Loved the Theatre in the Round with such great pics taken of battles in area. And lookout view outside the theater is spectacular. And little art/sculptures of men right there made from washers was quite well done especially the old man sculpture looking at the sculpture of himself as a soldier. The sayings of the veterans there also interesting.
Nine-screen circular cinema on the hilltop overlooking Arromanches. We went to the last showing of the day, and we’re the only ones there. The film is a collaged, B&W, 20-minute story of the battle for Normandy. It is collated from multiple sources - American, British, French, Canadian, and German. It is 7 Euro entrance fee, and there is paid-for parking on the hilltop nearby, where there are some interesting sculptures, WW2 structures, and great views out to the Mulberry harbours. I was sorry when the film ended; it seemed so short! Note us is LOUD at times, so some discretion for sensitive ears advised!
Outstanding short film all original footage. It’s impressive to achieve this scale and quality with such old film. This does not shy away from the horror and devastation. The film explains the huge collaboration effort to build a temporary port. It was in use for 10 months and helped the allies win the European war. The film shows victory was never certain - while Paris was being liberated Rouen still burned. The film shows the human cost. Absolutely worth visiting. In just 20 minutes it explains the loss and scars across all of Normandy. It is a worthy commemoration of a generations’ sacrifice.
A very interesting film showing the history of the surrounding area during WW2 and the Normandy landings. Very reasonably priced and the film was very informative. Access into the place was easy, there were no steps to enter, giving those with mobility limitations an easy entrance. It's mostly standing room only but there is some seating towards the back for those who may need it. After the film you walk through the shop with interesting souvenirs. No cafe here but a vending machine is there. You're better off going down into the town to a cafe or place to eat there. Definitely recommend visiting here. Although I paid on the door, in the summer I would imagine it gets busy so you may want to purchase tickets before you go.
Incredible unbelievable. Not a dry eye after watching this. You feel a sense of pride, bravery, fear and so very grateful for the peace and democracy we all enjoy for us our children and their children.
Full of history from the event of WW2 and if you are visiting Normandy, this is a must visit place. Don't forget to visit the 360 degree cinema.
I’m not sure who thought up this reverse theater-in-the-round conceit, but hopefully they learned from their mistake and never tried it again. Some of the footage was incredibly powerful, but the editing and lack of context made it terribly disjointed. The only way to make it even more disjointed would be to spread it across 9 screens surrounding the viewer. So that’s what they did. Another serious issue: no air conditioning. We went in during a mild day in August, but when you pack 80 people into an enclosed unvented room, it sure heats up fast. It had to be approaching 27 degrees Celsius in there. And did I mention there’s no (or very limited) seating? I’m surprised only a few people left early. Anyone who knows anything about WWII history would be going “WTH?!” And anyone with no knowledge of history would be going “WTH?!” In short, a bad gimmick that dilutes the sacrifice and heroism of the military and local civilians. One last note: Far from impressing on visitors the horror and tragedy of war, the gift shop seems to very much be celebrating the glory of war.
A real disappointment, uncomfortable because you have to watch while standing leaning on an iron bar, streching your neck, moreover the room was extremely crowded. The documentary shown did not add anything to the basic knowledge on D-day which you can get with any documentary. 360 degrees just means that the same scene is shown at different moments on the screens around you, so you will not miss anything if you just watch in front of you. Not worth the price paid and the wait to go in. Moreover the parking nearby was 2.50 an hour. The hill overlooking the town is nice though, and there are some statues and artwork.

What an experience!! Great storytelling and tremendous amount of items to see. Leave yourself a bit of time for your visit. You can spend 2 hours here easily.
This museum is an absolute must-visit. I went in with my fairly basic knowledge of the events of D-Day, and came out with a much better understanding than I had ever expected. The museum is full of projections, models, and artefacts that give clear but still highly detailed accounts of the events before, on, and after D-Day, on all five beaches. I really highly recommend this excellent museum.
Really interesting and informative museum. You can wear a headset and there are information points where you listen to accounts from people who were in Arromanches at the time. It was a very moving experience and the museum overlooks the beach where you can still see parts of the man-made port. Definitely worth a visit for both adults and children. The gift shop is excellent too.
Fascinating museum, well laid out and with a real family interest for me as my grandfather landed here in 1944. The views over the remains of the Mulberry port from the museum only add to the ambiance and feeling of history. The audio guides are very good and helpful to understand the importance of this site.
Very nice place with lots of stuff to see. You can choose out of a lot of languages to listen and watch. It was very busy though and I recommend coming early so you can park somewhere.
Updated museum in 2023 detailing the events leading up to D Day and the concept and use of the Mulberry Harbour. Exhibits well presented and good audio guide in many languages. Location in iconic area overlooking Gold beach and the remains of the harbour. Good views from roof terrace . Highly recommended
Never been to old museum so can't compare the two like many seen to do. This was a very interesting place to visit and I learnt some new facts about the harbour design abd construction. Only gripe was listening to an annoying woman talking on her phone - ironically English! Like any museum visit for the true history buff it would be best when quiet 🤫
The whole experience is totally worth the effort to get there. Using local transport as we did. The buses are irregular, you could end up with only half an hour. We had several hours enjoying the exhibition a walk along the front and lunch in a cafe. A local tour could cost 150 euros or more.

