Today, I visited BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Ahmedabad for the first time, and the experience was truly peaceful. The moment I stepped inside and had darshan of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, there was a sense of inner calm and joy. The temple is very well maintained — clean, calm, and spiritually uplifting. One unique thing is how the temple combines devotion with discipline. From the architecture to the way everything is organized, you feel a silent message of purity and order. This place is not just for prayer, but also inspires good thoughts and actions. A must-visit for anyone seeking peace in the middle of city life.
An Oasis of Peace: the Swaminarayan Temple, Sarangpur. The Swaminarayan Temple (BAPS) in Sarangpur, Gujarat, is far more than just a place of worship; it is an extraordinary complex that offers a profound spiritual retreat and a testament to immaculate planning and selfless service. Whether you are a devotee, a history enthusiast, or simply seeking solace, a visit here is a deeply rewarding experience. Architecture and Grandeur The sheer scale and artistry of the main temple complex are breathtaking. While it may not feature the towering shikhars of some ancient temples, its modern architecture is executed with stunning precision. The white marble shines under the sun, reflecting a purity that permeates the atmosphere. The intricate carvings, depicting various episodes from Hindu scriptures and the life of Swaminarayan, are detailed and visually captivating, inviting hours of quiet contemplation. The main murti (deity) of the Bhagwan Swaminarayan is installed with a regal presence that immediately draws the visitor into a state of devotion. The Spiritual Atmosphere What truly sets Sarangpur apart is the palpable sense of peace and order. The temple is famous as the place where the revered saint, Shastriji Maharaj, spent his life and where he consecrated the murtis of Akshar and Purushottam. This history imbues the complex with a strong, foundational spirituality. The staff and volunteers (sevaks) embody the core BAPS value of selfless service, attending to visitors with genuine warmth and humility, which significantly enhances the overall experience. Beyond the Mandir The Sarangpur campus is expansive and perfectly maintained. It houses Swaminarayan vidhyapith, Gurukul and most famously, the Shastriji Maharaj Memorial Temple (Akshar Mandir), which is a peaceful place for meditation. The gardens are lush, meticulously kept, and provide peaceful walkways. The dedication to cleanliness across the entire complex is remarkable—a true reflection of the institutional commitment to discipline and perfection. Visitor Experience The facilities are world-class. From clean washrooms to well-organized parking, everything is designed to make the pilgrim's journey easy. The prasad (sanctified food) and the dining hall (mahaprasad) offer simple, hygienic, and delicious meals, run with incredible efficiency. In conclusion, the Swaminarayan Temple in Sarangpur is a must-visit destination. It successfully blends spiritual tradition with modern efficiency, creating an environment that is both awe-inspiring and deeply grounding. It is a shining example of faith expressed through immaculate service and architectural brilliance.

From the moment one enters, there is a sense of serenity, discipline, and devotion that fills the heart with peace. The temple architecture is a masterpiece, with intricately carved domes, pillars, and shrines that reflect India’s rich culture and heritage. Every detail, from the beautifully decorated sanctum to the grand interiors, inspires awe and reverence. The darshan of Bhagwan Swaminarayan is the highlight of the visit – the murti is so divine and graceful that it instantly uplifts the soul and brings calmness to the mind. The temple premises are very well maintained, clean, and organized, creating an atmosphere where spirituality and devotion naturally blossom. The discipline and hospitality of the volunteers reflect the values of service and humility taught by BAPS. This mandir is not just a place of worship, but also a place where one can connect deeply with culture, tradition, and inner peace. Shopping mall
Shopping
Bustling mall featuring retail shops, restaurants, a movie theater, supermarket & kids' play area.
Slide 1 of 8
Shree Balaji Agora mall is having a good variety of shops and in-house a play zone and a movie theatre along with a food court. It also has a reliance smart bazaar and cafe mast hai in its boundary. There is a book stall and rides for children. Overall, it was a good experience. But The mall have installed air conditioner in lobby but it's only for showcase not working and due to full covered are its too irritating and safogated area.
Shree Balaji Agora mall is small in size but a good mall. There are a variety of shops, Reliance smart bazaar, restaurants, food court, a play zone for games etc. Many people also visit this place for the Visa application centre of many countries like the UK and European countries and Canada I also visited this place for my family tourist Schengen visa documents submission and Biometric. We had a pleasant experience at the Mall.
The mall was good. They have a lot of space for parking so many elevators. All things included inside it from game zone for kids to restaurant for youngsters Cafe for couples Cinema for family parlour. For ladies, you will get everything inside it. If you want to dance, there is a disco theque too.. You ll have fun…
Currently this Mall is not in such a good condition. AC was not cooling, smells weird and feels suffocation at there. Amd also there are almost no shops only 3-4 shops was open when we visited. There's only a cafe which is good and food court is active. Don't waste time for visit the place.
