I enjoy Bower Ponds immensely. It's a beautiful park featuring sporting facilities, playgrounds, picnic areas, and walking paths. The experience with nature and the historical significance of this facility are enriching to all who visit.
Beautiful area, good for biking and walking. Nice view of Red Deer river. Many attractions, great place to have a tea in the Tea House from previous century.
Wonderful area to relax, dog walk, bike or picnic. Very tidy and accessible. The only issue was last time, in the parking lot, a guy was smoking crack in his car and it stunk up the whole area. NOT very cool!
Beautiful park that has it all. There is plenty of parking and easy access for all to the park. There are lots of walking trails and a large playground. There are public washrooms. There is central building that houses the washrooms along with a snack bar and lots of seating. The park itself is peaceful and has lots of outdoor amenities. Lots of benches and picnic tables. You can rent paddle boats to go out on the ponds. There are lots of interesting places and informative information boards to read and learn about nature. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit here and definitely recommend visiting.
It was a super warm day for October 2023. The walking trails are wonderful with all the beautiful autumn 🍂 colors. The water fountain was sparkling in the sunlight. There are also benches for sitting to enjoy all the views!
It was a great experience. Not only beautiful we had the unexpected pleasure of watching the amazing modernized Merry Wives of Windsor performed by Prime Stock Theatre Bard on Bower. Only one complaint was that the ice cream stand didn't have dairy free ice desserts.
I love this place. Quiet, serene. Paddle boats. Concerts. Ice cream and tea at the Cronquist house. Just good old fashioned family fun. Ohh and right now there's Shakespeare in the Park.
A great place for exploring nature while you walk around the pond and get exercise. Good for the whole family, as there is always something to do or see . Best part is it's free. Except for the rental of the paddle boat's if you want to use them. But they do have a website that posts things that are going on to keep you up to date and if there is a cost or not.

This is a fantastic nature centre that all of the family can enjoy. The building contains an interpretive centre and gift shop. There are public washrooms and lots of parking. There is a cool play area for kids. There is direct access to the Gaetz bird sanctuary and a 4 km trail loop My wife and I had a great time here and definitely recommend coming here.
A remarkably well curated nature center. Walking trails, remarkable art. Great science for children. I highly recommend it
Checked out this wildlife sanctuary in the middle of Red Deer today. There is an interpretive center and washrooms as well as meeting rooms etc. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. You can take the paved 1km path or the 4km trail. I chose the 4k going left as it was less climbing versus taking it to the right. It was not crowded and quite a pleasant first visit. If you are looking for a change in scenery go have a look.
Kerry Wood Nature Centre in Red Deer offers scenic trails, birdwatching, and interactive exhibits—a peaceful, educational spot for nature lovers.
I love coming here and to walk and look at the birds. Inside the nature center is really nice and informative. They also sell various kinds of bird seed.
I give this place 5 stars for the beautiful nature it beholds. The building inside is a whole different story - everything is broken and the people at the desk are not welcoming.
Kerry wood nature center is amazing, great Flora and fauna to be seen. The leaves and trees were lush with the previous rain 🌧 Had such a beautiful cool hike with our kiddos, they thought they going on a forest hike. Will be back soon. Love the colors of fall on the trails
I hosted my Pet First Aid class in their theatre room. The staff were amazing, they helped with setup and took care of tear down. They were able to help me get the projector connected and working. They were really accommodating and did everything they could to make sure me and my students had a successful class. I really appreciate their help!