Lots of fascinating personal artefacts from WW2 in this small museum. Everything has been donated by service personnel who served during WW2 and it brings lots of things to life. The team are very friendly and welcoming. Thoroughly recommend a visit when in the area.
Great little museum. All very personal items. Owner is great guy to chat to. Worth a visit, even with it's small size there's plenty to see.
One of rhe best museums in my opinion. It is no big and the are no tanks But all inside is history of first level. It is a family museum did it with big efort For example, each uniform is accompanied with the owner soldier history, and pictures of him, past and the time they did the donation. Excelent to people who loves WWII history The owner is very kind and helpful He build this with her family just to keep history alive Price is ridiculos cheap I will come back
Fantastic little museum ,do not miss this one ,also a very reasonably priced militaria shop .Bought a few bits ,the Dutch owner is very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for him ,very knowledgeable aswell. Loved this place ❤
Small but interesting displays of personal issued and private materials, uniforms weaponry and mounts. #liberatorsmuseum
Amazing little museum! Owner was very nice. Museum had tons of stuff donated by veterans of the war. There was even a parachute from the 501st Easy Company. Little shop selling antiques as well. Would definitely recommend!
A fascinating museum; small in area but large in very interesting personal stories and mementos. The collection is the work of enthusiastic father and son who have put it together from actual veterans of the Normandy Campaign. So many things to see and talk about.
Don't let the size fool you. This museum is packed with a large collection of items backed by the story of the veterans who donated them. In my opinion a lot more informative and enjoyable then the large museums in the neighbourhood. The owner is extremely friendly and passionate and will tell you all the great stories from the veterans he and his son met over the years.

Good store with lots of options. Ended up buying some American WW2 jacket buttons as souvenirs.
Travelled out to go and it said it was open online but was actually closed when we got there
Francois was great. The store had cool stuff and was just plain fun. If you are in to war collectibles this is the place. FYI just brought a French helmet when I was there.
Nice shop, but very expensive
Very nice helmets but overpriced
I went here today it was a nice little shop and the owner knew what he was selling and provided a bit of history on what it was. I highly recommend.
Absoletely a must for any fan of history that took place during the WW2 in normandy! You can even buy there some old relics from the WW2! Go see!! :O
Incredible amount of collectibles for sale and to just see ,

This is close to several other D-day memorials, within a short walking distance of each other. This particular memorial pays respects to the Royal Engineers and their importance to the D-day landings. Free to visit.
Beautiful Memorial to the Royal Engineers next to the D-day 75 Garden. 2 bridge section from Mullberry harbour behind. Well kept can walk under bridge section.
Great place to visit with some worthy monuments you can walk to the village from the top but the hill is extremely steep, It's also bleak in the rain. Carpark is pay and display and a separate area for camper vans. My only gripe was the lack of respect from some nationalities, who were taking photos whilst stood in the sculptures and having a laugh and another using the hut as a toilet place! There are free public toilets 20 mtrs away ffs!
This was another fascinating site to visit. Again, the soldiers' stories are such a fascinating read. Hard to imagine what they went through when they landed here 80 years ago.
Place in memory of engineering units that constructed the artificial temporary port. Good view on Arromanches with the remains of the Mulberry harbour at GOLD Beach.
Set on the top .. overlooking gold beach.. The memorial garden displays metal artwork of soldiers in battle... There is a raised view point nearby from which you can see the remains of the artificial harbour and bay of the landings in which these brave men Landed on D Day all those years ago... Parking is available nearby for just a few Euro...we didn't stay long as we were traveling on... so we just parked on the grass verge a few yards on... From the memorial you can walk down to the beach and the little village nearby... Also there is a cinema that shows a film on the landings... unfortunately we didn't get chance to go in on this occasion On a beautiful day you can easily spend a few hours here enjoying the memorial and the beach...
A beautiful tribute, would visit again. If you go into the 360 cinema there is a landscape photograph of the Mulberry Harbour which once you walk outside gives you a true scale of the operation they undertook there.
Arromanches-les-Bains is a very interesting village. The museum’s are well laid out.