Agora Mall stands out as a go‑to destination for a half‑day outing in Ahmedabad—combining ample shopping variety, themed dining options, a multiplex cinema, gaming, and even event hosting facilities. Its cinematic-inspired design and family‑centric environment appeal to a wide demographic. While entertainment offerings occasionally suffer from maintenance hiccups, the mall’s overall convenience, ambience, and service mix make it a reliable, enjoyable choice. Families or friend groups wanting dining, entertainment, and shopping all in one place. Movie lovers seeking a decent multiplex with lounge-style waiting areas. Event organizers in need of a large banquet hall.
Nothing much to do at the mall besides the VFS offices. Its almost like a dead mall. The cinemas dont play the morning shows,The food courts dont serve the food well. The small stores outside serve better food. But this mall is a house to all VFS offices in Ahmedabad.
These Mall is old but it is worth visit specially for children as there is so many fun games and activities. Like i watched a 5D movie and played Bowling ball with my friend. It's very affordable and you will not regret as it's definitely value for money. Me and my friend enjoyed so much. I suggest you must visit there once. For shopping i don't think there is much so keep this in mind.
The location of Mall is fine, and parking facilities are good. However, there is nothing particularly special about the mall apart from the VFS office. Most of the shops inside are just average, and it seems that the majority of visitors come mainly for VFS related work rather than shopping or leisure.

Dandi Kutir (Salt Mount) in Gandhinagar is a truly unique and immersive experience that beautifully brings Mahatma Gandhi’s life and philosophy to life. The museum, shaped like a giant mound of salt, is both symbolic and visually striking. Inside, the use of multimedia, 3D visuals, and audio guides makes the journey through Gandhiji’s life—from his childhood to the Dandi March—engaging and deeply moving. It’s not just a history lesson, but a powerful reminder of simplicity, truth, and non-violence. The entire setup is modern, well-maintained, and perfect for all age groups. A must-visit if you’re in Gujarat and want to connect with India’s freedom struggle in an inspiring way.
An absolutely unforgettable and immersive experience! 🙏 The Dandi Kutir Museum is a modern marvel, uniquely shaped like a salt mound to honor the historic Dandi March. 🧂 Inside, the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi are brought to life using incredible technology like 3D holography, 360-degree shows, and audio guides. 🎧 It’s not just a museum; it’s an inspiring journey through India's freedom struggle that touches your heart. Awesome, Fabulous In just ₹10/- got the experience of 3D visualization and Gandhi's History.. Amazing videos played and literally it's True India and high technology involved. Amazing work has been executed.. Dandi Kutir is a unique and inspiring museum shaped like a massive salt mound, symbolizing the historic Salt March led by Mahatma Gandhi. Located in Gandhinagar, it blends history with modern technology, using audio-visuals, 3D presentations, and interactive exhibits to narrate Gandhiji’s life journey—from his childhood to his role in India's freedom movement. The experience is immersive, informative, and emotionally moving. The architecture is striking, and the storytelling is powerful. A perfect place for students, history lovers, and anyone who wishes to understand the spirit of non-violence and truth. A must-visit gem in Gujarat.
Dandi Kutir in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, is a museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi and the Salt Satyagraha. While it's a well-intentioned tribute, I felt it tried too hard to cover everything about Gandhi's life, making it feel a bit overwhelming. The exhibits were informative, with interactive displays and life-size dioramas, but some areas seemed neglected, and the displays could be more engaging. The 51-foot-tall Gandhi statue and surrounding bronze statues are impressive, though. The museum's architecture, designed to resemble a village, is also noteworthy. Overall, it's worth visiting if you're in Gandhinagar, but don't expect a thoroughly curated experience. The grounds are nice, with a peaceful atmosphere, but some facilities could be better maintained.
Excellent place where life of Mahatma Gandhi is shown with Rs 10 only where 3D picturazition done, I was interested knowing all the facts of Gandhi Ji, which were not shown. But place is excellent, clean, spacious...
The concept of the Dandi Kutir Museum is impressive, but the overall experience was disappointing. The ticket price felt too high for what was offered, and many interactive displays were not functioning properly. The staff seemed uninterested in guiding visitors, and the waiting time was longer than expected. The museum has potential, but it really needs better maintenance and visitor management to make the visit worthwhile.
Very well maintained and full of information about Gandhiji. They have locker room for bags, mobile are allowed. They have 2 hour long audio-visual tour which is very interesting and inspiring. Souvenir and snacks store inside. Parking nearby. Very clean place. Visit with 3-4 hours in hand along with family. Jai hind.
The wait time was 1hr. And 1hr of waiting is for what you know the experience of total irritation. The audio was on Hindi. I do not know Hindi. Without knowing the language I listened it for 1hr which was totally irritating. At last my whole day got disappointed becayof this bad experience. The structure was awesome though.
