We had an absolutely terrible experience at this hotel. Despite booking and paying for an extra bed, we were initially denied it and had to argue with the staff to finally get it. The problems didn't end there: once the bed arrived, they refused to provide a blanket, and we ultimately had to settle for a single bedsheet to cover ourselves. The room conditions were equally poor: the floors were noticeably sticky, and the entire space smelled foul. We couldn't tolerate the environment and, though we had booked for two nights, we left the hotel after the first night. I strongly advise against booking a stay here.
Worst experience ever at Hawa Beach Resort, Kovalam. Don’t waste your money here! The AC didn’t work and they couldn’t even give another room. The room was filthy – dirty bedsheets and towels that looked like they hadn’t been washed in ages. Reception staff were rude and arrogant, zero sense of hospitality. We booked through MakeMyTrip, which clearly mentioned extra bed, but they shamelessly denied until we fought and showed proof. After 10 PM there is literally nobody around to help – you are left on your own. They give just one water bottle for the entire stay, which is a joke. This place is a scam disguised as a resort. Absolutely pathetic service, horrible cleanliness, and unprofessional staff. Strongly advise everyone – stay away from this place at all costs!
Nothing was good here. ACTUALLY NOTHING. The receptionist was extremely misbehaved and rude. The manager was not present! They denied any kind of service. And the rooms were worst; smelly, full of leakage and the bathrooms were as dirty as possible. The hotel was booked by an travel agency! But we literally had to check out in few hours. Just stay away from this hawah beach resort in Kovalam
Had a worst experience. The property lease owner had no respect to customers, demanded extra fair and used the words like "This is not a temple to come, sleep and go" in Malayalam. When I heard that, and asked if they can explain what do they mean and why did they make a statement like that, the lady who spoke did not had respect to even stand and speak up, rather ran away. When I saif this is not the way they can treat a customer and I can make a review on same, they simpy said "We dont care". Such a bad attitude and disrespect to be in hospitality business. Will never recommend going their. We are not their slaves (workers) to listen all such bad statements.
We stayed there for one day and booked two rooms. Some how we misplaced our room key. While checking out staff Manoj demanded us Rs. 1,000. In a hotel they must have spare key. No safely for belongings. Manoj asked to transfer the amount to his account.
Very poor Service, staff members not supported properly, mattress are dirty, Receptionists behaves not well, rudely , rooms smell badly
Worst experience at Hawa Beach Resort – dirty rooms, rude staff, and zero hospitality. AC didn’t work, no help after 10 PM. Don’t waste your money here.
This place is like a haunted house. There is nobody to help or provide assistance. All the fittings in the rooms are obsolete, ancient. The beds, mattresses and bedsheets are stained and stink.

Defines Heaven. Untill you find tons of wastes deposited on beach side. Please do not litter and spoil the natural beauty that this place offers. It's truly unmatched.
My favourite place..i just loved it What a beauty. bay of calm waters for swimming. Best place to watch the sunset. good for a getaway from the city
Samudra Beach in Kovalam is a peaceful, secluded beach and park offering picturesque scenery, sunset views, and opportunities for water sports, photography, and local fishing activities. While there may not be a formal park with a separate entrance, it provides a serene alternative to the more crowded Kovalam beaches, featuring a beautiful coastal landscape with a retaining wall for access. Visitors should be aware of strong currents, so swimming is not recommended.
This place has good privacy. You can spend a good evening here. Sunset is eye catching also the restaurant provide candle light dinner. So you can eat while enjoying the beach. Highly recommended place near kovalam. Good for photoshoot also.
Calm and quiet place to spend time with your loved ones.Sea view is amazing. Sea is very deep here so not possible to step on to the sea.
If you are looking for a Very calm and peaceful place to spend time with family, this is one of the place in Trivandrum. Sunset is the Best time to visit here. The crowd is very less as compared to other nearby beaches.
Should match some sanitary needs for more peoples and there should be a regular basis of security guards and some safety measures for the vistors good view point and location 87% cleanenes

