This was already one of our favorite casinos along our road trip from MN to FL but now the hotel is open ! Amazing. I've been all over the USA this may be the nicest suite yet . The jackpot suite. With an amazing view of the Mississippi River and the biggest TV ever seen it's unmatched. The casino is a good one. They have all the table games you love. All the slots. We have hit good ones here before. The fine dining was really good steak. Allison took good care of us and was very attentive to our needs. No jackpots this time but for me it's not all about winning money it's about the experience. We did hit a 10k one before here. Thanks guys great job on the new hotel. The room is at the top pictured here
Came to town for the freedom fest to see Sam Barber last night. Amazing show put in to support veterans. Kind people. Easy going atmosphere.
This is a great get away location in a charming river city. The hotel and casino are very clean and welcoming. The staff here were the best. Everyone was so polite and professional. There are plenty of opportunities to check out historic areas and enjoy an old river city down town area. There are great dining options as well.
Good atmosphere, they try to keep up with the latest slots. The food is really good and the view of the Mississippi River is awesome from the restaurant and the north and east facing hotel rooms. Staff is very friendly but sometimes ( 85% ) they're slow to respond to the slot machines when you encounter a problem. Overall, I recommend.
Terrible experience. I am an avid player at this establishment and lost big money that night. Came to customer service desk at around 2:40am and couldn’t get any help in regards to points/comps. Tried getting help from other staff and got nowhere said that it was closed and everyone went home for the night, yet the gaming tables and everything else was open. Get it together!!! if you’re offering gaming services you should offer customer support as long as you’re taking money in. Will take my gaming elsewhere.
Great overnight getaway for us. Our 2nd trip. Beautiful, clean hotel, great dinner at Beacon 53, great staff, and the casino was alot of fun!
Always fun to kill some time once in a while and try a hundred bucks or so. Got super lucky twice now and hit TWO, yes TWO freaking Royal Flushes on two different video poker machines at the bar!!!!
This is probably the best casino within 150 miles of it. It has a mix of old and new vibes, from the games to the atmosphere. Smoking is allowed in the whole place, which is a plus for us. The wife and I make it here about once a month and enjoy the game selection. I favor the more classic slots and she likes the newer ones. There are free soda fountains when we prefer not to drink hard, and the place is super clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only thing that keeps this place from the 5-star rating is that we both love live music and you can only catch it on Saturday night. Walker's Bluff Casino has it every Friday and Saturday, usually two artists each night, back to back. I would like to see music other nights besides just one.

Good amount of product on shelf, large variety, price varies from low to high according to brand name and quality of product, good customer service, enjoyable experience altogether, and the checkout process was smooth and easy on my part
I'm not sure if the chain or the owners of this store even care anymore but I would give zero stars if possible. Went to pick up a needed prescription yesterday 1/16/25 that had been called in previously in the day (6 hrs), only to encounter a tech at the counter who was barely understandable to say my prescription would not be available til the next day. Fast forward to 1/17/25 at 4:30pm I went to retrieve my much needed prescription (after receiving the email that it was ready) only to find that the entire pharmacy had been closed due to an emergency. How does a multi billion dollar company manage to stay in business without being able to deliver medication to the sick ? It really only takes one look at the condition of the property with trash strewn across the parking lot and the main trash receptacle at the entrance overflowing, to expect that the service offered in the business reflects that. I wouldn't recommend this location to go buy a band-aid ! Ratings are a true reflection of your staffs efforts. Never again !!!
This is an insurance issue but it’s also a Walgreens issue. 4 weeks ago I ran out of my birth control… No texts from Walgreens so I waited and waited. I waited cause I know that they’re short staffed and I’m sure with tariffs, shipments are delayed. Finally I got a text saying a prescription was ready last week. Thought it was my birth control. Turns out it was another medicine I take. While I was picking it up I asked about my birth control and they told me that the insurance had changed where I needed to get my birth control. I hadn’t received any messages from Walgreens before that day (after I asked) saying that there was anything wrong. If I had known 4 weeks ago I would have gotten it figured out. But the lack of communication despite having texts set up is disappointing. Not to mention, this is the only location I have ever had issues with getting ANY prescriptions at. There’s an issue every time I go. Either with communication, or the fact that one time they gave my prescription to the wrong person and I always worry that’ll happen again. We got that sorted but it took me asking for proof that they gave it to the wrong person for them to do anything about it. I’m convinced if I hadn’t said anything that I would’ve been screwed over for a month. I know it’s petty to bring this up when it’s been awhile since it happened but honestly with all the problems I’ve had I felt I should be honest in my review about the issues I’ve had.
