We had a great time at the butterfly house, they have so many different butterflies from all over the world. If you sit still long enough they might land on you. The staff were very kind, knowledgeable, and pleasant. They also have other insects as will, a wide variety of cockroachs can be seen. My husband loved it but I wouldn't go near the case. Also spiders and walking sticks. You can also venture outside to the butterfly and bee garden. I highly recommend you stop in, the area is very nice with a great park within walking distance.
Butterfly Park was such an amazing experience! 🦋 I got to see all kinds of butterflies, and some even landed on me 🥰 It felt so magical. The whole place is super cute for a date, and the trees along with the little waterfalls inside made it feel dreamy and beautiful. Truly a wonderful spot that people of all ages can enjoy — peaceful, charming, and so worth visiting!
The Butterfly House in St. Louis is such an underrated gem. It’s largely underlooked as things to do in St. Louis. This spot is a large and lush conservatory filled with many different types of butterflies. They just flutter around with so much grace living their best lives. There’s numerous waterfalls and places you can sit down. It truly calms your soul. There are flowers everywhere and exotic plants you don’t see everywhere else. Make sure you keep your grubby little hands off these butterflies. They are for looks only.
We always have a great time here. When coming with other kids there's the playground, carasoul, you can easily make your trip as short or long as needed. It's great for visits with older relatives also because it doesn't have to take long, plenty of places to sit, and indoors. You don't want to touch the butterflies but sometimes they land on you which is always special!
The most Magical and beautiful place! Extra exhibits, plenty of parking and area to stretch your legs and kids to play. A cute little gift shop too.
This is a fun experience. Small enough to be quaint and feel somewhat private, but holds a big experience that we were sad to leave so quickly. recommend stopping for butterfly kisses!
The butterfly house is perfect for seniors with dementia. It is stimulating but not overwhelming and the wide paths allow for wheelchair access. Most of all, the staff is excellent.
We love the butterfly house! Every aspect of this facility is well maintained and cared for. The butterflies are so active and loved by the staff that tend to them. The plants are beautiful, and the photo opportunities seem endless. Their gift shop is very fun too!

I had sooooooooo much fun at this place . Had no idea this place was located in the same area as the butterfly 🦋 house . Only had to Wait about 5 minutes to get on and the ride lasts 5 minutes and it’s costs only 2 dollars and 50 cents to go for a ride. It goes pretty fast and they also have vintage toys inside to buy and also if you are thirsty they do have soda 🥤 and water 💧 avilable to buy to drink . The staff is very nice and polite and professional and helpfully . This perfect for a putting with your family and friends . I highly recommend it and it sure was a lot of fun. We booked the party room for my daughter’s first birthday party. The party room and carousel were wonderful. Everyone had fun. From the time we arrived we were reminded no less than 20 times by Jay and Anne that there was another party after ours, so we would have to clean up quickly, which we were already prepared to do as that’s what it said in the contract we signed. The extra rushing was not appreciated. At one point before the carousel started moving our daughter was getting fussy so my husband picked her up off the horse and held her. Anne, who was operating the carousel at the time, started directing us over the loud speaker that one of us should sit on a horse and put her on it in front of us. When we ignored her suggestion she proceeded to get up onto the carousel and approach us, still over the loud speaker, to tell us again what she thought we should do. When we dismissed her again she told us she was a nurse and it won’t be her fault if our daughter falls and busts her head open. As a nurse myself, I found her behavior annoying, embarrassing, and unprofessional. My daughter stopped crying and happily rode on the horse with us standing next to her as soon as the carousel started moving again.
Beautiful fun carousel ride. My granddaughter loves it. Only $2.00 a person and a taste of childhood! It's indoors too.
This historic carousel is an absolute delight to visit, especially with children. The horses move up and down except for the outermost ones, and there are even a few deer if you feel like riding a different animal. If you plan to visit more than a few times, consider a membership which gets you unlimited rides for a year and is great for families with small children. The staff are always pleasant, and the carousel is a great option if you need a relatively short excursion with your little ones.
Cool little piece of St. Louis History and only $2 to ride per person.
The residents of Dolan Memory Care Homes LOVE going to the carousel. The staff is always attentive to the needs of people with dementia.
Brought my brothers and all of us enjoyed the ride down memory lane. We grew up going to the St Louis Highlands and riding the carousel. One of the attendants heard us remembering and she brought out an old photo of the Highlands. She made our day extra special.
Across from the Butterfly House...small venue, with a gift shop. The staff/volunteers are AMAZING! 98 year-old carousel with an interesting history. 15 miles per hour around-and-around ya go! Fun experience and worth a stop if you are at the park.

