Museum
Historical landmark
Waterfront museum offering weekend tours of a 19th-century historic submarine, artifacts & exhibits.
Slide 1 of 8
Wow!! This museum is about a 10 minute drive from downtown Charleston but worth it. Only open to the public on the weekends. Staff-incredible. So friendly and excited to see I brought my children. She emphasized the amount of hands on displays designed for children. They were all great, well kept, and in working order. Using the hand cranks on the replicas were highlights for my children. The Hunley itself left all quiet and speechless. It is WELL taken care of and much better than what I imagined. The preservationists are hard at work! I will recommend to any history buff and teacher to visit!!
The museum is rather small, however it is packed with interesting and informative displays and artifacts. Especially the personal items found with the Captain on its fatal mission. The submarine itself is very well preserved and can be seen clearly in its display tank.
My husband is a Navy veteran and was really excited to see this exhibit. It was very educational and informative. There was a lot of cool exhibits that shed some light on a critical part of our nation's history. I knocked a point off because the Hunley is suspended in a glass tank (for good reason) but you can only view it from the top down through highly reflective glass. It would have been better if we could have seen it from the ground level so you could actually see more of the boat. Otherwise it was a great exhibit. The staff was friendly and helpful and ready to answer any questions. Restrooms were clean and just shop was well-stocked, albeit a little on the pricey side. Plenty of free parking, easy on, easy out.
I really enjoyed this and found it pretty informative overall. Good displays and great view of the Hunley in its tank. I would have liked to see (for other visitors) some information in regard to the science of the preservation process and how the neutralising solution actually works to prevent further corrosive action. I was also disappointed to hear a recorded narrative proudly state that this is a unique pioneering preservation technique - a world first, or similar words. Perhaps some recognition of the similar, earlier work conducted on the younger but no less significant ‘Holland 1’ submarine at Gosport, UK would be appropriate for historic accuracy? Check the chronology.
Private tour with very knowledgeable hosts. Replica of submarine manual propulsion was very interesting to show how the 7 sailors worked the ship.
This museum was absolutely the coolest thing we did while in town. The history of this sub is amazing and the folks there are super knowledgeable and have so much love for the Hunley. I've been watching videos and checking out pictures online for about a decade and seeing it in person is so much better. Definitely check this out! Additionally, keep an eye out for some hidden plastic army men. I've kind of left them all over Charleston! If finding a plastic army man brightens up your day, my mission is complete!
There is a lot of interesting history in this museum! We had a very nice time.
Really enjoyed the experience! Very well presented displays, videos, and a short lecture. A very vivid view of history.

Everything you need in one stop and shop. Not overly crowded. Open mall with indoor shops. Coffee Cologne Candles Jeans Sunglasses - plenty of room for walking. Safe. Definitely a good place to go
Most of the stores are just clothes and shoes. Some high end stores do not follow the discounts given by the tangers membership such as Victoria secret and Sephora amongst others, so check out the deals first. Maps are posted at each location for easily identifying the shop location which is very helpful. Restrooms are present. No shops for electronic items though. Overall an okay place to shop but a good place to hangout if shopping is not the primary goal.
Beautiful outlet. Great price and plenty of eatery around.
I really enjoy the outside shopping style that Tanger provides. There's always a breeze through there and the decor is always AMAZING! It's the perfect first date (coffee, shopping, lounging) and also a great place to bring your family! From Starbucks to Coach to getting your ears pierced at Claire's, it's all there in an outdoor, relaxed environment.
Tanger usually has the same stores and similar layout. Weather was nice for an outdoor shopping. Very walkable and not crowded. Stores were decent but no place had a wow factor.
Loved my visit to Tanger Outlets 🛍️ A day full of shopping, amazing deals, and lots of great finds. Definitely a perfect spot for fashion lovers! Found great things in their store Kate spade team very nice and kind
It was very good I've been there multiple times. Is a very good family place they even have shaved ice Stalls. Also a Buffalo wild wings right next to them. They have most of the stores you would normally find in outlets. I've never had a bad time there.
Great place for a visit, you'll find stores for everyone. If you in the area a visit is a must,

