Very cool fort with great views. It was an extremely hot day so I highly recommend bringing a bottle of water with you and maybe even a small towel. 🥵There were 2 main levels and you could self guide yourself through it although they had a guided tour option. There was zero shade when you’re up on the top but you were able to see where they had the old firing cannons which was super cool. As you walk through each room they had plenty of artifacts and information which was helpful to understand. I felt that it was very well maintained and full of rich history! They do offer bathrooms inside as well.
In the heart of St. Augustine, Florida, a city steeped in history, the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument rises as a beacon of the past. Completed in 1695 after 23 years of painstaking labor that began in 1672, this breathtaking structure stands as a testament to Spanish ingenuity and determination. Originally conceived as a fortress to safeguard their treasures and secrets, its immaculate architecture commands attention, overlooking one of St. Augustine's most picturesque vistas. Though tours offer an immersive experience within its walls, even a glimpse from the exterior reveals the monument's unparalleled grandeur. Constructed from unique Coquina stone, the walls exhibit a mesmerizing mosaic of tiny shells, a strategic choice that proved impervious to English sieges. Today, the Castillo stands resolute, each piece of Coquina holding echoes of the past, while the land upon which it rests cradles everlasting memories along the bay. As visitors approach, they are transported back in time, captivated by the stories etched into every stone. The Castillo de San Marcos not only stands as a physical structure but also as a living narrative, preserving the legacy of those who built and defended it. Its enduring presence ensures that the tales of courage, strategy, and cultural heritage will continue to captivate and inspire generations to come.
This was an amazing experience, I enjoyed visiting the Castillo de San Marcos. The history here is incredible — it really feels like stepping back in time. The fort itself is beautiful, and the views of the water are awesome. The cannons were definitely my favorite part. It’s just one of those places that makes you appreciate how much history St. Augustine has to offer. Highly recommend it, go during the day and at night.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An incredible piece of history! The Castillo de San Marcos is absolutely breathtaking. The views of St. Augustine Bay are stunning, and the old Spanish stone walls make you feel like you’re stepping back in time. The park rangers do a great job explaining the fort’s history, and the cannon firing demonstrations are a must-see. It’s very well preserved, clean, and easy to explore at your own pace. Highly recommend bringing water and comfortable shoes — and take a moment to just enjoy the ocean breeze from the top walls. A perfect stop for history lovers, families, or anyone visiting St. Augustine!
Awesome experience! The fort has many places to explore and learn new things. I would recommend everyone visit. You can buy the tickets online or at the entrance. We bought ours at the entrance in minutes with very helpful and pleasant staff. There are multiple places to sit, rest and take in the magnificent views.
Very cool historic castle to tour! The top offers a great view of the water and surrounding area, plus old cannons you can check out. On the ground level there are multiple rooms to explore, each with interesting displays and information about the history of the fort. You can also see step-by-step demonstrations of how soldiers would load and fire the cannons as well as their muskets, which is really fascinating. The staff dressed in Spanish army costumes brought the place to life and made the whole experience feel even more authentic. Definitely worth visiting if you’re interested in history or just want to see something unique.
What a fabulous place to go with friends family or just to go for a visit on your own. Great for family with children as well. Lots of history to learn about. There's a small gift shop with really cute items. Because this is also a National Park if you have a park pass your entry is free. If you're military you'll also get in free and can bring a visitor with you at no extra cost.
The Castillo de San Marcos is always well worth the visit. The structure alone clearly articulates its history and its various functions from the 17th through the 20th centuries The grounds are well-maintained by the NPS and are excellent for walking. This fort is one of the many treasures that makes Saint Augustine the beautiful city that it is. To see the ancient walls lit up at night is breathtaking.