I’ve visited Heritage Ranch in every season and it’s such a beautiful place. So many trails for hiking and biking, beautiful ponds that are so full of life. And in the winter the horse carriage ride makes the cold snow a little more enjoyable. The food in the restaurant is quite good as well.
I got my parents a date night dinner at heritage ranch on the weekend. Just wanted to share the experience my parents had. The service was good, but the portion sizes were extremely underwhelming. Every plate was shareable. For $350 I would expect my parents to leave being full and not hungry on the way home.
We had a great meal. The smoked brisket on the bun as well as the nachos was very delicious.
I had the worst service, with a long wait (55 mins the be exact) and awful food. The burrata pizza (note it's cost more than $30 for this) had no burrata, and the breadboard featured flavorless and cold bread. The server paid no attention to the guests and served sharing plates with the dinner course. I've been coming here from Calgary for the past 5 years. This dinner marks the end of it. Never going back to this awful place. The only thing that's improved here is exorbitant prices. Goodbye, Heritage!
The grandchildren love visiting the horses. We always bring carrots to feed them. The playground is lots of fun as well. We haven't yet tried the pony rides or the trail rides but I'm guessing they are great as well. The horses all seem so friendly!
amazing food, amazing place and amazing service by all stuff. I want to mention the waiter, Barbara. she was amazing and so nice recommend this place to the fullest, and for full experience, check out the horse rides.
Cool working ranch that offers either horseback riding or carriage rides. You can walk around and see the horses and walk on some trails also. There is a playground 🛝 for the kids and benches and picnic tables. There is lots of parking available. There are also public washrooms available. Did not do anything with the horses 🐎 but we did eat at the restaurant that is part of the ranch. There is a cool tower that you can walk up and get a great high view of the ranch. My wife and I enjoyed our visit.
Lovely spot. It has a couple routes for options trails 2.2km or 2.6km. Check my photos for details. Have not been yet at restaurant, hopefully will come some days soon :) The horses experience was good, my son was super excited to pet them. 😀 1000000$ atmosphere!

Nice garden park in front of Red Deer city hall. Some benches and picnic tables to use to rest on or have a meal. The garden is well maintained and curated. It’s not a large area but what is here is very nice. If you are downtown you definitely want to come here.
A truly beautiful display of Christmas Lights. They take up the entire city block which City Hall sits on. It is apparent that a great deal of effort was put into creating a beautiful and magical experience. Thank you for this wonderful contribution to the community!
Nice park with benches and lots of flowers in the summer, in the winter the lights are beautiful. Shares a lot with the library which is great for kids, my daughter likes to pick out a book and then go out and sit in the park and read it. Great place for pictures at Christmas time.
City hall is a perfect place in all seasons, beautiful flowers in summer and amazing light show in winter
I like it in summer and in winter. Flowers and lights make this park a local attraction! Definitely worth to spend some time and make some pictures
Christmas lights are great, good outdoor time for kids in winter.
Red Deer City Hall Park is a beautiful garden. Nice place to get some peace-time outside. A great visitor spot for tourists.
Summer in City Hall Park is the BEST! The flowers and other plants are so beautiful and peaceful to be around! I also love that each year is a new theme, and that they create pictures with the flowers. Absolutely amazing!

Amazing place! Very nice staff and a lot of fun for the kids. It's a great place to stop to get kids to burn some energy. Nice and clean inside.
Great spot for the family to explore. Family Pass for the year was a steal at 30 bucks ⚾️🏀🏐⚽️🥇🥈🥉 we will go again and again
I visited the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame today with my students on a field trip, and it was an incredible experience for all of us! The museum is interactive, engaging, and packed with inspiring stories of Alberta’s sports legends. The students especially loved the virtual sports games and hands-on exhibits—they had fun while learning about the rich sports history of the province. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable, and great with the kids. It’s a perfect spot for school trips or family visits. Highly recommended if you're looking to spark motivation and team spirit in young minds!
My kids loved it here. Very interactive and fun for all ages. We basically had the whole place to ourselves for a bit. Great indoor environment for them to run around, and a great price for a annual family pass! Will be spending lots of time here in the future!
There's loads of fun games for kids and so much memorabilia for sports fans of all ages to check out. Well worth the visit.
Went with kids to kill some time and this place didn't disappoint. They have fun interactive games for kids and grown-ups alike. Also great to see and learn about the Alberta Sports Excellence achievers.
Great Hall of Fame. Lots of great displays and interactive exhibits. My wife and I thought it might have been boring but that was far from what we experienced. The price of admission was well worth it. I have driven past the Hall of Fame for many years on the QE2 and finally took the time to visit. We enjoyed our visit and recommend coming if you can. I saw a lot of familiar sports faces in the inductee area that I recognized from past years.
Excellent all around. Great Happy VIBES. EXCELLENT SERVICE - A PERFECT AFTERNOON. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND SUPER Happy Hour Prices. Thanks a Bunch❤️🌻🌹❤️