Nice! I took a walk at Riverfront Park this evening, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The environment is peaceful, clean, and beautifully maintained. The park offers stunning views of the Cooper River, especially during sunset. There’s a great mix of open green space, walking paths, and shaded areas, which makes it perfect for a quiet evening stroll or a relaxing picnic. The art installations and historical displays add a unique and thoughtful touch, and the breeze off the water makes the walk even more enjoyable. It feels safe and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere is calm and refreshing. Whether you're looking to exercise, enjoy the view, or simply relax by the water, this park is a hidden gem in North Charleston. I’ll definitely be coming back again soon — it’s now one of my favorite spots in the area!
This is such a nice spot ! It’s pet friendly ! Lots of space , nice peaceful views . I enjoyed the sculptures and the water feature. Even the huge historical mansion was Awesome. Definitely worth your time to stop and slow down a bit .
We attended the 2025 Holy Smokes BBQ Festival at the Park on 11/08/25. The large crowd was moved quickly through the entrance aspects of the day. Security was present but never oppressive. Local LEOs and volunteers were all friendly and welcoming. The 50+ vendors were excellent. The $95 ticket price initially seemed high but, in reality was well worth the price of admission. We stayed 3 hours and ate samples until we needed a nap due to food satiation. The Park itself is beautiful with great views of the water and Charleston horizon. Walking paths were everywhere with many benches available for rest or just viewing. We used Uber to and from the festival and that turned out to be wise as parking was limited.
Awesome park with phenomenal views. Beautiful on the river hosting great festivals ! Enjoyed my time on holy smokes festival and high tide music festival . Would definitely recommend stopping by to see the different historical sites as well
This place is amazing for a romantic stroll or to explore with your kids. Lots of boardwalk and sights and a playground for the kids, tons of places to have a picnic and multiple bathroom facilities. This is a new tradition in our family now!
Very nice place to come and enjoy a picnic! Let the kids play in the water splash pad area! Water front area with a dock Play area for the kids and a big grassy area for your dogs to play
Beautiful & clean park on the water. Ample parking and lots to see. A fishing pier that looks promising, we saw a few big Sheepshead swimming around the rocks. The Admiral's house is stunning and there are a lot of historical spots to check out and plaques to read. They also have a cute splash pad and play area for the little ones.
A beautiful place to come and visit if you want a little piece and quiet, but it all depends on the time and the day you come. I came on a Monday round 2:30 or 3 PM it was nice, not a lot of people. I walked a little, sat down on my walker on the dock to look at the ocean and listen to the sound of the ocean. I was out there just to get a piece of mind.

Craft brewery featuring a garagelike tasting room with a pool table & live music, plus free tours.
Slide 1 of 8
We may have found a new favorite brewery in the Charleston area! The space is massive, which allows for plenty of room to spread out and enjoy whatever kind of atmosphere you're looking for. We opted to sit outside on the patio, where we enjoyed beautiful weather, live music, and the simple pleasure of some good food and beer. The beer selection is extensive, so there's something for everyone to enjoy. We also ordered some food, and everything was delicious. We started with raw oysters, choosing the chef's dozen, and they were all fantastic. Then, we tried the tomato bacon jam burger with a side of fries, and it was spot on! The burger was flavorful, and the fries were amazing. We also decided to try a bloody mary and a bourbon oyster shooter for the first time both were unique and fun to try! The service was friendly, and the overall atmosphere was great. We’ll definitely be back!
First time stopping in. The oysters were amazing. The bartenders were great. Very attentive. Probably some of the best bar service we’ve had in a while. Each bartender was attentive and friendly. And of course, the local beer was awesome.
Unfortunately took away one star because I did not see any Stouts in their beer list. For a microbrewery this place brews a lot a different beers (20+), at least a lot more than I'm used to seeing. So it's surprising to me that absolutely none of them were stouts. Anyway overall this place was a very pleasant surprise and it's both bigger, with a lot more going on than you would expect from looking at it outside. This place does flights of four and Debbie/I got two flights. Her favorite was a Holy City pilsner and mine was a Pluff Mud porter. This place has both indoor and outdoor seating with a lot more outdoor seating and a field for games. They also have a pretty full kitchen here with all the pub grub that you would expect to see. One unique thing is this brewery owns 10 acres so during October they run a haunted trail.
Great venue for a ton of things. We’ve gone here for comedy shows, there was a wedding being held here the night I made this review, we came back recently for MashFest. It’s good for lunch or dinner. Staff does get backed up in the kitchen when things get busy, but the food is great, the beer is unique, and this place is kid-friendly. We got VIP tickets for MashFest and they were worth every penny ($82). Got the chopped cheese and Nashville Hot dry rub chicken wings when we went for dinner and recommend both. MashFest, however, presented some incredible food, supported local businesses, and really provided some exciting cuisine and artisan spirits.
Enjoy the beer and tasty food. The tomato bacon jam burger was delicious. Tip have lots of napkins ready because the burger is very juicy. Philly cheese steak sandwich was wonderful and cheesy along with the onion rings. You feel welcome. This restaurant is for everyone in a large area with lots of seating inside and out.
I'd say the food was a 3 but the environment is so top notch that I can't NOT give it at least 4⭐s! My husband has been raving about this place so it was finally time to try. The brewery is an indoor/outdoor place so everyone can find somewhere to sit to be happy, but it doesn't stop there! There's a raw bar, huge traditional bar, arcade area, massive patio, gorgeous dock, picnic tables galore and it's very organized. We have 2 small kids and I foresee many nights out for us in the near future since there's so much space for them to play while we enjoy a beverage or two. We were here for lunch, so it was light. I had the turkey burger and it was ok. I wish there was more of the aoili it the patty was bigger to fill the bun better. My daughter ended up eating most of it though, so clearly it was good in her eyes! My friend had the Chicken BLT and it was a bit salty. The kids shared the chicken nuggets and neither of them liked them. They were a little dry, but I still enjoyed them! The shining star of the meal was the fry basket we shared. They were perfectly seasoned and crispy. The fries were served with a sweet sauce that was not quite honey mustard, but more than mayo. It was pretty good though! Honorable mention to somewhat good ranch and good honey mustard. 👍 Next time I'll be getting an adult beverage and maybe trying some of the apps instead.
First time here, definitely coming back! Beer garden has plenty of tables and room, dining room/ bar has plenty of seating and is well kept. I chose the gleezy hotdog, the gleezy sauce is a mustard/BBQ sauce with a little spice,my wife got the smash burger with collision fries, cheese sauce and ranch with bacon crumbles. All three dishes were delicious and came out fast. The bar staff was very professional and prompt, no chance of running out of beer here.
Another fun brewery with great beer and a great bartender. We had our first boiled peanuts which we have heard so much about in the south. Too bad we were here a day too early to find a T-shirt. Their next shipment arrives tomorrow. If you visit, can you find our sticker?