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Exceptional Stay at Old City House Inn & Restaurant – A True Gem in St. Augustine! We had an absolutely wonderful experience at the Old City House Inn & Restaurant during our recent trip to St. Augustine. From the moment we arrived late at night, the hospitality was top-notch. We called the number listed, and Mr. Juan answered promptly, greeting us within minutes and personally showing us to our room. It set such a warm and welcoming tone right away! The room itself was beautiful – charmingly decorated with thoughtful details, and the temperature was perfectly comfortable, making it easy to unwind after a long day of travel. We slept like babies! The next morning, we were treated to an awesome breakfast that exceeded all expectations. The food was delicious and freshly prepared, but what really stood out was the service from the staff – it was above and beyond, with everyone going out of their way to make us feel special and attended to. This place blows away any recognizable chain hotel we’ve stayed at; it’s got that personal touch and genuine care that’s so rare these days. If we ever return to St. Augustine (and we hope to soon!), the Old City House Inn & Restaurant is our go-to spot – no need to search for anything else. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a cozy, memorable stay with five-star service all around!
We had such a wonderful evening at the old city House restaurant. We were celebrating our anniversary on a Sunday evening and it was quiet, intimate, and the food was amazing! We started off with martinis and escargot, so freaking delicious, we were licking the plate! Then we had a salad with roasted garlic dressing, followed by crabcakes, and my husband had the pork chop. Everything was on point, perfectly cooked and so savory and delicious. Since we were celebrating our anniversary, the dessert was on the house and we chose the coconut cake! Perfect choice for us. It was a perfect ending to a delicious dinner. Our server Esteban was attentive and knowledgeable and made the evening a success. We will definitely be returning here when we come back to Saint Augustine. Absolutely love this place!
My husband and I booked a last minute 2 night vacation at this establishment. The location is perfect! Walking distance to many places. The room is obviously older but was clean, comfortable and had a nice size deck outside. The complimentary sit down breakfast was awesome !! Belgium waffles with fruit, eggs bacon, sausage, potatoes, coffee and juice options. During our stay, personal contact with the staff was limited, but the interactions we did have, they were professional and helpful. Very easy check in and check out....also, they are pet friendly!
Our 2nd time to dine here we had party of 15. Sat on patio absolutely perfect evening the setting with the lights food and service outstanding! The food is really good and the presentation is impressive! We will be back! We had the magic Hideaway show booked so we had to eat and run but I cannot express enough how nice an evening it was on their patio!
Iv seen old city house for years now and finally decided to give it a try. Went for date night. Romantic and charming atmosphere , beautiful landscaping and nice lighting. All of the staff was friendly and welcoming… Macknay our server was attentive and really nice... It was hard to pick because everything sounded so good !! We ordered the lamb chops, DELICIOUS. You can tell the kitchen and the staff at this restaurant really care and take pride in their work. Wine was spectacular too. Don’t sleep on old city house, looking forward to my next visit.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Old City House Inn & Restaurant. From the warm hospitality to the outstanding food and attentive service, everything exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect for exploring the city, and the inn itself is quaint, charming, and spotless. It was the perfect setting for a romantic evening, and we can’t wait to come back!
Great service from waiter Esteban , shrimp cocktail was very good as well as cheese and olive board. Chicken dish was 10/10, Filet 10/10 and they provided an anniversary dessert which was perfect. Esteban gave a large pour of Pinot noir. Service was perfect. Thank you!!!
Phenomenal location! Old Towne downtown. Beautifully appointed room. Everything matched the surroundings. Food was great, as was the coffee! Only drawback were the stairs.

What a great life…thank you St. Johns County..for our great local park w/such amazing history.
My husband and I were visiting St Augustine over winter and were lucky enough to find Coach Vita. We cannot recommend her enough, For background we both played for years in the very competitive (mean!) Long Island adult tennis leagues and we've both worked with various coaches. We both agree Vita is the best coach we've ever worked with. She will give you a real - and I mean real real - workout while making corrections, encouraging your effort and making sure you are also having some fun. As we head back north we wish we could take Coach Vita with us!
My daughter is not an athlete. She does not run at all. Before starting lessons with Coach Vita, we did not think we would ever find a sport for her. Through Coach Vita’s kindness and patience, my daughter has learned to love the sport of tennis. Vita knows when to push her and went to give her some time. She is incredible. Sometimes, Coach Bobby will be on a nearby court. It is not unusual for him to observe my daughter and give some pointers. It is during these times that we have two amazing coaches. Coach Vita and Coach Bobby work so well together.
My son has been through a few different sports until he came to tennis. I believe the coaching has a lot to do with it. Coach Vita is extremely patient. She talks through every hit and stance, but without it being too much. She critiques in such a gentle but effective way. She knows when to mix it up to keep him interested. He hasn't been playing even a year and the growth I have seen because if her is tremendous. I highly recommend.
Coach Vita is a pro tennis player. She relates so well to our daughter and keeps her progressing at such a great rate. Constantly creative, kind, but pushing our little tennis player. We lucked out in finding her. I played tennis (a long time Ago), and I can appreciate that Coach Vita’s skill and expertise are rare!
Coach Vita is fantastic. My kid has improved so much in such a short amount of time. Highly recommend St Augustine Tennis.
Love , love the coach and style of teaching tennis! Great for all ages and wonderful for children! Me and my children have played here for many year and love to go and compete with friends.
Great courts - all well maintained and ready for match play.

Expert guides tell the story of Jameson in a recreated distillery scene with tastings and dining.

