of the recording it was breathtaking. But there are also wonderful shops with books, stationery etc. Quite a few eating options, the carrot cake in the upper cafe is heavenly! And of course the artwork is fantastic. Very highly recommend!
Loved this old industrial building, wonderfully preserved. Went to the free Hockney exhibition and perused the gallery upstairs and bolt on antique store. It looked like a great cafe in the place too. All in a beautiful part of the world. What a great place to walk around Saltaire is.
I hadn’t been to Salts Mill for a few years so it was lovely to be able to visit on Friday before we did the Shipley to Bingley 5 Rise Locks walk. The building itself is huge and very impressive then every door has so much to offer. There’s a lovely relaxed feeling throughout the building with staff and visitors enjoying the environment. We had a brief look at the seconds floor but then headed up to the third floor to have coffee in the Opera cafe. This is also the location of the David Hockney Gallery and it really works! I have seen Hockney’s work displayed in other venues less successfully but the sheer amount of space here was perfect to display the larger pieces. Our coffee and cakes were delicious and set us up nicely for our walk. I’ll definitely be coming back to spend more time in Saltaire and Salts Mill. Highly recommended!

I’ve been wanting to try a British sausage roll for a while and finally found a vegetarian one here at this bakery. It tasted great as well! The bakery is small and charming located closed to the Salt Mill of the city offering a varieties of sweets and treats with cream like colors and fitting decor. A nice stop before our day trip started.
This was a solid bakery to grab lunch, with the options presented clearly at the counter! Staff were approachable and very welcoming when I put in a donation, service was fast too. I enjoyed the unique chicken curry pasty and a couple of hash browns served on a red plate, seating is comfortable and table kept smooth!
I was shocked and appalled at the eat in vs take away prices. And no mention of the grossly inflated prices by the till staff. Granted, I should have paid more attention, but it’s clear underhanded ethics. Also granted, its not a terrible place to get takeaway if you don’t sit down, but it was probably the worst value meal I’ve ever had anywhere in the world. The tea and hot chocolate was terrible too. Conned and ripped off
Called in for a coffee and a Hot Sandwich. £1.50 extra for tomatoes on a large bacon sandwich which wasn't no where near a flat cake. Coffee ok, but only luke warm. Was told by the lovely member of staff it would cost extra to eat in, (ok i can understand that) BUT £4.90 EXTRA FOR 2 OF US IS SHOCKING. They need to put eat in prices at side of other prices. The Sandwiches were really nice, but hiding how much they charge for eating in. Wont be going back. 🤬🤬
I love this place! The staff are always friendly and chatty and they make the best cheese sandwich in the land! Not stingy with the fillings either , very generous and you get a bowl of crisps. Their hot chocolate is 10 out of 10 with lots of whipped cream on top and marshmallows if requested ( although I'm vegetarian so I just have with the cream).
Don’t get the positive reviews for this place. Was passing through and bought a few items. The iced doughnut was super salty and not sweet, the chocolate eclair was rock hard, the cappuccino tastes like a latte, and the croissants were super doughy. It was early in the morning so there’s that, but not a great reason. Nice location that’s about it.
Nice sausage roll in a local bakery thronging with customers. Bit pricey mind. Better than Greggs I guess.
Great bakery with lots if choices. We shared a hot beef & red onion sandwich with mustard mayo & a steak bake with a dessert cream meringue enough for 2 people at £10.00 super value and great quality.

This is our country at its best. Volunteers running a beautiful tramway for the pleasure and enjoyment of others. It’s not brash, expensive, commercial. It is a small friendly enterprise that I am sure gives huge pleasure to many people. I loved it. It was a few minutes each way of the joy of nature and the bluntest running it were super lovely.
What a great attraction, the volunteers that run this place should be proud as punch. All very friendly and professional, very inexpensive. Well done all involved.
What a wonderful place!, staff were so friendly and helpful, the ride up and down was fabulous, and the price even better, parking just outside was easy, and what a wonderful gift shop!. A must for every funicular lover!
Unfortunately it was closed for a Monday but used it before and is a historic way to climb the hill. Well kept path to the side for an alternative way to the top🙂👍.
This was a fantastic attraction to ride, with cheap journey tickets and staff readily available to buy them! The tram is pulled up a glorious route driverless through the trees which has Christmas lights during winter, accompanied by decorations like a vintage wheelbarrow on the platforms. Last station has a mini exhibition showing the history of the tramway that was interesting, even shown with an old sign as the Tram Stop!
Went to the Santa Special today - excellent. Friendly staff, enjoyable ride on the tram. Santa friendly and engaging, elves helpful. Great value and all run by volunteers. Our three grandsons were really excited to see Santa and they loved going there and back on the tram. Excellent experience thank you everyone.
Lovely day visiting the tramway. One way was 50p for over 4 years olds and £1.50 per adult. It takes you to the top and you can walk along across Shipley Glen which is a lovely walk. There is a tea room and a public house with ice cream vans around to help encourage young ones. Afterwards we walked down the hill past the tramway and visited Roberts Park which is a lovely large park with a play area for children. There was also a new train in the park.
Fantastic little tramway. The staff were all so lovely and made my sons day. The day tickets are inexpencive and unlimited, so you can ride up and down a few times. The tramway itself is not big enough to fill the whole afternoon, but Roberts park across the road from the car park is lovely and has a cafe and play park. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip here and will be back again soon.

