The “Lighthouse Tour” was fantastic and a good value. The boat was large and safe. The route takes you around the southern half of Narragansett Bay and all of Newport harbor. The historical narration was also top notch. Do it!
We took the Fast Ferry from Martha’s Vineyard to Rhode Island and it was an awesome experience! Everyone was super sweet on board! Shout out to Scott Small for giving us exceptional care and also hotel and restaurant recs! He even took a picture of my and my BFF!!! Highly recommend!
I really enjoyed the RI Lighthouse & Newport Harbor Tour. The tour was aboard their fast ferry, it had open seating on 3 levels with interior and exterior seating so regardless of the weather you can enjoy your time. It was warm and sunny, so I was happy to be able to choose when I was in the shade. There is a snack and drinks bar serving beer, wine, and cocktails. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and had great RI history to share. Next time I have friends/family visit, I’ll be taking them on this tour. Parking was convenient (and free for tour attendees) although it was gravel. Overall, great way to see and learn so much in only 90 minutes.
I'm so glad I booked the lighthouse tour for my family and I! The boat was so nice; there was an AC section as well as 2 open air sections. I got some amazing photos of the lighthouses and learned more about them from the guide. Also, the staff was very friendly. Thank you for a wonderful time!
Really an excellent tour on a quality vessel. The narration was well done and informative. Felt like a good value and though full there was lots of additional room to move about for photo opportunities etc. The boat has a good mix of covered and exposed seating to handle a mix of weather.
First time traveling on the Martha's Vineyard Fast Ferry!! What a great way to travel to & from the Vineyard without bringing our car. No crowds, easy parking & wonderful staff.
Excellent customer service, clean seats, as well as bathrooms. Not only were they organized with the que but the staff went above and beyond! Stored our suitcase as we boarded, greeted everyone with a smile, and a welcoming chat. Shout out Keith, who came around our 2nd floor deck to ask us if we needed anything but actually stopped (to each group of travelers) and offered to take a photo as a memento of our crossing.
First time on catermaran...i loved it. The staff was really great and I didn't drink or anything. But I just enjoyed the full experience.

A small and cute town in Rhode Island. Located on Wickford cove next to a water body and has a lot restaurants with outdoor seating. This place a lot of beautiful home and it's fun to walk around the place. Also, there are a lot of gifts and antique shops which is also fun. For enjoying this town to the fullest just park your car (there a lot of free roadside parking available) and start walking around the town. Eat, shop & Enjoy!
Cute village close to the harbour and the coast. The Main Street is nice and has some cute shops but we found the staff in the shops to be quite unwelcoming - it made us have a bit of a feel of being ‘outsiders’. When walking round the streets people could say hello so the general public seemed friendly. Good walks in the local area and saw lots of wildlife like egrets, cardinals, squirrels and chipmunks! I would say for sure this is a very seasonal place, we visited in the days leading up to Memorial Day and it was very quiet, lots of the shops weren’t open long or opened late in the day.
My partner likes walking here. As for my honest opinion, the specialty shops used to be way more interesting 10-15 years ago. Now they reflect a moderately globalized & sterile vibe enclosed in colonial buildings. Not a soulless place though, as it retains some of its old charm.
Wickford village is a real gem of Rhode island. It's charming and has a real community feel. Almost everyone I've engaged with is friendly and helpful, and there is a real willingness to share their sense of community and knowledge of the area. If you're looking for a romantic getaway with charm and a sense of adventure, I highly recommend it. There's so many great places to visit and eat dive in and enjoy.
A small quaint and unforgettable little town that is magical during times like Christmas and also during the Wickford Art Festival in the summer. Located on Wickford Cove right near the water where you can enjoy a meal and a drink outside overlooking the cove. Hard to beat the atmosphere here. Come and enjoy! Great little shops and antique stores too.
Beautiful views of the water. We went to see the lighthouse and the beach next to it. The place is really nice to walk around, do some shopping. Would definitely recommend for tourists.
Absolutely beautiful! All the little shops was amazing with all artisans work. The harbor had benches to sit at to enjoy the view and the breeze. Highly recommend visiting!
Beautiful town. We’re supposed to go to Newport and this town came on the route. And we ended up spending entire afternoon here. Weather was pleasant, the town had right ambience. Saw couple of good restaurants on the shore. Planning on visiting this place on evening.

A fabulous little Rhode Island treasure. There was plenty of parking across the street from the property. The welcome center was small and had a nice array of items in the gift shop. The property is well maintained and beautiful. You can learn about the property by a self-guided tour that has QR codes available around the property that connects you to audio relating to that area. When available, guided tours with a docent are very helpful and interesting. Bill was our docent and he was very engaging and polite. My family with six kids really enjoyed interacted with him. He was very knowledgeable and yet quick to ask if we had any question. The gardens and trails are beautiful. This place is an absolute treasure and I highly recommend it. One of Gilbert Stuart’s original paintings of George Washington is hanging in the Rhode Island state house in providence. You can see it for free in the governor’s ballroom.
Pricy for whats there but interesting Because I never heard of him Grounds are beautiful and mills in wonderful shape Nice woodland trail by an old family cemetery. His paintings are so beautiful almost look like photos
If you are looking for an afternoon event, come to the Gilbert Museum. A collection of American Art. The visiting shows are constantly changing. The site also features a working grist mill. There are also trails which lead to a small pond will be of interest to anyone looking for a place to take an afternoon hike.
Cool place to visit would recommend for any history buff
The Gilbert Stuart Museum is a hidden gem! The museum is beautifully preserved, offering a fascinating glimpse into history and culture through its impressive collection of paintings. The staff is incredibly welcoming, and the gardens are simply gorgeous—a perfect place for a peaceful stroll!
Wonderful, historic birthplace of Gilbert Stuart, a prolific portrait artist who painted 6 sitting Presidents and much more. Dave, our guide, gives a very informative tour, nearly an hour long....fantastic for a $10 admission fee! The grounds are green and peaceful and you can wander some trails on your own if you wish. My elderly parents also enjoyed it!
An enchanting location in New England. An historical site. The drive to get to this place is very enjoyable especially if you love long New England drives. This is a seasonal place it is open during the summer months.
Been twice, both times the tour was excellent. This is a go to destination when we have visitors from outside new England

