STEP BACK INTO THE 80'S❤️❤️❤️ I finally made it! Bucket list ✅. Super cute!! Free to enter. Lots of toys. It's about a 1-2 hours walk of toys, toys and toys and different themed rooms. My girls thought it was a bit creepy seeing the heads in the cabbage but I grew up with cabbage patch kids so this was amazing! With that said it only took us 30 minutes to walk it. If you don't mind your kids wanting you to purchase all the toys there, this is a great place to visit. Nurses are all super friendly. Beautiful for picture opportunities. I love it and would return (perhaps without my girls next time lol).
So much fun and free admission! The toys are beautifully decorated and displayed, and the prices are very affordable. Not just Cabbage Patch Kids, but they also have many other plushes. The staff I encountered were super kind and sweet. I would definitely recommend a visit.
BabyLand General Hospital is truly one of my favorite places. The Cabbage Patch dolls are absolutely beautiful — it feels like stepping into a magical world. Visiting this place and adopting one for my daughters was one of the most heartwarming experiences I’ve ever had with them. Seeing their smiling faces as they looked through the dolls, picked out their outfits, and chose accessories was pure magic. I even ended up buying dolls not only for my daughters but also for myself! I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves dolls or wants to share a special moment with their family. It’s a beautiful, unforgettable experience. The only thing that would make it even better would be if the person issuing the adoption certificates were a little more friendly. My daughters felt a little uncomfortable because she was so serious. Since this is such a magical experience for the girls, a warm smile would make it absolutely perfect. 🎀❤️😀
Took my 2y/o for her birthday and so glad that I did! BabyLand is massive! A little kids dream. If they don't want a cabbage patch doll there are tons of other stuffed animals and other options. We walked out with a baby owl and a Bingo bouncey ball. Definitely recommended visiting if your kid loves any of the above. It's such a cute and unique place.
A Magical Trip Back for Any 80s Girl. Visiting Babyland General Hospital was like stepping into a childhood dream! As an 80s girl, seeing the Cabbage Patch Kids being “born” and all the nostalgic displays truly warmed my heart. It’s such a unique and whimsical experience. Best of all — it’s completely free to visit! There’s a lot to look at: nurseries, vintage dolls, fun little displays, and even the live cabbage patch “birth.” While the building and decor are definitely showing a little wear, everything is still lovingly cared for and full of charm. Whether you’re bringing your kids, reliving memories, or just want a little joy in your day, it’s absolutely worth a stop. We had such a sweet time — a true hidden gem.
My mother visited the original Babyland General nearly 30 years ago when it was located closer to downtown Cleveland. She bought a commemorative 1996 Atlanta Olympics Cabbage patch kid which we still have today. When looking online for any news on Babyland, I saw that they had moved location back in 2010 to a much larger facility. I told my mom about this and in a flash, we were driving up north one weekend to see the new location. We were surprised with the new location being much larger than the smaller clinic building from years ago. Numerous Cabbage Patch kid busts greet you as you pull into the parking lot. Inside, the store is made to look like a hospital nursery with the staff dressed as nurses. The store was fun and entertaining with exhibits on the history of BabyLand and new dolls to “adopt.” Besides the titular dolls, there are other toys like stuffed animals, cars and several others for the kids to buy. Overall, a great place to bring family and kids when visiting Northeast Georgia.
Childhood dream come true. Beautifully located in the North Georgia Mountains. Everyone was so welcoming and attentive. Self guided tour allows you to take as much time as you like visiting BabyLand. Adopt your favorite Cabbage baby and take the Oath of Adoption and create beautiful memories of a lifetime.