A very good place to visit with family. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, and it’s a super spot to spend some relaxing time. You’ll need to do a bit of walking, but it’s definitely worth it for the views and the experience.
Peaceful spot with beautiful views and plenty of fresh air. Great for a relaxed day out, especially in the evenings when the light hits the water just right. Perfect place to chill, click some photos, and enjoy nature without rushing.
Neyyar Dam is a scenic gravity dam on the Neyyar River in the Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala, located at the foothills of the Western Ghats. Completed in 1958, the dam and its surrounding wildlife sanctuary are a popular day-trip destination from the city, known for nature, wildlife, and boating. Attractions and activities Boating on the reservoir: Take a boat tour, including speed boats, on the expansive reservoir. The ride offers scenic views of the surrounding hills and takes you to the various islands and wildlife areas within the sanctuary. Lion Safari Park: Located on a secluded island accessible by boat, this park allows visitors to see lions in a semi-wild habitat. Note: The park's operational status may vary, so it's wise to check in advance. Crocodile Rehabilitation and Research Centre: Accessible by boat, this center offers a safe way to observe crocodiles. You can also see a collection of other reptiles here. Deer Park: An enclosure on one of the islands allows you to view deer. It is also part of the boat tour. Wildlife Sanctuary: The dam is part of the larger Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to a diverse range of animals like elephants, sloth bears, and leopards. It is also a birdwatcher's paradise. Trekking: Guided trekking opportunities are available within the sanctuary. For those interested in more serious hiking, obtaining prior permission from the Forest Department is necessary for climbs like Agasthyamala Peak.
Neyyar Dam is a beautiful and peaceful spot surrounded by lush green hills and calm waters. 🌿 It’s a great place for picnics, boating, and enjoying nature with family or friends. 🚤 The nearby wildlife sanctuary and crocodile park add to the adventure and charm. 🐊 The view of the dam at sunset is truly mesmerizing and perfect for photography. 🌅 Overall, Neyyar Dam is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and peace seekers. 🌄
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A calm and peaceful place to visit! Neyyar Dam is beautifully maintained and very clean. There’s a lovely clock tower inside — definitely visit it, because from the top you can enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the entire area. Inside the dam premises, there’s also a Milma ice cream parlour, a café, and a canteen that serves good meals. A perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature! 🌿🍦
Neyyar Dam is one of the most calming spots you can visit near Trivandrum. The moment you reach, you’re greeted with a peaceful atmosphere, cool breeze, and stunning greenery all around. The top view from the dam is absolutely breathtaking. It is a perfect blend of vast water, hills, and sky that instantly relaxes your mind. The place is not just scenic but also a great spot to explore. There’s a small aquarium nearby that’s fun to check out, especially for families. And if you’re interested in wildlife, the crocodile park close to the dam is an exciting addition where you can see crocodiles up close in a safe environment. Overall, Neyyar Dam is perfect for a calm weekend getaway, short ride, or a peaceful evening walk. A must visit if you love nature, views, and quiet moments. 🌿✨
I am giving 4 star as its good but has potential to be great. Neyyar Dam, nestled in the Western Ghats about 30 km from Thiruvananthapuram, offers a peaceful escape into nature. As a traveller, I found it to be a quiet, scenic spot—ideal for those who prefer slow, reflective moments over crowded tourist attractions. The dam is surrounded by forested hills and a vast reservoir that glows beautifully in the evening light. A walk through the nearby park or simply sitting by the water feels calming. The boat ride across the reservoir adds a touch of adventure, taking you to the Lion Safari Park and Crocodile Rehabilitation Centre. While these spots may not be high-end, they offer a raw and unique experience, especially for families or first-time visitors. Neyyar isn’t about grand sights or adrenaline; it’s about pausing, watching, and breathing. It’s best visited on a weekday for a quieter experience. There are limited food options, so carrying your own snacks and water is a good idea. If you’re looking for a simple, refreshing day surrounded by nature, Neyyar Dam is well worth a visit. During monsoon this place offers a completely different experience than that of the summer. Facilities are mostly minimal and the central view tower definitely needs some better management. Also thats the same situation of the parks, can be maintained well, with proper land management and maintenance. If you are someone who enjoys a view its a great place. There is also a KTDC restaurant right next to the dam. I hope they have accommodation facilities too as they had a decent menu. Prices seemed reasonable and can be subjective. There is also an aquarium that has a ton of fish species, and there are some giants too, giants in a sense as if they weigh over 50kgs. It has a seperate ticket counter. I believe it was the first fish aquarium in india or asia. The lighting and interior ambience during monsoon is very dull and moody, but i hope it will be better during the summer. The structure is also comparatively better considering a public building, its not great in terms of aesthetics but is definitely good in terms of flow, movement and exhibit placement. I liked that one. It also has some huge ponds outside the building close to its perimeter that has some large koi fishes. Overall a good place for a one day trip, and it’s always better to visit and leave early. Check with the authorities for official timings.
Beautiful Place for Nature Lovers! Neyyar Dam is one of the most scenic and relaxing spots near Thiruvananthapuram. The view of the reservoir surrounded by hills is simply stunning. It’s a great place for a family outing or picnic — peaceful, clean, and well-maintained. You can also visit the nearby lion safari park, crocodile park, and boating area for a fun experience. The fresh breeze and calm water make it a perfect escape from city life. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

Beauty of nature 😍 Peaceful place 😇 Second largest fresh water lake in kerala 👌🏻 Recently they added some park area for sitting 👏🏻 Make a visit at evening times 🌤️
Went nearby Vellayani lake,it's a good spot for scenic beauty and there are fishing spots.People get organic vegetables and fruits on the way to the lake and also fish shops are also available.
Vellayani Lake is a suburb of Trivandrum. It is a scenic place which has a lake and paddy/vegetable fields.
Vellayani Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Thiruvananthapuram district, located just 7 km from the city. Surrounded by lush paddy fields and greenery, this lake is a peaceful escape from urban life. Known for its crystal-clear reflections and seasonal lotus blooms, Vellayani offers breathtaking views, especially during sunrise and sunset. It is also an important source of freshwater for the region, making it both scenic and significant. A visit here is perfect for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone wanting to experience Kerala’s calm and timeless beauty. 🌿💙
Calm serene place. Bridge work and road work in progress have to take de-tour at places.few were trying their hand at fishing. Hope we keep the plz clean!
Stand between the lake and paddy fields enjoying the gentle breeze and feel the serenity of nature. Vellayani is heaven. It hits different when there's a slight drizzle
One of the best place in trivandrum to experience the evening vibe and sunset. You can see the the view from main road itself, but you can also walk to to the side roads to experience the complete beauty of this place. You can buy fresh fish also from here. Currently boating is not available. You can either come to this place though your own vehicle or public transport like KSRTC bus. There is no dedicated parking space but you can park your vehicles near to this site. Safe swimming spaces are there in the lake. I think government can make this place as a main tourist attraction in Trivandrum, by providing public toilets and parking kind of facilities.
Nice place to visit in the evening