Absolutely disappointed with the service here this morning on sept 4. I always bring in my tip money to load onto my cash app, I have never ever had an issue with any other employee, and IF it was anissue they could of just politely refused my transaction and moved on. Why this lady in the red shirt decided to belittle me and be rude the entire transaction instead of saying it wasn't possible to do the transaction is beyond me. Absolutely rude employees this morning and beyond disappointed.
This isn't so much a review as a question that I can't get answered. Why is the pharmacy always closed? When I stop to get my medicine, more than 4 different times it has been closed. Can they not hire a dependable pharmacist?
No compassion for their customers. They get disrespectful if you have an issue. God forbid you call them out, they’ll “close out” your prescriptions! Also, pharmacy hours are not reliable. 20 years of business with them. No more!
A year ago I would have given them a five-star rating. And honestly, Walgreens pharmacy still has wonderful pharmacists, kind and courteous techs, and nice, helpful staff. However, I'm concerned about this store. I have been going here since 2015 and I have seen some significant changes like the shelves not being stocked and faced. I went today to pick up my prescriptions and I had a list of other items I wanted to buy. Some shelves were completely bare. I just wanted some Gas-X or the generic. None. Matter a fact, that entire section looked empty. Seriously, are you guys going out of business?
Went in to add money to my chime card. Was quick and painless

This is a fantastic place to visit and get in touch with nature. The trails are so beautiful. I just love the pond with so many lily pads. I took a video, but can't edit until I get home. Here are some pictures of things I saw inside that were interesting. There are many more awesome things that I did not photograph. This is a beautiful place to visit. When I'm in town, it's number 1 on my to do list. 11-22-24 I posted a lot of YouTube shorts on my YouTube channel Heart of Tamara.
The Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center is located just north of the city of Cape Girardeau. There is a very nice museum there with great displays of early native Americans and early settlers as well as fish aquariums and snake displays. Several trails go through wooded areas and are worth taking if you have the time. Note: The ridge top trail is paved and is normally wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately excavation on an adjacent property currently has mud runoff over the trail that interferes with safely using the trail after any rainfall.
Great place for a road trip pit stop. Beautiful indoor museum with lots of interactive exhibits and a handful of adjacent outdoor nature trails ranging from easy to hard. The hard trail is STEEP, so mentally prepare yourself for that - but beautiful nonetheless. We saw 2 turtles and a toad, too.
Nature Center is fantastic for families or if youre just looking to get out of the house and out of the crazy weather. Facility is 5 star clean from exhibits to bathrooms. Receptionists are friendly and very helpful. Plenty of nature / conservation resources including surrounding state parks and trails in the SEMO region. I literally was able to take a small bag of content home for further research and outdoor planning (biking and kayaking). I did not reap the map prior to hitting the Nature Center trails and attempted to bike the Tulip Trail (orange) -- Bikes are not allowed. Even if they were Id recommended wearing a helmet and advise to go as slow as possible due to the steep hills. Hiking the trails is great, even on a Heat Advisory day - 90+ degrees the trails provided so much shade that I was able to still enjoy the walk plus all the available benches helps too. The outside loops = 1 mile but with the hills it certainly feels longer than that. Go early in the mornings or on cooler weather days if heat and or hills are not your friend. Pack plenty of water and bring a friend or fur baby. I did have a man stop and share a bench with me and luckily he was a gentleman and shared nearby trail info. But if your a solo female, be aware and be cautious cause the trail doesn't have high traffic.... The trail does connect to Cape LaCroix Recreational Trail and they do have a bike rack near the Nature trail access point. Ridgetop Trail is paved with several mudslide spots.
We didn't get a chance to check out the trails, but we did enjoy the center. There are a variety of different exhibits and kid friendly activities as well.
