I love visiting this charming, historic part of Saint Charles. The Christmas Traditions event is so enchanting and really puts visitors in the Christmas spirit. The local shops carry such unique gifts and products, some of which are handmade that you won't find elsewhere. The local restaurants, cafés, bakeries, ice cream parlors and coffee shops offer great cuisine and dining experiences, some with relaxing, scenic views along the Mississippi, and the local bars offer lively nightlife. You must visit historic Saint Charles--what a lovely place to visit!
I treat little Main Street! Wish more of the shops/restaurants were open during the evening, but it was still worth it to walk around a bit!
Very nice and well preserved historic center in the heart of Saint Charles, the first capital of the State of Missouri. Main Street is rich of historic brick buildings and still maintains its characteristic red brick pavement. Parking is generally available on the side of the road.
Old St. Charles is quaint and full of historical charm. The shops range from cute and quirky to artsy and beyond, with something for everyone, and there are many nice dining options along the entire length of the brick-paved streets. Great place for a lazy stroll and a day full of fun along the Missouri River.
First state Capitol and Frontier Park in Historic St. Charles, Missouri. 29 August 2024
Nice place to visit and walk around. Close to the lakefront and Lewis and Clark Boathouse.
A good mix of history, shopping and food. Nice flow, but car traffic can be intense at times. It would have a total different feel if there was no auto traffic, because you can't loose yourself in the time period with a late model car going by.....
I like to visit St. Charles Historic district and walk on Main street. On this place, a lot of small souvenirs shops could be visited. The unique architecture and atmosphere could be seen from attached photos.

This was my first experience inside a casino/Hotel property, and while it was initially uncomfortable, it proved to be a valuable learning opportunity. During my stay I explored the building and approached the casino entrance. Although I am not personally drawn to gambling, I have respect for it. Upon reaching the entrance, two staff members, though not rude, required me to present my ID and scanned before allowing entry. While I understood the policy, I felt somewhat unsettled as my intention was simply to visit the restaurant. This made me hesitate to continue my exploration. Overall, my nearly ten day stay for work was positive. Early booking issues were resolved promptly and professionally by the manager, whose kindness was much appreciated. The front desk staff were consistently warm, helpful, and welcoming. I did not request housekeeping due to my schedule but maintain respect for their efforts. The parking garage is spacious with ample spots near the elevators, which was convenient. The on site restaurants were enjoyable, and the general atmosphere was polite and professional. Despite the initial discomfort, my first stay at a casino hotel property was a rewarding experience thanks to the attentive staff and comfortable accommodations.
I have visited the casino and had dinner at the steak house several times before. Since I’m local, I had not seen inside of a room or the pool area. My friend had a room and invited me to hang out. Listen, Everything was so beautiful! I was pleasantly surprised! I’ll definitely plan a staycation to spend time on their grounds again. Looking for a beautiful room, exceptional pool with cabana options and poolside service, this is it! Oh they had an Inside and outside pool with hot tub options! Of course, poolside services have seasonal dates but the pool is now open until 6pm until December (they’re trying something new!)
Great time all round!! Food from Chinese restaurant amazing.. Just note for any truck drivers coming here.. Directions to truck parking is to the right of entrance bridge to cansino..B4 crossing bridge, turn right, then turn left where it states over size vechile parking. Pending on drivers there already ,parking might be tight, due to most don't know how to park tight..Be considerate when parking here!!!! Plus once parked no running of trucks between 8pm and 6am per city codes....once ready to go to cansino, walk towards building, use bus entrance on right drive, look for stair case on left once in under ground delivery area..
Our group of guys always stay here for our last night in town on business. We love it and will be back on our next many trips for sure. Very nice rooms, excellent service, clean facility, and fun for both new players and the high rollers. Bugatti's Steakhouse is absolutely amazing! My only critique is that the rewards program is a little weak and light. No comps, few offers, and zero freebies after 5+ stays here now. Oh well, we have blast as a nice ending to a long business trip on our way out of St. Louis. Always less than 16 minutes to the airport also, which is really nice.
We weren't able to get a room, unfortunately. But I have stayed in them before, and they are very nice. The girls at the desk were able to point me in the right direction to find a decent room elsewhere, and my Chinese food was top tier with service to match.
Clarity Project Consulting was proud to attend the St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce luncheon hosted at the beautiful Ameristar Casino. The venue provided an excellent setting for meaningful networking and conversations that strengthen our local business community. A special shoutout to the St. Charles County CAPS program for bringing future leaders to the event — it’s inspiring to see students learning, connecting, and beginning to grow their personal brands. Events like this remind us how collaboration between businesses, educators, and community partners drives growth and innovation. Thank you to the Chamber, Ameristar, and CAPS for an outstanding event and for continuing to invest in the next generation of professionals.
1/5 because I got there Tue morning and you were closed. It happens. But you could have put this on your website. Or at least put up signs outside so we don't walk throught the whole damn hotel before you tell us you won't be open for 4 hours. Not very smart. Use your head. I'm Emerald and I won't be back for awhile. Hollywood is closer and was good enough.