I just got back from an unforgettable weekend trip to Babyland General Hospital in Cleveland, and my inner 80s kid is absolutely screaming with joy! 🤩 Stepping through those doors, I was instantly transported back to my childhood in the Bronx, holding my beloved Cabbage Patch doll, Betsy. It was pure magic! My friends and I—grown women, mind you—spent the day playing, exploring, and getting lost in the unapologetic wonder of it all. The familiar, nostalgic scent of that Cabbage Patch "baby powder" filled the air, instantly bringing back a rush of memories. We even witnessed a "live birth" from Mother Cabbage herself—a moment of pure, whimsical delight that I'll never forget! ✨ Seeing the magic firsthand, I can only imagine the joy of bringing a child here to create their own lifelong memories. This isn't just a store; it's a nostalgic trip back in time, and an experience of pure, unadulterated fun. I will most definitely be back! #ashsaidit #80sKid #CabbagePatchKids #80sNostalgia #RetroToys #VintageToys #BabylandGeneral #ClevelandGA #TravelGeorgia #WeekendGetaway #FamilyFun

My first visit to the North Georgia Wildlife Park and Safari was a magical experience! I had purchased a sloth experience as a birthday gift to my best friend. It was a 2 1/2 hour drive plus the cost of the encounter, gas, etc. and let me tell you - it was worth every penny and hour on the road! Coffee was our guide for the encounter, and we could not have been in better hands. He was warm, welcoming and the passion he feels for his job just radiated from him. He was very knowledgeable about not just the sloths but other animals at the facility. He went above and beyond to ensure that both we and the animals were comfortable and had a good experience! The pure joy that my friend experienced being able to meet and greet her favorite animal was unmatched! After the encounter, Coffee and Grace (another staff member we met when we arrived for our encounter and then saw her again after) were kind enough to take time out of their day to educate us about other animals at your facility. Speaking with them you could truly see how much they enjoy their jobs and taking care of the variety of animals at the park! We were unfortunately crunched for time at our visit and not able to see all of the safari park-however, we already have plans to come back before the end of the year with our families! The Safari Park itself is already a great experience - but the experience with the staff helped to make it even more enjoyable!
This place was awesome! We went for my son’s birthday since capybaras are his favorite animal. We did the ultimate experience and really enjoyed getting to spend the day hanging out with all the different animals. I think our favorite part was the drive thru safari as we have never done it before and we had a blast with getting to feed animals that kept greeting us through the window. They also had an axolotl in the gift shop in the tank my son’s second favorite animal! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves animals or to anyone who wants to have a fun family day out.
Upon arrival this zoo looked pretty basic but we were in for a surprise! Our adult son is blind so a zoo isn't normally much fun for him. However, Coffey changed all that! We signed up for the Interactive Behind the Scenes Tour (last tour of the day) and Coffey was an amazing guide with his knowledge and humor. In addition, Coffey was sensitive to our blind son's needs and gave him an extra rich tactile experience. Our son was able to touch so many animals that he had only read about. He touched Alpacas, Capybaras, an armadillo, a ferret, a water buffalo, a wildebeest, a chinchilla, a glass legless lizard and a hedgehog, and his favorite animal was the Sloth! So if you are blind or just want a delightful multisensory experience then this is the place for you. It is totally worth every penny!
I have obtained tickets for my mother's birthday. She was quite surprised! The tickets included a turn with a guide and the opportunity to feed capybaras. The location is lovely, and everyone was very kind; we had a great deal of fun. In addition, I would like to give a five-star rating to a gentleman named Coffee, if I have spelled it correctly. He was absolutely amazing, and I would like to extend my sincere thanks to him for making my mother's dream a reality. She has always wanted to see and pet a sloth.
Coffee was absolutely amazing he came with so many weird and interesting facts on all the animals. You could tell he truly loved his job and the animals he got to work with. The capybaras were so cute and interesting. It's definitely worth the price and I suggest buying the fees for the safari if you want a real personal experience.
So much fun for the whole family. The encounters are a but pricey especially if you have a large group. But the kids loved the young capibara encounter. The memories we made were well worth it. The photos show some of the hilarious encounters during the safari drive through.
$99 for a ‘private’ experience w one Capybara was too much money. You can feed and pet them ‘if’ they’re interested. Many of the exhibits had a screen or plastic to keep animals warm and you cannot see them. Pens seem a bit small for some of the animals. Grounds could be cleaner/tidier. Bathroom is very dirty, old and smells like mold/musty. Staff was very pleasant and seem to love the animals.
