Delightful pleasant walk through beautiful gardens and art. Great place to relax and unwind.
This garden is an exquisite blend of ancient philosophy and modern garden design. The variety of experiences are delightful! We especially enjoyed the Path of the Fountains and the rose garden, but the whole thing was fantastic!
Skip it! No doubt the garden has impressive views but so does the church nearby that is free. The city is charming but we regretted going to the gardens. There is a lot of what seems to be untamed nature, the fountains were nice, maybe for kids or pets and the green house didn't look finished either. We like some of the musical fountains and trellis before the exit.
Make sure you have your walking shoes on. Quite a climb at the start but plenty to stop and see. Wonderful views over Terrasson. Great imagination used in the planting of the gardens. More for adults than children. Enjoy.
Beautiful and poetic gardens with incredible views. The gardens are magical and enhanced by the beautifully crated texts & poems in front of each parts. The water garden is also quite amazing and fun for kids. Definitely a must see !
A one hour guided tour in French. Tours start every 30 minutes. You have to wear a mask. No need for a reservation. Parking on site. If it's warm and you have small children... Bring a dry pair of clothing :)
So beautiful! Ethereal Even after the flowering season, the garden is a work of art. Playing to every single one of your senses to bring you into this magical land, center you in the present, as well as look into the past and future. Every section is a new wonder. The best space was le jardin de l'eau. Refreshing, relaxing, and beautiful in every way. Hughly recommend at any time but it js particularly beautiful in spring and early summer.
We visited le jardin in August and booked in for the tour. Apparently you have to take the tour in the first instance but after that you are free to roam as you wish! The Jardin provide English language documents to support the tour guide if your French in not up to scratch! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Jardin and Terrasson itself.

We had an amazing time at the Chocolate museum! The English tour was well presented by our host and even though it was a tour for just the two of us, Elizabeth made sure it was never awkward by giving us the time we needed to read and taste things on our own. We also very much appreciated that information about the tours other than in French was very clear on the website (once every day, starting at 11.00). The Chocolate was also to die for, so over all an amazing experience for a small price (Chocolate bought in the boutique not included).
No tours occur on a Monday. And tours are carried out in English but only once a week, in high season, and this isn’t guaranteed. This information was given to us by the lady on the counter. Other than that, this is a nice shop with lots of free samples.
Fantastic for kids and adults alike, samples to taste and after the tour children get to keep their own mould after it's had chocolate poured in and they've coated the I side's evenly. This is included in the price, which is great as it is not expensive. The staff were very nice, and spoke English, which was good for those with little or no French.
Lovely place to spend about an hour. Cheap entry. Free tasters. The lady did the explanation and tour in French first and then translated it for me and my family afterwards. There is a film at the start which is in French but you have a written guide explaining what is being said. Can see into the factory where the chocolate is being made. Would recommend, did enjoy and the ladies English was amazing, able to answer all our questions.
Fantastic staff, knowledgeable in the history and the processes. They get the kids involved in making the information sink in and then creating their own chocolate creations! A great couple of hours spent for a very reasonable price. Oh and the chocolate is fantastic! 😊🍫
This is one of those short visits that is really all about the tour guide. The tour was in French but our guide always made sure we were following along. Yes you could look it up on the internet but there is the shop afterwards. All exhibits are also in English and a hand out is provided in English.
Great fun, particularly for children who get to make a chocolate mould. I reckon a tour and look around the shop would take around an hour so you might prefer to arrange this with another activity the same afternoon.
The tour were very fast (but stuff are nice), u didnt see any part of production but can known how chocolate is made. Good english suppourt. - shop is awesome for someone who love chocolate, prices are normal (for west european).

(Translated by Google) It's time to visit Terrasson on the banks of the Vézère. Come and stroll the small stone streets, with their many staircases. With its shops with old storefronts. The ancient town of Terrasson is built on a sort of large cliff.  There are a number of springs flowing under the cliff. If you listen carefully, here and there you will hear the slight sound of water running over the rock. When using the suspended footbridge, don't worry, it is well fixed. You will have access, among other things, to the ramparts, the Saint-Sour church, the Gardens of the Imaginary... A good time to spend, in the company of discreet felines who sometimes stop by your side. But we don't pass through the old town, we stroll there....

Founded by monks from the abbey of St Julien who were tired of being plundered and who built an abbey dating from 1064 on the ruins of which this abbey was built to transfer the relics of the founder of their order. Originally the abbey was spread over several levels on the side of the hill. It is worth visiting. (Original) Magnifique abbaye romane. From its front, there are beautiful views of the old town, and from its higher point, other views of the modern town where the river flows between the arches of the old stone bridge. The interior of the church is magnificent, bright, clean, and of great interest due to its large and detailed stained-glass windows, high ceilings with large arches, altarpieces, large chandeliers, and its special altar. I was speaking with the man I believe was the parish priest, a very kind person who is proud of his church, which is worth visiting and admiring. The Saint-Sour church, built in the 15th and 16th, mishandled over the centuries, will be extensively restored in the 19th. Around 2002, a “project for the church” was born and would be completed in 10 years. This project made it possible to restore, develop and/or beautify the surroundings of the church. Then the restoration of the church began. It was a project costing more than 2 million euros, covering all the essential elements of the monument, but also the lighting and electrification of the bells. Today it is a magnificent, welcoming and bright church, which overlooks the city. I can only recommend the visit, it is worth a detour.

The stained glass windows, the chandeliers, the carved wooden Reliquary, the altar, the paintings, the statues as well as this architecture are splendid to see. see. Surprisingly, one might expect a gigantic organ but not at all, the latter is small and goes rather unnoticed. To visit if you come to Terrasson. Étonnamment, on pourrait s'attendre à un orgue gigantesque mais pas du tout, ce dernier est petit et passe plutôt inaperçu. A visiter si venez à Terrasson.

A huge selection of information for activities takimg place in and around Terrasson and the Dordogne. Friendly and smiling hostesses.
We took boat ride down the river. It's nice, not impressive, but save your feet after long walk. Guides available in your language. Relaxing and interesting in some points.
Called to ask if they knew of a pest control company who could remove a hornets nest on our property. Told, in broken English, that they do not speak English. Why on earth do you work in a tourist office then.
(Translated by Google) For your information, each employee has the right to training. So don't hesitate to do one for kindness and above all learn to make people who come looking for information want to visit your very pretty city. Besides... there are signs to read in the city ☹️. For your information there is near the St Sour church, the heritage house where the reception is great, and done by a passionate person. With ephemeral and permanent exhibition. A word of advice: skip the Tourist Office and go straight to the heritage house.