Normal check in is 3pm literally everywhere in the world. 4pm check-in is not the norm. They will threaten an early check-in of $85 for any time before 4pm. This is a money-grabbing policy. AND YOU KNOW that $85 fee doesn't go to the housekeeping staff. Also there's a $14.50/night "resort fee" that will get charged after you check out. This one is normal at other resorts around the world and is still a stupid practice. The hospitality industry is so frustrating and this is a great example. The room itself was pretty nice though, so you still get 3 stars

Wonderful museum with a wealth of knowledge about the explorers. My favorite part was the very well made documentary. It's about 45min long but I highly recommend watching it in full before you tour the museum. It describes in great detail things your history books never tell you. The artifacts are well displayed and very interesting. There's a gift shop and a deck to sit outside and enjoy a view of the fast flowing Missouri river. The boathouse in underneath the museum and the boats are interestingly made. There is a small entry fee to visit the museum.
This is a very cool museum tucked into the riverfront next to Historical St. Charles. Very cool area! The museum has a lot of information but only takes a time commitment of 1-2 hrs. so you can do both. Very affordable pricing for our family of 5 and there is a parks membership doscount. The facilities are new, clean, and has a patio area that is very nice. We went with 3 young boys and the giftshop has a lot of good finds for kids to encourage exploring and learning more about Lewis and Clark. Worth the visit!
Had a wonderful time, the staff was extremely helpful and full of information. I wish more places were like this with friendly staff that are willing to go out of their way to make your experience much better.
We really liked this museum. Their exhibits are packed with artifacts, and it's deceptively larger than it looks. I really enjoyed the diorama section with its impressive details, and most of their taxidermy is very well done. They also do a great job setting an atmosphere, which is not something that all museums are good at. The history of Lewis in Clark is not high on my list of interesting histories, but the museum manages to make you care. They also have a 40 min National Geographic documentary that was good enough for us to sit through. I definitely suggest coming and also using Groupon if you are coming as a group. At the standard admission price, I feel like the museum is not quite worth it, but Groupon will get you over the value threshold.
Great museum to learn about Lewis and Clark and their expedition! There’s a gift shop with postcards. Employees are very helpful and nice. It is a cute space and there are some great views of the river.
Boats are locked away in a manner to prevent getting a good view. However, museum provides an extensive presentation of the challenges faced by Lewis and Clark.
A great place to learn and experience the rich history of Lewis and Clark in America right before and after the "Louisiana Purchase"
This is a must see place I just so happened to have a delivery close to here so I parked my truck at love's travel center caught a lyft over to it amazing place the gift shop is just as amazing as the rest of the museum

Parking was a bit wonky but safe. Getting in Main Gates were easy and friendly. Venue was very pleasant. Audio and visuals were excellent for live music. Theater was pleasant Show was great. Security was attentive. Would return for more shows and recommend this theater
Decent venue to see a concert. The seats are a bit small and close. Drinks are way overpriced, but where aren't they. The restrooms were clean and adequate.
I won tickets to Bachman Turner Overdrive from KSHE95 Real Rock Radio. I hadn’t been to a concert in 40 YEARS!!! Also Zebra and April Wine played that night. They were okay but BTO took the show and the female drummer stole the show, in my opinion, no hard feels guys but she is amazingly talented!!! Awesome show and I would 100% recommend the family arena. Always a little room for improvement but y’all are great!!! Easy parking and entry. Easy exit and no real traffic issues. Top notch.
Great concert. Parking was easy to get in and out of. Small venue to have a great experience but big enough to get that "big time" feel.
It was good for the concert. A bit too loud, but I don't know uf you can blame the venue for that. The resl problem is that I never did find my correct seat. It was extremely dark. The stairs going up to the nose bleed section didn't even have lights on the steps! I looked across and saw that some of the other sections had lights, but not the section I was in. I had to turn on my phone light just to see where I was going. Then there was the turn. There was a fairly narrow walk with a drop off on one side with nothing to hold on to. It's not s long walk to get past it, but as dark as it was and no railing, made it quite intimidating. Then when you make the turn to go around the corner snd up the next section of steps, I nearly crashed because the concrete step sticks out sbout a foot snd you can't see it until you run into it. And again, nothing to hold on to. I couldn't find the correct level or seats without shining my phone light in everyone elses face. So we just found some empty seats and sat down. Fortunately it didn5 cause any conflict over seats with anyone. We looked all around and there was not an usher in sught anywhere! Leaving the building after all the lights were turned on was not so bad.
Overall the venue is fine but the most recent show our section was saddened by starring at a stack of speakers. Avoid section 118.
Tried to take my gf to event and she is disabled. When we got to the arena to park is was a joke the handicap parking was not marked properly and they let people with no disabled plachart or plates. They were not helpful at all it was a waist of money. I will never ever go there again or advise anyone to go there. Very disrectful.