A great zoo to visit. They have a drive thru safari, petting, wildlife walk and experiences. We did the young capybara, fennec fox, and baby sloth experiences. That was so cool to be able to pet and feed the animals. The staff was knowledgeable and kind to deal with. Clean. Will definitely come back.

The view is incredible! Blue ridge mountains in the background. We’ve been here during the hot season and cold season, they’re both beautiful in their own way. Summer greenery and grapes are special ofcourse. You can bring your own snacks or food to munch on, get wine sampler or bottles from there or use the food truck to order few meals. The bathrooms are clean. Come with beautiful outfits for the photos and bring comfortable shoes for later to take a walk in the vineyard. Scarf/jacket for the fall/winter is needed. Outdoor ceiling fans help the heat.
Absolutely love this place. The view from their garden area was absolutely stunning. With the mountain view and the vineyards in the forefront it was just breathtaking to be able to sit drink wine and have a view such as that the lady that poured the drinks was absolutely wonderful. She was very helpful and gave great advice on what I might enjoy for my flight. The wine itself is absolutely delicious and if I wasn’t broke, I would want to buy every single one of the wines I tried.
We had such a great experience at Yonah Mountain. We did a wine tasting flight. I had the sweet wine and my husband had the mixed flight. We shared a charcuterie board and enjoyed it with live music. The atmosphere was chill and laid back. People had their doggies with them and there were families there as well. Unfortunately the tours were all booked when we went but we still had fun by ourselves.
Beautiful Vineyards and gorgeous winery and tasting room. Love their wines. Weather was a little cool and windy but they had fire pits and fire places going. They also have a good truck certain days of the week.
We can't say enough about the friendly staff that was working at Yonah Mountain Vineyards. We got there right after they opened at noontime. The grounds are stunning. Had it been later in the day we might have taken them up on tasting a flight of their wines. Very large parking lot. I doubt you will have trouble finding a parking space. There was a food truck the day that we were there offering up delicious meals.
Wow! The atmosphere on a fall Sunday afternoon could not have been any better. The guitar player singer was exceptional! Lots of people sitting outside with heaters and fire tables going. I had very low expectations for the wine but was incredibly surprised to find that I love their Gemini Red. I bought a bottle and my wife bought a bottle of Chardonnay. I love them both and we will be repeat customers for sure. This place is amazing. We lived in Santa Barbara for 10 years and know Central Coast wineries and vineyards very well and what to expect. This experience exceeded all expectations. Absolutely hands down my favorite vineyard and wine label in North Georgia. We will be back often!
Yonah Mountain Vineyards is a must-visit! Stunning views of Yonah Mountain, especially at sunset. Loved both the reds and whites in the tasting — relaxed, friendly service with no pretension. Tons of cozy seating with heaters and fire tables, perfect for cooler days. Plenty of parking and the tour is worth doing if you have time. Already planning my next trip!
First off, respect to my man Wes on sound and the lights. Truly a wizard. He introduced himself the moment we arrived to set up, offered to help at every turn, and once the reception started he didn’t miss a beat with those lights. So freakin cool. The venue was amazing. The food was next level, everyone was so polite. Wes genuinely made me feel like I was MainStage at Tomorrowland

Great family outing! Nice grassy campsites, good sluice area, and infrastructure. Clean small bath house and plenty of trees. Our young children got plenty of gems and rocks to take home by buying a salted bucket, while the adults took on the gold panning activity. Would come again! I LOVE that you can go dig in the creek for an inexpensive 1/2 day or day trip.
What a fun adventure it was, worth the 6 hour drive down there for sure. The staff was friendly and very helpful to say the least, at the end of my 2nd day I managed to get to talk with the owner on the place and what it was all about. I know if I were with in 3 hrs drive there I'd be down there every weekend. Found a bit of gold and LOTS of gems in the creek.
