Lake Geneva

Lake Geneva is a resort city on Geneva Lake in southeastern Wisconsin. The lakeside Shore Path is dotted with Gilded Age mansions, many built by wealthy Chicagoans. Nearby, the 19th-century Black Point Estate and Gardens was the summer home of Chicago beer magnate Conrad Seipp. The Queen Anne–style house has Victorian furnishings. Local beaches include Big Foot Beach State Park, which has trails and picnic areas.

This is a must see when in the Lake Geneva area. Tristan is a great performer and showman. His smaller theater size brings you right up close and personal with the performers. This is a Vegas worthy show but a lot more intimate. Then adding to the experience after the show the performers engagement with the audience is top notch.
On our way into Lake Geneva, we stopped at the ‘Tristan Crist Magic Theater.’ I wasn’t sure what to expect from a magician in the middle of a corn field, so we were pleasantly surprised by a great show. Some of his tricks were amazing. Definitely Vegas quality! So next time you’re in Lake Geneva, don’t miss it!
Tristin's show was terrific. Offered a wide variety of magic, illusions, etc. with his assistant Shannon . Fun for adults as well as kids. Nice use of audience participation. Definitely recommend seeing it. Well worth the ticket price. This is Vegas type entertainment
As I sit here the following morning to write this review, two words will not leave my head. Those two words are phenomenal and wow! This was literally the best magic and illusionist show that I’ve ever seen in my life. Tristan is fantastic with kids. Not only the ones who volunteer to be on stage, but also with the ones who do the meet and greet with him following the shows. Quite frankly I don’t think I paid enough for the cost of admission to catch a show that was this absolutely phenomenal. Both Tristan and all of his show people have an absolute awesome stage presence. His staff inside the entrance area are equally as phenomenal with their kindness and courtesy. If you live in the Midwest, you should definitely attend the Tristan Crist Show in Lake Geneva Wisconsin. A truly phenomenal experience! By the way, where in the heck did you get that helicopter from?
This show was better than I expected, even with all.of the great reviews! It was an action-packed and very entertaining 90 minutes. Lots of interacting with the audience and all ages seemed to really enjoy the show. Tristan is very funny and very skilled! My husband and I.both really enjoyed it.
Great show! Everyone needs to experience the magic! My 7 y.o son wont stop talking about how cool it was.
My husband and I went here on our anniversary weekend trip. It was an amazing experience! You have to do this! I don't want to give too much away...lol. Atmosphere and staff were top notch. The show itself was indescribable We had chills! Tristan was very down to earth and so funny! PUT on list to do! Make sure you get tickets online way before you want to go because it sells out fast!!!
10/10 show, very entertaining and fun! Great facility and experience. Would recommend

