Great view into history of Napoleons wife. The chateau has quite a bit of history. The gardens are lovely. Unfortunately when I went in August 2025 there were many facades covering the home so it was a bit dark. You need 90 minutes inside

A small, managable castle inside Paris. It used to be the residence for Josephine, first wife of Napoleon Bonaparte. Lovely and interesting. Worth to have a walk in the yard among colourful flowers.

Amazing place, a historical palace surrounded by beautiful gardens and forest nearby. Especially we loved a picnic zone, for kids its best place to play, to retreat in nature.

The guides were all animated and passionate about this museum. A beautiful house with original furnishings, this is a "must see".

At least 2 big cheap car parks within 5 mins walk. Children free, adults €6.50 and you get audio guides which is useful as most info is in French. The house is covered in scaffolding and the gardens aren't that big so you can spend 2 hours on a visit. The house is closed for lunch between 12:30-13:30 but you can access the garden during this time. We used this time for some al fresco lunch as a few tables/ chairs dotted around. Interesting items in the house include Napoleon's death mask, the bed Josephine died in and the orginal Napoleon crossing the alps painting.

Very historic residence of former wife Napoleon. One needs a guide to take a tour of house to explain what one is seeing and it's significance. Most of the interior descriptions are in French so one needs a bit of translation if you are like me and only speak Texan. Renovation were going on when we visited but not enough to spoil tour. Work was being done on windows as house was sinking so the windows were going off a bit off. Include time to tour the grounds. I include photos of house layout and overall site. If there are multiple tours groups inside it can become very crowded.

Josephine chose a beautiful Chateau. Too bad Napoleon didn't like the choice but the building retains it's charm ( and furniture). l

14 july 2023. Visited the parc on this day to see the celebration of the national day. Feu d'artifice was spectacular.

Suitable for leasure walks and running, has kids play ground too, ideal place for walking mom's and nannies! The park has ducks and few other birds too. And when you are tired, there're benches to rest!

The expo there on the animaux sauvages is OK not spectacular but we liked it and then walked in the Bois Préau, nice afternoon out.

Really interesting exhibition about the early impressionist in the Creuse Valley. Lovely space and warm welcome.

I went with my two children and two friends. After 2 hours, they stopped for 15 minutes to have lunch and to go to the toilet. After the break the staff did not want to put the equipment back so that they continue enjoying the park. The employees were very impolite and did not give a good explanation for why they did not let them put the equipment on. I checked the rules and it was not specified in the rules that the equipment could not be removed (even to have lunch and go to the toilet). Beautiful forest, amazing adventure, friendly staff, offers a variety of climbing options, serves all ages. You can bring your own sandwiches for lunch as they only offer snacks (chips, soda, ice cream). Fresh air and beautiful scenery.

Kids loved it. Be careful with young ones as we were proposed a slightly older route for our 4 year old. She struggled to reach the guidelines. Trampolines are cool...very sore when kids fall over though.