This place is by far THE BEST gemming area around. We never leave dissapointed always finding beautiful gem treasures. The kids love panning for gems and playing in the stream that's knee deep. You should be prepared to get down and dirty as you will be panning in the stream, but you will find beautiful gems. We do half a day and its more then enough time to gather up a nice collection of gems. I would suggest bringing a chair to sit on while panning in the stream along with packing a picnic lunch, they do have picnic tables right there. At the end of your time, be sure to go back into the office and have the staff sort out your gems so you know what you have. I suggest beginners purchase a gem identification sheet ($1.00) because its hard to identify these gems in the rough. Check out my pics to see some of my findings.
I was impressed with what I was able to find in my $60 bucket. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I spoke with a man and his son who had been digging in 'the pile' for two days and they had found quite a collection! While I didn't use the restroom, my friend did and when I asked her about their cleanliness, she said they were very clean! We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon and will be back!
Gold and Gem grubbin. This place is awesome we can spend an hour you can spend all day fun for the whole family. They have campsite rentals an RV hookup rentals they're also. Bring the family and join the fun. They have a gift shop that has all you need to get started to catch the Gold Fever. I enjoyed spending time there learned a lot how to find gold. You can also pan for rubies sapphires emeralds as well as other precious stones.
My 8 year old daughter loves mining for gem stones. I visited the website for Gold’n Gem Grubbin while I was planning our family vacation. I was excited when I read that you can mine for stones right from the creek and that it was handicapped accessible. To our surprise, the creek is not handicapped accessible. You must be able to walk down steep, slippery, muddy, rock covered incline to get to creek. Also you do not mine for stones from the creek, you have to shovel dirt from a huge pile into your bucket and then carry the bucket down the steep incline to the creek and then use the strainer to sift through the dirt and look for stones. It’s a lot of work if you are not physically able to lift very much weight and if your mobility is compromised. My daughter loved playing in the creek and finding the few small stones she found. Four hours of hard work and we only found a handful of very small stones. If you are looking for something to do with the kids that will keep them busy and tire them out, this might be the place to go. We didn’t find any stones worth cutting. The staff was nice. It just seemed pricey for what little bit of stones we found.
Such a fun place. Found lots of gems. Owner is very friendly and fair. We had a great time. Will definitely be back . Went back the next day. Bought a couple of buckets and got more great stuff. I definitely recommend this mine. We had a great time time both days
Lots of fun! Sit by the lake and sift through 2.5 gallon bucket for $30. Afterwards they will identify the gems for you. Friendly staff and a pleasant environment. Pictured are the gems I found.

Great views pretty laid back and an amazing place for incredible photos and to grab a drink or participate in the wine tasting.
Wish I could have stayed longer but it started down pouring and my dog was throwing one of his level 5 tantrums so I had to cut my visit short. Excellent wine, and friendly service! I was obsessed with the southern sass and the reserve Syrah 🍷
I had a wonderful experience at the cottage. I emailed Katie about helping me reserve a private outdoor space to celebrate my anniversary and she was extremely helpful. Responded quickly and made sure everything was good to go. Not to mention how good the wine and the views were!
The wine is very decent for being in Georgia. The views are very pretty. The overall setting and the way they have designed the tasting room and outside area is wonderful. The staff needs to go a true winery for some training though. You don’t ever pour in one glass of wine from 2 different bottles because the first one ran out. You don’t ever pour one bottle of wine into another bottle to make a full bottle. You don’t pour a Syrah tasting into a glass filled with Cabernet. The wine etiquette is nonexistent. They lack legitimacy that they know anything about wine. But it’s a fun place to go drink.
Great wines and friendly staff. The views are incredible. Highly recommend stopping in for a tasting.
Choosing The Cottage Vineyard & Winery for its pet-friendly policy in open areas proved to be a delightful decision. The wine tasting experience, offering a selection of five varieties from their diverse options, allowed us as a couple to savor a total of ten different kinds by sharing glasses. While individual preferences play a role in wine appreciation, we found the experience enjoyable and would certainly return. The winery boasts unique options, particularly in their sweet section. Our furry friend was warmly welcomed on the terrace, providing us with an outstanding view of the mountains. For those in the vicinity, including this winery in your itinerary is a must for a well-rounded and pet-friendly wine-tasting experience.