It's a wonderful lake with an amazing view. You could park your car in front of the shore for 2$/hr and enjoy the beauty of the lake view.
Lake Geneva Shore Path – A Scenic and Serene Walk Through History Walking the Lake Geneva Shore Path was one of the most peaceful and inspiring experiences I've had. The trail wraps around the lake and gives you an up-close view of beautiful historic estates, charming gardens, and the crystal-clear water of Lake Geneva. Each section of the path has its own personality, from wooded stretches to lakefront mansions, and it’s amazing how every homeowner maintains their portion of the trail uniquely. There’s a real sense of history here—you can almost feel the stories behind each estate as you pass by. It’s a long walk if you want to do the full loop (over 20 miles!), but even walking a portion is well worth it. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water—there are a few uneven spots, but nothing too difficult. Highly recommend this for nature lovers, history buffs, and anyone looking for a relaxing, picturesque day outdoors.
Lake Geneva Shore Path runs along the entire lake. On the 26 mile path you’ll pass historic estates with beautifully sculptured gardens and landscapes. History serves that 2500 BC to 1836 AD Chief Big Foot and his Potawatomi tribe walked this path between their villages. The path has been preserved nicely by all the estate owners that live on the lake. The path is rugged in places made up of brick, wood, stones, boulders and slate. It’s an enjoyable walk with plenty of breathtaking views and colorful inlets that change in the seasons!
Beautiful path and great for a family walk. Wear good shoes because not all paths are smooth. Bring a camera to capture ideas for gardens and for butterflies and bumble bees.
We walked the path from the library and again from Williams Bay So much fun to see all the houses - Some parts of the trail are maintained better than others- but the worst we ran into were some mud puddles the day after a rain Thoroughly enjoyed the path
Love walking the Lake Shore Path. Especially in the fall time. Path goes completely around the lake, but has multiples places you can enter at. A peaceful walk. 💗
Love it! I feel so grateful that this trail exists. The views of the water, gorgeous homes, and beautifully landscaped areas are amazing. This is definitely more of a hiking trail, so it may not be a good option for those with limited mobility or anyone using a stroller. Access points are limited. We parked one car at our starting point and another at our end destination, and the stretch we walked was about six miles. There were no bathrooms and no easy ways to exit once on the trail, so plan ahead. Definitely worth the trip!
Lake geneva was definitely a beautiful place to explore. Loved the time we spent at the lake.

Amazing place. We really didn't know what to expect having never been to this part of the country before. We were very pleased and wonderfully surprised at this incredible setting. This is where all the rich and well off from Chicago would come and summer and or good cause, it truly is a relaxing and beautiful place. The lake is lined with mansions from a prior era, each with their own story to tell, some can be toured. The town is small and quaint and very welcoming to visitors and guests a like. We found many great places to eat and many activities to enjoy while vacationing here. The mail run boat is a must do for anyone coming here, was a major highlight for us, not just from watching the young runners performing superb feats of wonder to deliver the mail onto the docks from a boat that never stops, but also the wonderful history and stories told during the circling of the lake shore. We stayed at the old Playboy resort and found it charming with its own stories to tell. Fireworks show, nice rooms, even a ski run if you happen to be there in the winter. Here you can drive out on the lake in the winter as well, although one of the stories was about how several cars went through ice one year. So be careful.
Geneva Lake is such a beautiful spot to visit. The water is clear, the views are stunning, and the entire area feels relaxing and inviting. Whether you’re walking along the shore path, enjoying a boat ride, or just sitting by the lake, it’s a wonderful place to spend time. It’s definitely one of Wisconsin’s gems and worth a visit.
"Lake Geneva is such a beautiful place to visit! The lake path gives incredible views of historic estates, and the water is so clean and inviting. Perfect spot to relax and recharge."
The water is super warm, however you have to pay a beach entrance fee. Jet ski is about 140/hour and 6-seater boat is 350 for 2 hours
Geneva lake has to be one of the most clean and beautiful lakes in all of Wisconsin. There is a lake path that travels around the whole lake giving you views of lots of beautiful houses, flowers, gardens, beaches and much more. Definitely worth a visit and a walk. It's just over 21 miles around but easily can be broken into smaller sections.
First time on this Lake. Very nice. Fishing was slow. Boat ramp was very nice.$12 to launch. Surprisingly busy for a Tuesday with kids still in school. We were there at 10 a.m. and only five about 30 stalls were still available.
Wonderful place to relax and visit with family. Beautiful views of the lake all around