They are getting trail medallions for hiking sticks soon (think early 2022) but we enjoyed a nice mild 1 mile hike. We stopped in at the main building, but our main goal were the trails behind it. There are multiple short loop and out-and-back trails here included a "disability accessible" trail that is paved and wide enough to accommodate most anyone. The "outer loop" includes part of their most difficult trail that is only difficult due to the slopes that must be traversed. Beautiful in the fall. It's also covered in informational signs and markers. Perfect for younger kids. For those nearby, it does connect with the Cape La Croix trail (paved from what I could see) on the back end of the Paw Paw Valley trail.
This park has miles of well maintained trails along with a state of the art nature center that has numerous educational areas and activities for kiddos. We come here multiple times a week and always find something new inside or outside. The photo is of the swamp on one of the trails. If you zoom in, you can see a turtle sitting on the log.
I stopped at the Nature Center before walking the trails and was a little surprised that the Center was so children-oriented. But I still had a good time walking the nature trails - Ridgetop, Paw Paw, Sinkhole, Tulip, Wood Duck, Cottonwood, and Maple Hollow. I would return to these trails if I lived in the area.

Mo was my favorite. He was well worth the money I paid to meet and spent time with him. Even though I didn't get to hold him. I talked to him and petted him. He was a good listener and made me laugh. I miss him but yet happy he has a new home. I bought a seasonal pass which I live close to the zoo and went alot and got my money worth. Some people thought I worked there because I was there almost every day it was open. But that's what u can do with a seasonal pass...... it's good for that year . Even everyday if u want to go. So this year I look fwd to seeing grandma the goat and gus the alligator. The animals are wonderful ❤.
We've been to many places like this safari park and this one just did not compare. First, we maybe spent an hour here, if that, which just doesn't justify the $40+ ($11 for adults, $9 for children plus tax) to enter with our family of four. Second, it was a very hot day with minimal shade to get away from the blistering sun. Third, be very careful when entering the goat petting zoo area. These guys were VERY hungry and swarmed us as soon as we entered. They ended up getting stuck in the little gate area before you enter the actual petting zoo area. I had to lift my 5 year old out of the area because they were just too much for her to handle. We then went into the barn area where there were more animals to feed and see. There was a big fan blowing in there but it was still pretty hot. There was a good number of different animals to see in there which was nice. Our favorite part of the safari park was petting and feeding the kangaroo. We then walked out over to the large area of animals out in front but most of them were too far out in the field to see. All in all it wasn't a terrible place to go I just think the price of admission is a bit high for what you get.
I agree with several of the reviews in that this place is SUPER overpriced on the entry fees. The feed price was ok.we liked all the animals. Some had little if no information on what they were. We didn't go into the petting zoo for obvious reasons. I wasn't going to pay an extra 10$ to ride a camel. That should have been in on the entry fee. There was another fee to hold animals and mining. They advertised an alligator but there wasn't one. We liked the birds and the Kangaroos. The lemurs we're fun to watch and feeding the animals was fun. Not a horrible place but definitely not worth the price.
Great place for kids. The goat pen is a little rough for little little ones, suggest 5yo or older for that, everything else great for my 2yr old especially feeding the animals.
Great family time, one of the best places to take kids and animal lovers to visit. They have a gift shop with drinks, snacks, ice cream and more. You can purchase bags of feed for the goats and deer. And sticks of Bird seed for the bird cage. We are regulars after our 1st visit. Highly recommend if in the cape area.
Great Place for Family Fun. We had a blast and at a reasonable price. Most of the animals were friendly and could be petted and feed.
Awesome little petting zoo. We had such a threat family time here. Adults were like $9 and you could buy food bags and treats to feed the animals. Lots of animals to see. We had such a blast in the goat area. Deer zebra camels llama bunnies too. Definitely recommend. You only need one hour and you will have a blast I think we stayed 2 hours. They have picnic tables to sit and rest and bring a lunch...they did have snacks in the concession / souvenir area and water.