Museum
Specialty Museums
Museum on fire history featuring interactive exhibits & over 20 antique firefighting vehicles.
Slide 1 of 8
By far the best Fire Museum I've been to. I love the interactive exhibits, and the children's play area in the center. There are hands on displays that are very interactive. My favorite displays are the Snorkel and the interactive exhibits plus the pressurized hose display (what it's actually like to hold a pressurized hose line).
The Charleston Fire Museum may be small, but it's a gem! It offers fascinating insights into the history of firefighting, with engaging exhibits that are both informative and enjoyable. A great place to learn something new!
Great atmosphere the customer service is phenomenonal. The museum is amazing the price to enter is very reasonable. There is alot to explore and learn for children and adults. Did not post all pictures you will have to visit to see.
I have been to several fire museums across the US and this was one of the best. It's a very clean, well organized collection. There are plenty of interactive elements for younger children. Nice place to go to on a rainy day.
Can not recommend enough!!! Very informative! Interactive displays with some very cool trucks. Great for kids and adults. Staff was so friendly and helpful.
The fire museum was absolutely wonderful. The volunteer staff who are also fire fighters were very informative and always ready to answer any questions you might have.
Large selection of fire trucks and fire badges. Very clean and well taken care off.
This is so fun museum for both kids & adults. There are a lot of interactive activities and a small play area for kids. If you haven't gone here, yet you should. It was so neat to see how far technology had come.

Concerts & Shows
Indoor stadium & adjacent theater where thousands watch minor league hockey, concerts & plays.
Slide 1 of 8
This venue is amazing for concerts. The place is perfect. Greta onsite parking. Only $10 to park. The $10 lot is covered so you can hang out even if it is raining. The floor entrance is super easy no issues getting on and off the floor. Superb venue
Recently visited to see Beauty and the Beast on Broadway and it was amazing! We had great seats and it was easy to navigate. Staff were friendly and helpful. They had paid parking onsite that wasn't a far walk. I would definitely visit for a show again.
Went for a concert. Easy to get in and out. Close walking distance to several surrounding hotels. Very cold inside and no cup holders. Not a bad place for a show though.
Great arena for a show. Acoustics & sight lines were fine. Concourse narrow but manageable. Easy access to parking & ride shares.
Pros: 1. The parking is reasonably priced. 2. It's easy to buy tickets at the box office and save the fees. Cons: 1. Ridiculously small bag size. I've been to many different types of venues from Broadway to sporting events at various locations and never had to deal with this size. I had a 4 X 6 phone wallet and was told to open the 2 sections and take out a couple of mints. What could I possibly hide??? 2. We had tickets that included an aisle seat. When we got inside the section where our seats were was closed. We were given new seats and told there were no aisle seats available. Then before the show started they opened our section and others were sitting in our seats. 🤨
Nice venue. Food prices were reasonable. My son and I came to see the Charlotte hornets and Champion OKC preason game. We had excellent seats and it was a sell out. Only disappointment was we didn't know that none of the starters for OKC would play or even come to the game.
Had a blast seeing Phish for 3 days. Probably one of the best venues I've been too for an indoor show in that area. The staff were a big help as well since im disabled. Had an elevator and everything to make it easy to get in and out!
I'm sure it's great for Hockey games, but for a concert it was cold and loud. Easy in and out of the venue. Wasn't happy that I paid $5.50 for a bottle of water and they put it in a cup without a lid. It was hard to carry and not spill as your maneuvering past people and there is little to no difference between a plastic cup and a plastic bottle.