The venue's handicap parking facilities were grossly inadequate. With numerous spots available, it was disconcerting to find that non-disabled vehicles occupied around 80% of them. Upon attempting to discuss this issue with parking staff, I was met with a remarkable lack of concern. Instead of providing a suitable solution, they suggested dropping me off at the entrance, despite the inclement weather and me being an amputee. Their apathy was staggering, and we consequently decided not to attend the event. As we were departing, I noticed an individual in a motorized wheelchair approaching from the far end of the parking lot, which served to further emphasize the need for enhanced accessibility measures. It is unacceptable that the venue fails to properly designate and enforce handicap parking spaces, especially when they are capable of doing so for other designated groups. The staff's apparent indifference to these concerns only serves to compound the issue. As a result, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Awesome place to check out some pretty sweet rides, customer service was friendly and informative and there was so much to see. They have a total of 3 show rooms as well as I believe a shop for custom jobs on your own classic vehicle, and they also have lots of cars for sale including this awesome mini Shelby Cobra. There’s a decent size gift shop with lots of cool stuff anywhere from hot wheels to hats, T-Shirts, Keychains etc. They also have a room above (listed in one of the photos below and I believe you can rent it for private events and it’s got a very nice view of some cars and it’s a cool environment overall. Definitely check it out if you or someone you know loves cars too.
If ur a car person this is nice place to stop at. They have lot to see . Make sure to hit gift shop they have lot of stuff. Wide variety of prices. The gentleman working was super nice . Definitely will stop aging when in town.
Gorgeous vehicles of all prices, years and models. I grabbed a camera and wandered the grounds, getting some nice shots of these beautiful classic cars.
Some of the most beautiful iconic muscle cars you will see. Met the owner nice friendly guy.
Several buildings all filled to the brim with restored classic cars (& some nostalgic memorabilia) available to purchase, but they also leave you be & let you roam freely to peruse even if you're just there to sightsee (& take pictures -- but there webste has VERY extensive detailed photos of each car anyway!)... because browsers often become buyers, no doubt, & then you become a lifelong customer, LOL! They are always available nearby, though, whenever you have Q's, & have all been very friendly. There's also a fun little related gift shop for the car-enthusiast or Route-66 tourist with ice-cold locally-bottled Fitz's soda-pop bottles (with real sugar, not syrups).
I recently purchased a car from here and the entire process went smoothly. Mark was great, he helped me with any questions I had, helped me get a PPI done, and was always on top of everything from initial inquiry till the delivery. The car itself is great as well. The description was very accurate. Highly recommend purchasing from here!
I recently sold my classic car to this business and had a great experience. The process was thorough and incredibly quick. They gave me a very fair offer! Everything was handled professionally, and I was impressed with how smooth the transaction went. Highly recommend! Friendly owner and staff I would do business here again without hesitation.
Cars here were nice. But last year wanted to buy a car. Writing the review now since I drove by and remembered this place. I guess if they see you are younger than 50 they wont talk to you. Bought a classic elsewhere. I asked to talk to a sales rep and someone came over and it looked like I was a bother to them.

A fabulous time capsule of life in the 1820s. A wonderful collection of historical pieces in replica rooms that tell the story of Missouri’s early statehood days. Very inexpensive and interesting for all ages. Informative and friendly guides and docents, and a beautiful and peaceful back garden area to enjoy (the garden area is free to enjoy.
I absolutely loved this place and the wonderful tour that I was given by Chris. She was extremely nice and knowledgeable about the history of Missouri. This location and the early history of the state are fascinating. Definitely visit this place if you want to learn about the history of St Charles and Missouri in general. I highly recommend!
August 29, 2024 First state Capitol and Frontier Park in Historic St. Charles, Missouri. 29 August 2024 August 29, 2024 after work, left the hotel and stopped at The historic Columns at Mizzou in Columbia Missouri! We then drove over to The First State Capitol of Missouri in St.Charles!
Looks like it would be a cool place to take a tour. They are closed on Monday; so I took pics from outside the windows 🤷🏼‍♀️
Right in the heart of old St. Charles, this set of buildings represents the very first of Missouri's legislative centers. The visitor center is small, but has lots of information to share, and tours of the capitol building are on offer. You're free to roam the grounds, which includes a lovely backyard area with river views. The yard contains gardens and plantings of all kinds, as well as sitting areas and plenty of shade. The first capitol is an important part of Missouri's history, and the historic site preserves it wonderfully!
Great tour, well presented, interesting history. A must do when in St Charles!
Awesome historical site. The tour was well worth it, guide was very knowledgeable. So nice to see such an important place restored to it's original character. The visitor's center has an informative video that shows details from the 6 year research and rebuild project. They also have displays upstairs showing Missouri's path to statehood. Tons of period artifacts, and the House and Senate chambers are set up as they would have been in the 1820's. It's not very big, so you can see it all in a couple hours.
It's a great place to be and to bring your kids is a really good idea. The area is right next to the Katy Trail and the security is very good. The police normally ride on horseback and the bars that where there are moving out.