This place has a good amount of restaurants to choose from and a really nice outdoor stage with plenty of covered or uncovered areas to sit. The astroturf is nice and they have a few yard games out for you to play. After winter I know I'll be making a few nights to come here and try a few of the restaurants and sit outside and enjoy the weather. The stage is a nice size and has a big led screen I have seen them showing some football and hockey games. It's definitely a place to come spend a few hours if you remember the outdoor mall setup it used to be years ago. It's gonna be such a nice place to enjoy some time with your friends and with some pretty good amount of space for plenty of folks.
This place is the berries. Family Fun all the way around, catch the game, it's a cool place family's, kids, soccer moms who still play, plenty of food (what ever you can ask for really.
It's new and still expanding but was a fun place to shop, eat, drink and watch sports.
The District in Chesterfield has a fun, easygoing vibe that really surprised me. It opened in 2021, but the space itself has a bit of a backstory. It used to be the Taubman Prestige Outlets, which never quite found its footing and eventually shut down. Instead of letting the place sit empty, developers gave it a fresh start and turned it into a lively mix of restaurants, entertainment venues, and hangout spots. Now it feels more like a destination than a shopping center, with places to eat, drink, play, and catch live music. I was there for a team night with my colleagues, and it turned out to be a great pick. Everyone found something they liked, whether it was food, drinks, or games. Parking was a breeze too, which made things easier since we all came in separate rental cars. I grabbed a beer from 4Hands and a burger from Hi-Pointe, both solid choices. We caught part of the game on a big screen, wandered around a bit, and just enjoyed the evening. It felt relaxed and welcoming, like a place you could come back to with friends or family and have a completely different experience each time.
I went to The District to watch a pickleball event at the newly opened pickleball courts at The District. The place was AMAZING!!! Nice courts!! A really well-run business. I would join if I lived closer. Awesome experience!!
The District in Chesterfield is a place i have only been to twice and each time i discovered something else to love about it. The Factory is here and it is a great place to see a concert. Bigger than the Pageant but not as big as The St.Louis Music park or The UmB pavillion. It feels intimate while still feeling like a big time show. The sound is fantastic. If you have time before seeing a concert than head past the venue and there is a really cool little ecosystem of shops, places to eat and lil hip bodegas. You can't visit just once or you definitely will miss something worth seeing or doing. If you don't know than you have to go.
There's SO much parking here. I love how there were many options for drinks too. We stopped by before a show next door and it was a great place to kill time.
Great place to shop, eat and watch the game on the big screen.