I used Google Maps/Directions to get back into it. Once there you drive past the residence up to the Barn where you'll see the Store. In addition to purchasing Tickets you have the pleasure of buying a sack of feed to feed the animals behind the red fencing. Follow the instructions on each fence. There are some animals on a specific diet. Flat hand feeding. Remember that line. The Hogs and large Bird's, feed them on the ground. Some of the Kid's are loose and they look very lovable. Don't let your guard down! No matter how sweet the little things appear, I assure you they will chow on your favorite item of clothing or anything else you may have that catches their eye. 😁 Nothing to fear as they were gentle as their natural instinct was acting itself out. The large Bird's are the only "caution" I'd send out. If you've seen a chicken peck think x 100 with the large birds. Even though feeding the Deer, the Kangaroo, the Goats was fun as they came to meet us, going into and walking through the Parakeet Sanctuary was the most unique for me. You can get sticks for them but you are in their domain once you enter the second door. 🐦

Really fun water park especially for the kids, had some awesome slides but I kept getting stuck in them, maybe not enough water pressure pushing me along, lazy river was my favorite. Make sure you bring a see-through bag or they will not let you in. Baby bags are acceptable tho, the lockers were cheap to rent and came in handy. More fun for kids than adults, had 3 large slides that were decent. Staff was really friendly and lifeguards were posted making you feel safe.
First off, if there is so many people in your park, and there is nothing for new arrivals to do, you shouldn't take their money for them to just stand around in the hot sun. Second off, there is a serious lack of lockers for the amount of people you let in the park. I went today to have a fun time in the water on a hot day, instead I wasted my money to sit down baking in the hot sun in an overcrowded water park with nothing for me to do. I wasted my money and I'm very upset about it. I paid money to sit in the hot sun and wait. And when the people kept pouring through the door, and the lines stayed completely stationary, I decided to just go back home. I wasted my money, it should be illegal to take peoples money when there is nothing for them to do. Instead of a fun day, I paid to sit at cape splash in 100 degree weather and never got the chance to do anything. If I could rate 0 stars, I would.
Hadn’t been there in a while, saw there was a clear bag policy, showed them the inside of my black bag, which included a towel and undergarments, the very short, blonde, melancholy female worker didn’t seem to care and still had my leave my bag and take my bra and underwear out where all the public could see, very embarrassing. If you don’t like your job then go somewhere you truly enjoy, she also wasn’t very nice to my 6 year old. Don’t want to assume that I was being racially profiled but it felt like it, my kids are all mixed and their white friends dad stood there and paid his way in, when I walked up to pay for my kids, they asked me not once but twice if I was in charge of all of them, I said yes but the other kids dad had paid his way in. Tired of the shenanigans. Hire a better, friendlier, attentive and more motivated staff, mistakes like this can land a lawsuit.
Negligent Teenage Lifeguards: A Tale of Caution - Please Read and Be Warned I am generally an understanding person and recognize that everyone can have moments when they don't perform at their best. However, when it comes to saving children from drowning, I believe there should be a higher standard. I want to share a recent experience at Cape Splash Family Aquatic Center as a cautionary tale. My family—my husband, our 7-year-old nonverbal autistic son, our 4-year-old son, and myself—arrived before the park opened. A very eager security guard quickly ushered us through the metal detectors. He seemed eager to enforce the new rules and policies. We headed straight to the designated area for young elementary school aged children. My children were playing there while my husband watched over them. I briefly left to use the restroom, not wanting to leave him alone with both boys for long, as they can be quite energetic. When I returned, I saw my husband with my 7 year old shouting in a panicked tone at our 4-year-old to stop and get back. I looked and realized that our son was climbing the 2-foot wall separating the kiddie area from the "Vortex" pool. Suddenly, the current in the vortex swept his feet out from under him. He was underwater and unable to regain control of his body—this constitutes drowning. There were three lifeguards within a few feet of the scene, yet none of them noticed what was happening. My husband screamed "Get him" just before our son went under, but the lifeguards did not react. It wasn't until my husband began shouting and cursing that one of them finally moved. The lifeguards froze and only reacted after the situation became urgent. Fortunately, our son was under water for only about three seconds. The park's manager later told me that as long as a swimmer is rescued within 15 seconds, it counts as a "good save." I strongly disagree—any amount of time drowning is dangerous, and I shudder to think how long he might have been under if my husband hadn't reacted. This incident highlights