My kinda museum tour. We had a lovely host ( Rita) with a great sense of humor. She told us the history of the house along with the characters that occupied it. We were able to see 2 floors at this time and walk along the grounds. This mansion originally was 100 acres and now has about 6 acres. They are building another mansion next door. I believe a family heir who revived the beer receipt in 2022. There are 13 bedrooms and several bathrooms. Each room has a story to tell. We can only arrive by boat and walk up the 120 steps to the porch. Worth the time & money. Watch out for the boat when it pulls out. We got soaked in the rear. But the black point tour was awesome!
We had an amazing tour of the estate by docent Rita- she really made the trip special by making the history of the house feel so human and intimate. A beautiful historic home preserved and presented to the public with love. Thanks for a great day!
Took an afternoon tour of Black Point. Nice boat tour and estate tour. Lots of steps with no ramp. Would not recommend for disabled access. House needed some outside upkeep. However it was kept in the style of the former residents lived.
Highlight of our trip to Lake Geneva. Beautiful gardens, location. Walking through the house felt like we were walking through the past. Very cool. There were a lot of original details from the time the house was established. Highly recommended.
Nice tour, great docent. Worth your time. 127 stairs, so be prepared.
The boat ride offered a historically rich tour of the Lake Geneva summer homes. Black Point was the perfect, picturesque destination for this deep dive into the 'Newport of the West.' FYI, steps are not overtaxing for us.
We took the tour in conjunction with the Geneva Lake boat tour and had a fabulous time. Rita, our tour guide, was knowledgeable, patient, and a joy. She clearly loves her job and has a deep and empathetic admiration for the Seipp family! She made it worth it!
Beautiful mansion! The docent was so knowledgeable about the home and was open to questions along the way. It was so interesting to discover the last family memory of the Schlitz family gave the home and all it's contents, to the Wi Historical Society. There were old clothes and even corked bottles of extremely old medicines. Great tour! I really enjoyed myself as a solo member. (I absolutely LOVE that there was a PRIDE flag displayed on the mansion!)

This was a wonderful experience for my family. We went for my son’s eighth birthday. Everything was great across the board. We found the prices to be incredibly reasonable for everything. We were amazed! It was such a great time. My kids kept saying how nice everyone was that worked there was. The whole family loved the room, the kitchen with some essentials was a nice touch. The outdoor pool was my favorite part personally. The pool was deep enough for the adults to have fun and for the kids to stay safe as well. Life guards were attentive as well! Overall a great trip and hope to come back!
We had a wonderful time at Timber Ridge Lodge and Waterpark. Rooms were very clean and nice looking with fully equipped kitchens, Waterpark features slides, play areas and lazy river, there is an outdoor pool and a small mini golf course. Attractions include a fun arcade and a mini bowling area. We had a delicious meal at the Moose and Maple restaurant. The staff was super nice and helpful. The whole place was very clean and smelled fresh. The location is beautiful. Overall, 5 star experience. Highly recommended.
My party of 9 and I had a great time! We loved our two story room. We loved how peaceful relaxing on the balcony was. This kids loved the Waterpark. We did not try the restaurant. We ate at a restaurant 30 mins away in Delavan. There is a Piggly Wiggly 5 or so minutes away and that’s where we picked up our bday cake. Now sure some things could be restored. New toilets would be nice as they look old and worn. I noticed that the jacuzzi tub could use some attention. Also the furniture on the patio should be updated. All in all we had a good time! The fireplace is awesome too!
Great getaway for the family. The rooms are spacious, a 1 bedroom suite accommodated our family of 4 perfectly. Moose and Maple (their in-house restaurant) is a gem, great food and our waitress Betty was 10/10, especially with the kiddos. Water park is awesome, loved that they have a big area for the smaller ones. Wish we stayed longer because there's a lot to do! Don't forget about the gift shop area with ice cream. They had a PJ story time at 8pm in the lobby!! The staff is great. Highly recommend.
I’d rate this resort 4 out of 5 stars. The property is very clean and offers a lot of amenities, including an indoor water park, arcade room, and bowling lanes. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay, which made the experience even better. That said, there were a few drawbacks. The pillows and mattress were on the firm side, which made sleeping a bit uncomfortable, and the coffee in the general store was quite weak. In our room, the Jacuzzi bathtub only had one working jet, which was a little disappointing. Despite those minor issues, the resort overall is a great place to stay. Lake Geneva itself is beautiful, with lots of small shops to explore and a gorgeous walking path around the lake. Conveniently, right next door is the Grand Hotel, which has a Starbucks if you prefer stronger coffee. You can either take a quick drive or hop on the shuttle to get there. Overall, it’s a clean, family-friendly resort in a beautiful location, with just a few areas for improvement.
The waterpark was fine- the kids had fun and it wasn't busy until lunch time. The rooms that were being used as changing rooms and bathrooms were disgusting. Our room was terribly musty, the bathroom door was very damaged, the tub wouldn't drain so we were showering in a pool of dirty water in a tub that didn't look all that clean to me. There was a loose door stopper just rolling around. The gap between the fridge and counter in kitchenette was very dirty. It was all very run down. The ice maker on our floor was broken and when I went to front desk, they sent me to the third floor, when I feel that they should have asked me my room number and brought me a bucket of ice. Also, the glass door on the ice maker was covered in fingerprints and the tile floor looked as if someone started trying to break it up. We ended up cutting our trip short and leaving a day early because we just didn't want to spend another night in our room. The communication via text was excellent, but you need to have a clean, up to date resort to back that customer service.
I always say it's not the problem it's how people react and correct the problem. We checked into our room and the toilet did not flush. Engineer showed up within 20 minutes to fix it. Then took a bath and the cover for the jet came off and I was coated in a Grey film. The bathtub was also out of body wash. I also had to clean the tub since there was a grey film all over the tub. Luckily I brought soap. I called for it to be fixed. They fixed it the next day and took almost all morning for them to do so. We had bad service for breakfast the first day but we had amazing service for dinner and breakfast the next day. I cannot say enough about the servers we have for dinner and breakfast the next day. The jets in the indoor/outdoor hot tub are not working. Despite everything that happened we did enjoy our little get away.
I stayed here for my daughter’s birthday. We had the best time! The room was great, the waterpark was so much fun for the kids and the lifeguards were very attentive and the food was delicious!