This was apart of a wine tour we participated in. The spot was cute and can accomodate larger groups. The views are great - I really enjoyed their outdoor space. The wine was nice with good sizes for sampling. I'd recommend stopping if you are in the area.
We visited with a tour group. The Cottage Vineyard & Winery was our first stop and it did not disappoint! The winery and surrounding area are just breathtaking! You can pick your tastings to your preference so if you like white wine and can get all white/rose wine or all red or a mixture. Beautiful seating indoor or out and very clean restrooms!

If you are ever visiting Helen, GA Serenity Cellars is a must! These were some of the best wines. Eduardo was one of the most knowledgeable wine makers I've ever had the of pleasure of meeting. Not only do they have reasonably priced wines, but they offer wine club memberships. The atmosphere was incredible. There are shaded areas, fire pits, and coming June 2025 hillsides covered in wildflowers! This was hands down the best stop of the weekend!
Visited here during a trip to Helen, GA, and after trying several different wineries this one was definitely in our top pick! Very delicious sweet wines, and the young lady there was very kind and gave great suggestions on things to do in the area! We will definitely be making a trip back if we are ever in the area again!
Hands down the best winery. The entire experience was wonderful. Started off with a sampling with Angie and she was so friendly and knowledgeable. The wine was fantastic!! Relaxed with some live music and charcuterie.. the pimento spread was delicious. Look forward to visiting again when in the area.
The place is beautiful. That’s about the only positive thing I can say about my experience. I knew I felt bad vibes the moment I walked inside of the enternece. The boomer running the from desk did not acknowledge myself or other people who had come in for about 15 minutes. When he did, he started with the older couple and helped them. Then turned to me. I asked for the $30 tasting menu. He then said which one. I did not know and he just rolled his eyes as if I was an inconvenience. The other costumers had to hand me their menu because I had inconvenienced him. I then asked if I could have my tasting as a flight to which he replied “no. You can come to the bar when you want your next wine”. I just wanted to relax in the garden and enjoy the views but this grumpy boomer ruined this. Also he not once checked anyone’s ID before pouring alcoholic drinks. So I walked out as I will not pay money to a business that treats people with disrespect. I went down the road to Yonah mountain vineyard and had an amazing experience tgere with a far better view. (Plus they do flights)
Michaela is incredibly knowledgable on the wines offered. Very personable. We loved doing our tasting and the glasses and charcuterie are a cute as an added extra to the tasting. Very chill vineyard with fantastic staff. As an added bonus she was willing to impart local knowledge of the area for resteraunt recommendations
I have visited this winery many times and every time has been amazing. They rotate wines often and almost always have live music. I really like the wine tastings that they offer. I also just recently had my rehearsal dinner in their event space and it was INCREDIBLE. The staff was so attentive and I very much enjoyed working with Abby. The space is also adorable and perfect for a group of around 50 people.
We held our son’s rehearsal dinner at Serenity Cellars this past weekend. Everything about our experience was absolutely wonderful, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to host a special event there. In addition to the room being beautiful (our event was for 50pp), the staff was warm and accommodating. Their venue coordinator for our event is named Abby and she was fantastic! Prior to the event itself, she had a wine tasting for us so that we could select the wines served. We had a lot of options, and all of the guests seemed to very much enjoy what was being served. The night of the event, the servers was friendly and extremely helpful. Overall, it was a terrific evening and a memorable experience. Thank you Serenity Cellars for everything!
Serenity Cellars is a hidden gem in the Blue Ridge Mountains! The wine is excellent, and the vineyard offers two great spaces to enjoy it. The upper deck has open-air seating with live music and beautiful views, while the wine cellar area is a separate building on the property—perfect for private events with a dance floor and mini stage for a DJ or musician. The staff was friendly, engaging, and made the experience even better. If you’re visiting with a fun group, don’t miss the cellar space—it’s pure magic! 🍷✨