It was incredible experience. Our tour guide was amazing. First you get free welcome drink - you have 3 options from Jameson (Jameson with lime and ginger is amazing). Then you go to first room, it’s about history of Jameson. Second room is about how to make Jameson and on third you learn about differences, how to smell and taste different Jamesons. With this guide, it was really amazing and I could stay longer than 45 minutes.
My wife and I took this tour on a Monday morning a few hours before our flight home and had a wonderful time. Our tour guide was very animated and obviously loved his job! Great tour through history all the way to current time. Definitely recommend this tour for any whiskey aficionados or anyone with just a taste for Jameson.
I paid about $26 for the Jameson Distillery tour and it was worth every penny. They start with a really cool 3D projector story about the history and how Jameson is made, then you move into a tasting room where you try four different Jamesons and learn how to properly smell and taste whiskey. It truly feels like a world-class experience. The premium ones were noticeably smoother (whiskey by itself definitely grows hair on your chest 😂), but it was fun, informative, and delicious. After the tasting, you get a drink included — they already have a bar set up with several cocktail options, and if you want another drink afterward you can buy more. The tour guide was incredible — funny, knowledgeable, and made it feel like he actually believed every part of the history. It was so good I found myself thinking, “Do y’all hire? I could work here too.” The staff overall was extremely friendly and helpful. They’ll even hold your bags if you’re coming straight from the airport like I was. There’s merchandise at the end if you want to shop, and the whole experience is just a lot of fun from start to finish. I would 100% come back and I’d tell anyone visiting Dublin to add this to their trip.
What an unforgettable experience at the Jameson Distillery! We opted for the Secret Whiskey Package and savored every moment. The tour was a delightful blend of history, craftsmanship, and fun, with fascinating insights into the company’s founder and the art of whiskey making. The highlight? Learning the skills of whiskey tasting, followed by a truly delicious sampling experience. Despite the bustling crowd of fellow travelers, the staff made us feel so special and welcome. We loved every minute and can’t wait to return!
Had a fantastic tasting tour on my second visit to this iconic Irish distillery. The guide’s deep knowledge and entertaining presentation made the experience memorable. It’s no wonder Jameson remains one of the world’s top selling whiskeys. Highly recommended!
Exactly everything you'd expect from a distillery tour. Great tour guide, samples of the whisky, and the best ambiance. All the employees were stellar and very nice to chat with. You can also purchase exclusive bottles you can't get anywhere else in the world.
This is one of the best distillery tour I’ve ever done! I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Dublin. Our tour guide was really informative and had a great demote of knowledge about the history of Jameson’s. I’m not usually a Whiskey drinker but after trying a Jamesons, Ginger Ale and Lime in the bar I am converted.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Jamison Distillery. I went with my husband and my daughter. It was very informative and quite interesting. There were several experiences during the tour. We tasted whiskeys that we hadn't tried before. Our new favorite one is Black Barrel. We've bought a bottle now that we're back home and have shared it with a neighbor. He is now a fan! I recommend going on this tour. It's fun, educational, and it even has a cute little shop inside.

We just love this weekly market and all of the artists and vendors! The live music is a bonus and the selection of fresh produce/veggies was amazing! 9-12 in the summer
We came to visit the farmers market for the first time. We enjoyed our experience but wished for more food/produce options. A lot of craft vendors which were worth the visit. Parking is really tough, we circled three times before getting a spot, it’s small so people are in and out quickly.
I will never return to this farmers market EVER! A vendor was harassing a veteran blessing the homeless vets for hours! The vendor had to be drunk or on something! He was using the F-Bomb over and over and still no one came! And no one came to speak or stop this vendor from his horrible behavior! This is not safe for families at all! This Market is not safe! St. Augustine has become a real over populated problem!
I spent a beautiful Wednesday morning strolling the market recently. There were two rows of vendors selling everything from jewelry and knick knack items to over priced vegetable vendors. I did enjoy an excellent tamale from one vendor and a great pineapple muffin from another vendor while.
Great selection of local foods and goods. Nice, genuine and friendly people here. We picked up some delicious apple pie jam and amazing sourdough bread from Hannah's Sourdough. We also picked up some phenomenal spinach artichoke garlic dip and pita chips from Friends Product. And last but not least, the kettle corn (sorry, cannot remember the vendor). Go for the chocolate corn, it is delicious.
I go there for the fresh veggies and fruit, awesome place for one of a kind handmade items also 😊
I went on Wednesday when they have their farmers market. Great market! Produce and different food to choose from and homemade arts and crafts are lovely, lots of talented people. Kids run around in a good sized water park and the beach is great for a stroll. People are very friendly. Market is from 8am-12:00pm
It was a great day for some sand between the toes!

Q&A about Saint Augustine Beach

We went to St. Augustine last minute so couldn’t find any reasonable priced hotels on the beach so stayed at the Courtyard across the beach. Check out the Embassy Suites which was right on the beach. The property was very nice from the beach.