This place is beyond magnificent! We are from Illinois but travel to Lake Geneva a lot and never knew this place was there. We spent well over an hour here and I know it’s so easy to spend hours here, but we had errands to do. We will definitely be back! There is SO much history here and the details in everything is absolutely stunning! And thank you to the older gentleman who followed us in the beginning to give us some very interesting history facts! The price is beyond great and a must see 🩵
The setup is done well for a smaller museum. It feels like you are stepping back in time. There are artifacts from the area. The Wizard room has some fun facts and memorabilia of one of the D&D creators.
This was a splendid little museum featuring the history of the region by turning your visit into a literal stroll down the streets of yesteryear. Shops, homes, and plenty more rooms to explore thoroughly. Kevin was there to answer any questions you might have. He is a really nice guy, so magnanimous and helpful! You ought to definitely put this on your list of things to do & places to see during your visit to Geneva Lake!! Thanks, Kevin!!
Local historic museum. A very visual museum with many interesting displays in comparison to a museum with a ton of reading to describe photos. We recommend for adults. Nice staff and meticulously maintained. Also, if you’re dungeons and dragons fan, they have a display for you. A fun stop well worth the $12 admission.
What an interesting place! Very hands on. Walk down a turn of the century street, in and out of the shops, the fire station, and a beautifully appointed home. The Kitchen is the most fun! Use the utensils from the early 1900's on one side, and the 20's and 30's on the other. Not to mention a school room, trains, Lake Geneva mansion artifacts and so much more.
The museum was amazing. I loved the exhibition, and the staff was friendly. The second floor was closed for renovation, so I couldn't see everything. But because of that, admission was free. I'm planning to return and see the whole museum.
What a pleasant surprise! Walked by this place on our way to go shopping and decided to stop in. Well done and bigger on the inside than the outside somehow! We learned so much history. Fun and interesting. Super nice staff, very helpful
Great museum, packed with local history, including the creation of Dungeons & Dragons.