Really fun! The golden lobster is beautiful! Staff were very friendly and educated. I greatly enjoyed meeting the tiny shrimp and the skates
A great little aquarium for kids! Lots of touch tanks to keep them engaged, and the staff were super knowledgeable and friendly. During the feeding sessions they didn’t just explain the animals. They shared fun stories and really made you feel connected, like describing how clever the octopus is or how she has her own personality. The highlight was definitely the big tortoise roaming freely around the venue, such a fun surprise! We stayed for about two hours and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
This place has educated my kiddos since 2013 when they were much younger and even now that they are older they still love going to visit “Darwin” the tortoise and all the other animals and sea creatures. Tip: if you have little kids you are bringing make sure to bring an extra set of clothes! I remember my first time my little ones were so excited touching the “touch tank” animals and got themselves wet.
We went here for a child's party and I was impressed. So much wildlife in one place. The host was informative and helpful to all of the children. Biomes will definitely have your kids, or even you, saying they want to come back again. It's a must see for all children.
We visited about 2 weeks ago with our 3 kids. We arrived at 1:30pm & we had so much fun we didn't end up leaving until close to closing time. We got to feed the horseshoe crabs, eels, watch the octopus & seahorse get fed. Darwin made an appearance & my youngest absolutely loved him. We all had so much fun that we purchased a year membership. Every animal is visibly well taken care of & loved by the members of staff. The way the female employee spoke about the octopus showed how much she cared about their well being. I highly recommend bringing your family here. If I could rate more stars I would. 10/10 stars.
Fantastic local aquarium with live exhibits including Darwin the large Galapagos Land Tortoise. Great place for family and young kids. Super for field trips. Love seeing all the local wildlife. Most of the exhibits come from the bay and Rhode Island. Staff is super friendly and the owner is very involved. Lots of parking too. If you are lucky you’ll get to see Darwin roaming the center on one of his strolls. Great stop on one of bike tours. This stop is great on the bike tour from Warwick to Narragansett. Staff and the owner are so friendly and walk around answering questions and providing education. Feedings times throughout the day are posted so you can watch them feed. Open daily. Enjoy and thank you Biomes!
I took my girlfriend here on a date, because we are both both fish nerds and we were beyond amazed by this place. The workers were all super friendly. We had an interaction with who I assume was the owner and told us all about the big eyed fish. This place is super kid and adult friendly. Very reasonably priced tickets and very reasonably priced items at the gift shop. We will definitely be coming back!
We've got memberships to Mystic, but if you're looking for a safe, interactive place to keep your kid entertained for hours, this is it. We have an almost 2 year old who LOVED this place. I was worried to leave. Where do I start. They have a tortoise that roams. He's huge and adorable and super friendly. The toddler could not get enough of him. Incredible. So many fish and touch tanks. So, so many. Little exhibits and quirks like an African cichlids tunnel for little ones and some more interactive exhibits kept up with his attention span. There's tables and games on the side to pass more time by as well. In the corner, there's a toddler/small child space with ferrets, more tanks, toy boats, books, and a ball/pipe section. He could've spent all day there. Whoever designed the layout was a genius. I've never seen him more engaged for that long. Wonderful, wonderful spot. Way easier as a parent than the full size aquarium and equally entertaining for the little one. A nice little gift shop, too!

Very nice and informative place about what a seabee is and do. Being former military I appreciate these kind of places.
This museum is quaint and the volunteers there are so proud of their seabee history and have so much to share. The collection of the entire history is quite large and displayed thoughtfully. We brought my son‘s father to the museum as a birthday surprise, he was a seabee for nine years and had no idea that the seabee started in Davisville Rhode Island. This museum was built by retired seabees, is completely voluntary, and a clear project of blood sweat and love! If you have a seabee in your family, this is a great place to go to see their history and get an understanding of that relative’s time in the military.
What a little treasure this place is! Was in town accompanying a friend to a Seabee Reunion and had a chance to take a side trip to this gem. So much packed into one building to learn about the history of the Seabees. I'm retired Army, and worked and trained in quonset huts-- had no idea the Seabees role in design/erecting those. The visit was enjoyable and I got quite an education. The museum is laid out nicely and covers several eras. You can see all you care to in a 1-2 hour visit and there's a small gift shop inside as well. The staff member present on the day we visited was so friendly and knowledgeable. If you're in the area, it's worth a stop.
If you're interested in any sort of militaria, Navy Seabees or local history I recommend going here. It's run on public donations only, they receive no federal or state funding. It's free to enter.
Outstanding place to visit and learn about an obscure military force that did the business of building installations. Great exhibits and equipment.
The museum and surrounding grounds are free to tour. It is an interesting and fun place. The volunteers are friendly, but didn't seem to offer much direction.
Awesome people running it and some really cool items in there. Definitely worth the trip to see it and they are constantly making it better.
My first time there. It was amazing , very educational. The Chapel in the Pines was very special. It is being renovated.
