The District in Chesterfield has a fun, easygoing vibe that really surprised me. It opened in 2021, but the space itself has a bit of a backstory. It used to be the Taubman Prestige Outlets, which never quite found its footing and eventually shut down. Instead of letting the place sit empty, developers gave it a fresh start and turned it into a lively mix of restaurants, entertainment venues, and hangout spots. Now it feels more like a destination than a shopping center, with places to eat, drink, play, and catch live music.
I was there for a team night with my colleagues, and it turned out to be a great pick. Everyone found something they liked, whether it was food, drinks, or games. Parking was a breeze too, which made things easier since we all came in separate rental cars.
I grabbed a beer from 4Hands and a burger from Hi-Pointe, both solid choices. We caught part of the game on a big screen, wandered around a bit, and just enjoyed the evening. It felt relaxed and welcoming, like a place you could come back to with friends or family and have a completely different experience each time.