a major failure: the park did not inform guests of critical safety rules, such as the 15-second rescue window or the importance of keeping children within arm's reach of their guardians. No parents were following this rule. There are lounge chairs surrounding the kiddie area, presumably for parents to sit on while their children play, out of arms reach. The rules were only spoken of after the incident, seemingly as a way to protect the establishment from liability, not to prevent accidents. Furthermore, there was barely any acknowledgment from staff or management that my son was in the initial stages of drowning. It was as if they didn't fully recognize how serious the situation was until it became urgent. The "Vortex of Death" is barely separated from the kiddie area and is easily accessible—as my son demonstrated. The lifeguards, mostly teenagers, were negligently watching this dangerous zone without proper oversight. Do you want teenagers protecting your children from a deadly whirlpool? They failed to respond promptly to our son's distress, and it seems that in Cape Splash, there is an accepted amount of drowning that must occur before it is considered "not a good save" or "actual drowning." The standards for response are dangerously low. The security guard's overzealousness and aggressive removal of my husband only added chaos to an already dangerous situation. It was frustrating and unnecessary, especially considering the neglect of basic safety protocols and attentive supervision. Afterward, the manager gave us passes to return on a different day, but I remain hesitant about bringing my children back. My husband and I are considering bringing one child at a time so we can be extra vigilant because we cannot rely on the lifeguards to ensure our children's safety. This experience has been a stark reminder of the importance of vigilant, proactive supervision and the critical need for trained, responsive lifeguards. Please be cautious and aware if you decide to visit this facility.
Although staff was very friendly, there was so much chlorine in the water that it turned my sterling silver jewelry black within seconds of being in the water. As a pool owner, I know there are safer levels of chlorine and the other chemicals that are effective that aren't harsh on you skin and clothes/jewelry. Do the employees that handle the chemicals not have to attend training course? Or are them letting the kids add what they want? I've been every summer since it opened and this is the first year I've gotten out feeling chemically dried out and my hair and skin felt horrible.
You must have a clear bag plus they have a security guard who acts like you violated him having a tote bag - or worse a fuzzy cookie monster bag like the CHILD in front of us. Since we were not provided with information like locker availability, we left. It looks nice from the outside though.
Nice water park, will not come back due the clear bags situation, I paid $30 for 2 bags, but everyone brought Walmart and dollar general bags, which they could of told me they were allowed, I would of gone to the store and got a few. I heard it was a nice park so I drove an hour and half to get here, otherwise I would of turned around and went home.
My family came here for the first time. Very poorly maintained water park. The bathrooms are absolutely DISGUSTING every toilet i tried to use was full of pee/poop and toilet paper all over the floor. Only 2 showers with a curtain to actually get undressed and shower off and one didn't even work. I told a blonde hair girl and she gave a wide eyed ooooook. I said oooook tell someone so it can be fixed and actually used! There should be someone going around making sure they are suitable for the whole day! Now for the pool every slide was completely covered in mold, the only spot without mold was the one where the bodies continue to slide. $75 to swim in a moldy pool, not cool! The lazy river was ok aside from almost every float was almost out of air. I think for the amount if money the receive all day the park could be A LOT cleaner.

This is a basic park with limited amenities but it offers great views of the bridge and the Mississippi River. There was a covered table and cenent sidewalks around the park.
Nice park, quiet. Pretty pedestrian friendly, great riverfront views from anywhere above the main road. Lots of dining and bars nearby as well.
A must see while in town. A perfect photo taking opportunity!
Pleasant little park.. we are from Wisconsin, looked for a little park to visit along the Mississippi and found this. As we sit here on a park bench, it is a warm, breezy July 3rd. We sat for a long while watched flat boats transport their scrap metal cargo.. navigating the river. The sound of birds and cars on the bridge above the place we sat.
It's a neat little park with lovely views. It looks like they are constructing something new in the park too but I don't know exactly what it is. Just a little way down river is downtown with some shops and restaurants. There is also a flood wall that has some neat artwork on it. It's worth checking out.
This a cool little spot. Can walk around, look at that big river, take pics. Lots of murals, little plaques everywhere talking about stuff. Saw a bunch of teens taking pictures.
A very nice place to walk right up to Mississippi River. Also a great view of the bridge that crosses into Illinois. Easy parking too.