This place was an absolute blast. Me and my wife decided to give it a shot with my best friend. We are absolutely planning on coming back together with our whole family. Current cost for whole day tube rentals is: $7 So cheap not worth buying your own and dealing with the hassle of blowing it up, keeping track of it and making sure no munchkins try and yoink it while your not looking. Support the park and just pay for the wristband. First off you get used to the water quick. Once your going you forget about it and don't worry. If your a bigger person sometimes your butt/tube rubs on the river bed, slows you down and is a little annoying but is fine for kids and thinner folks. 3 different sizes of tubes offered. Adults take yellow(Biggest). You will know your tube is too small if your almost flipping over occasionally. The line to get in could take 30seconds - 2mins but If your moving and rushing to get in you will be fine. There are staff at key points of this lazy river keeping things moving along. If your in a group you can hold onto eachother and go together. Staff is very professional and well behaved and help with anything and everything. Kids rush in at the top and get in early. Don't worry it's quick to move, don't get fussy or annoyed, everything will be fine. Adults have fun here take your time and enjoy. Great for younger kids. Secondly there are tons of day use benches and tables to set up a BBQ/lunch spot. Arriving early is a good idea. Looks like park opens at 11:00am. Be early to get a great spot. Gazebo recommended but lots of areas shaded, not mandatory. Great park, will be back with my whole family and wife's family. Love it! 5/5
We’re enjoying this spot just a few hours from Edmonton, Canada. Entrance is free, you can bring your own tube and have fun, or rent one there. There are people making sure kids and adults stay safe. The water’s a bit cold, but super refreshing.
We went here as a family with three children. The location is ideal for spending an enjoyable day with children. Everyone has to buy a swimming float for $7, but it's fine if you already have one. The staff is extremely friendly and caring with children; every 1 meter, you will see one of the staff members in the lazy river assisting children or the flow. We only spent about 2 hours before the kids grew tired. I highly recommend this location.
Today, we went to Discovery Canyon and had so much fun. There were lots of people and many kids, and you could see the joy on their faces. My child and two of my nieces/nephews went tubing. The weather was a bit hot, but since there were many trees, you could stay comfortably in the area. It’s a perfect place for family gatherings and picnics.
Fun place to take yourself and the family for the day. The day we went was extremely busy but the boys didn't mind and had a blast.. there is a sandy little beach area for people to play at and lots of grassy areas to sit and enjoy. Sitting on the side of the hill was tricky but we were able to move later. Lots of shade and picnic areas surrounding at a higher level. The tube rental wristband is only $7/ person and you can use their tubes. You can bring your own but be sure to check their website on size restrictions first. There is a concession stand with things to eat and drink and a public washroom nearby. Super clean and super fun place to go just on the outskirts of the city.
A great experience for the family. No need to bring your own tube for $7 a person the tubes are provided for all sizes. The line up can be a bit long when in the water as a staff has to put you through one by one near the middle, but other than that it is a great time. Pack your lunch, sand buckets and everything you would for a day at the beach.
Perfect for little kids! A playground shallow water with rentable cubes for the 'river water slide'. Nice sand to play in and an icecream shack. But it was WAY too busy to make standing in line for the water slide worth it, too shallow to actually swim in, and the water is filthy with garbage. It feels more like a cesspool than a lake or river. But it's cheap, the water is cold, and it has flush toilets, outdoor showers, and a couple change rooms.
It's not a lazy river, more like a lazy slide. The kids do have to get off their tube and walk up to to go down again. Water is cold, so perfect for super hot days. Little beach is cute. Kids had fun.