Lovely park, really well kept and absolutely stunning surroundings. Brilliant childrens play area with sand, boat, zip wire and more. Canal with ice cream boat, lovely walk, historical features and plenty of picnic space. There is also a lovely pub and restaurant to have a spot of lunch or Sunday dinner, with scenic views and cafe. Lots of places to play ball games or just sit in the sun. Road train rides (cash only) £3pp. Highly recommended family park.
Lovely park, very clean, sandy play area etc, large cricket field, walks along the river, flowered gardens area, bandstand, cafe, small parking area but also quiet on road parking nearby. I’ll defo be back 😍
Lovely park with a large flat field, which is ideal for family picnics and children to play games. Also has a nice garden area, children's play area and path by the river. Ideal for a relaxing walk and you can walk on the bridge which is over the river. Good location for the family and of course the village of Saltaire is just over the bridge. Photos are from the Dragon boat festival event.
Such a lovely place to visit with little ones. The park has lots of fun things in and there's usually an ice cream van outside too. The parks and open spaces are really nice to walk round too.
Really enjoyed taking a trip on the land train here and catching the cricket match being on was an added bonus as well. Cool statues of alpacas, cannons and Titus Salt as well. Just keep away from the bottom end of the park where the covered seating area is, as this was not only a litter magnet but it was where the yobs hang out playing loud music and lightning fires for some reason.
A great place just to chill out and relax on the banks of the River Aire. Across the river bridge from the park, is the beautiful historic village of Saltaire. Also Salts Mill and the lovely United Reformed church, where Sir Titus Salt is buried. Saltaire railway station which is on the Airedale train line provides handy connections to the nearby Cities of Bradford and Leeds, along with connections to Keighley, Skipton and beyond. It is also possible to change trains at Shipley train station to connect with the Wharfedale train line for services to Baildon, Guiseley and Ilkley. You can also change at Keighley, for the Keighley and Worth Valley heritage steam railway. There is also the historical Shipley Glen Tramway on the other side of Roberts Park which runs upto Shipley Glen and Baildon Moor, and also nice walks to be enjoyed along the Leeds Liverpool canal which passes through Saltaire Village.
Lovely park. Play area could do with an update, but nothing wrong with it. Lovely walk, mostly flat. Very accessible for people with disabilities.
Love this park, so lovely & such a nice atmosphere

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had such a fantastic time at Kidzplay Shipley! The place is spotless, safe, and full of fun areas for children of all ages. The equipment is in great condition, and there’s plenty of seating for parents to relax while keeping an eye on the kids. The staff were so friendly and welcoming — they clearly care about creating a positive experience for families. The café has a lovely selection of drinks, snacks and food and everything came out fresh and quick. Highly recommend to any local families looking for a clean, friendly, and fun play space.
Very clean establishment, staff are very helpful and friendly. Some people may be put off by the entry price which is around £10 per child, however I feel this deters the riff raff. I thought the price of the burger & fries was expensive. Food well presented and tastes very nice. Noticed a some of the electronic equipment was not switched on,
First of all, for our situation it merits 2 stars.. we have a 10 month old. If he was 4+ it would be 4/5 stars. Let me explain.. Cost £8 entry (over double of all softplay places we've visited this month) Toddler area not really well maintained. Electric/sensory amusements weren't working. Would be really disappointed if they did work because as there were 3 toddlers on site when we arrived they should have been turned on. Found the older children play area quite large with nice features (race track, footballl area) and the older children there seemed to be enjoying themselves. Also didn't order any food as menu was quite basic and didn't like the fact that the Jacket potato didn't come with anything other than a side salad as standard. Will probably come back when he's older (if still in business) and another review then.
I had my daughter’s 5th birthday party on Sunday and it was amazing. From the food to the service, everything was spot on. The kids had so much fun. 100% recommend.
Attended a kids birthday party. Was well managed, clean, nice and big for the kids to run and explore. Food and drink was available for purchase at competitive prices. Air conditioning was also in place but being a large warehouse building it kept cool besides. Some parking is available on site but there is more on available on the main road just outside for free.
Kidzplay is absolutely brilliant! It’s bright, clean, and full of exciting areas for children to explore. My kids had an amazing time — there’s so much to keep them entertained, from slides and climbing frames to the toddler zone. The staff are always friendly, helpful, and make sure everything stays safe and tidy. The café is great too — lovely coffee, good food, and plenty of seating for parents to relax while the kids play. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into running this place. We’ll definitely be regular visitors — highly recommend Kidzplay for a fun, stress-free day out!
Kidzplay Shipley 15/11/25 2:30pm. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 This afternoon my 2 year old daughter found a mouse trap with poison in, IN THE PLAY AREA. It was handed to a member of staff and brushed over like nothing happened. The response was 'this has never happened before, this is the first time'. No apology, no concern and absolutely no intent to go and find the other traps around the soft play. I was told that they shouldn't have been accessed by the children, and they were well out of reach. Well they were, and Violet was about to inspect it. Imagine if there was a dead or decomposing rodent in there?! The poison could of killed my children if ingested. She refused to find the the health and safety policies, or the COSHH policy- I am told it will be sent over on Monday, along with a refund as it was 'too busy to do it now' I am absolutely disgusted by the attitude of the manager, and Health and Safety Bradford WILL be contacted as soon as they open on Monday, as will environmental health. I look forward to seeing the policies and will take GREAT pleasure reading the policy which states it is safe to poison in a children's play area.
Filthy, disgusting and most importantly mouse traps with POISON within toddlers reach! Absolutely disgusting!