Such a great park on so many levels. this is a place you can go to over and over again because there is so much to explore... from the antique carousel - which is still in working order --- the little historic antique village - the butterfly park - and so much more... As they say - something for everyone!! PLUS - much of it is FREE - except the Butterfly park --- and a mere $2 to ride the beautiful carousel... I can't say enough about this historic gem!!! Grab the kids and the dog - and just GO!!!
I was looking for a good hiking spot and Google suggested Faust Park in Chesterfield. It was my first time checking it out, but unfortunately the trails weren’t in great shape. Even though Google maps shows them as connected, there’s no real way to do a full loop. Bit of a letdown, but the park itself has potential.
This review is about the jack o’lantern trail around the historic buildings in Faust park that we did in October. The event is best suited for families with little kids. Lots of trick or treat stops and plenty of stories to hear. The butterfly conservatory was also decorated and open past its usual 4 pm closing time.
We came for a field trip and it was so interesting and fun! The kids loved the big playground, but we also got to tour the cabins and learn about life growing up in the 1800's. We even got to churn butter amd then tasted it. The ladies who helped with the tour buttered crackers for everyone and brought it to us in the pouring rain! We also made candles straight from the wick by walking around in a big circle and dipping the wick over and over! Our kids also rode the carasoul, which they enjoyed!
I was at Faust Park to ride the Riverfront Dinner Cruise. The dinner was tasty (greens salad with Ranch dressing, shrimp over fettuccini Alfredo, and cheesecake for dessert) and the staff was warm and friendly. We were entertained by the band, Other Mother's Bros, who played a variety of 70s rock and country. They were good! We enjoyed a cocktail pre-dinner and a walk around the deck after. Because of the federal government shut down, we were unable to ride the arch, but had a beautiful view of it from the deck.
The park features a butterfly house, historic village and a fairy garden. It's definitely worth a visit if you're near Chesterfield.
Visited butterfly house and saw kids playing at this park. Took our kids there and they really enjoyed the park. Park is very clean with ample play area. There is a huge sheltered picnic area and lots of open picnic tables nearby. There is a men and women restroom which was so clean. Appreciate the State Park authorities who maintain the park.
One of the nicest parks in St Louis County. Great playground, great hiking trail, and great area of St Louis. It's also attached to the Butterfly House, which makes it even better. Highly recommend!

Beautiful park with lots of shade, a pleasant walking trail, a small lake, play grounds and a few picnic areas. The restrooms were clean during my visit, and the kids playground was being upgraded with construction. The amphitheatre is nearby, and plenty of sculptures to see throughout the park. The veterans memorial is well kept, and each parking lot is well lit. I'm excited for my next visit.
A great spot for anyone looking to take family photos, enjoy art in the park, or just go for a stroll. There’s also an awesome playground for the little ones to play on and a nice designated fishing spot for anyone who wants it!
Great time at this park today. We never knew about this place until we began a new little fun app last night called let's roam. We don't know how we did on the scavenger hunt... but we scored big finding this hidden treasure!
You can take the paved trail or walk on the rocks beside a babbling creek. Well maintained and plenty of benches to sit on and take in the sites. Definitely will be back.
This was fun for all of us. The trails and the playground were the best. Love this park.
Since the playground n park reconstruction its a lot better than it use to be. I do wish there was more shade around the playground. I appreciate the trails down to the man made creek vs just the stairs down by the playground. Its easy to access with a stroller. The pavef path around the pond is a good lengthy stroll with some shaded spots. Good place to take dogs for a walk or the kiddos.
This is a nice place to go or it seemed to be. We arrived late and went to our group so I did not get chance to really look around. There was what looked like a good play area for children. That's a huge plus. Nice bowery with tables and bbq'ers. Lights.. it was nice
It is definitely updated. My kids really enjoyed this park. There is this obstacle course with a sort of megaphone attachment attached to the obstacle course so you can like announce what the kiddos are doing sorta TV show style. There are also charging ports under umbrella tables with usb-a ports and regular wall plug ports. The ports are also weather protected.

Much larger than expected. Loved the passion in his expression
Outstanding sculpture! I love the concept, and it is on a large grassy area. There are several park benches nearby, and plenty of spots for shade. Worth a visit and a beautiful park to walk around.
Fun place to come with the family. You can climb all over the sculpture and have lots of fun taking family pictures. Nice grassy area to play on around the sculpture too. We will definitely be coming back and hanging out with the giant man again. Fun times 😁
Really cool statue!! So creative!
If you are in the area, make sure to take 10 minutes to visit this amazing sculpture. What a creative idea.
It's a pretty cool sculpture. I felt it was kings I the middle of nowhere...but they had benches there where you can sit and enjoy the art. If you are an appreciator of art it worth the trip to see this sculpture and relax
Cool sculpture! I really wish the trees didn't block the view of it from the parking garage. Better address may be 16150 Main Cir dr. The "mulch" around it all is playground surface (rubber and spongy). The metal gets HOT, so you might not want your kids/pets to play on this till you check the temp.
This is such a cool, random place! It's a little jarring to drive up on this park and see this massive "statue" coming out of the ground. If you are in the area, it's worth the trip. There is also a fantastic veteran's memorial just across the road.
