Sturgis

Sturgis is a city in western South Dakota. The Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame nods to the city's long-running Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and houses vintage motorbikes, plus memorabilia and photographs. Fort Meade, a 19th-century military outpost, and the Old Fort Meade Museum, documenting its history, are just east of town. To the south, Black Hills National Forest has rugged mountains, canyons and trails.

This should be everyone's first stop in Sturgis. It gives an excellent view into the bike culture with a surprising emphasis on women riders and their contributions. The bikes and art are not only very cool, but iconic representation of a bike counter-culture harkening back nearly a century
We enjoyed seeing a wide variety of historic and unique custom motorcycles and exhibits. Entry fee seemed a little pricey, but overall a good way to spend an hour in downtown Sturgis.
This was a pretty neat stop. Sturgis is well known for its biking culture, this museum is the perfect stop. The land speed record breaking motorcycle is here, along with a ton of other custom, vintage and historic bikes. This place is NOT a good museum for kids. Everything is, understandably, not to be touched. Kids are allowed here but they need to behave and their parents need to keep a watchful eye!
Great place to check out history. Staff really helpful. If you like the motorcycle history then definitely stop in and check it out. Buy some swag. IF they have your size 😂😂😂. Not much in large or extra large.
Wonderful collection of motorcycles! Historic motorcycles were my favorite. Fantastic to know know this history is being preserved. I especially enjoyed the section on women in the history of motorcycles.
It was my first time at Sturgis and it was awesome. I drove from California. I would like to attend again next year, but hopefully I will be riding next time.
It's neat to see all the old bikes. They have custom, choppers, army, racers - full history of the evolution of motorcycles. I was a little disappointed in the number of old Hondas, though. I feel Honda when they started showing up in the mid 60's that they started a trend that anyone could ride. This made the expansion in the desire and confidence to move up to the bigger bikes. Such as HD, Triumphs, BMW, Gold Wings, Indians big cruisers to explore this beautiful country.
Good collection of interesting bikes and memorabilia. They had a lot of bikes in a small area with 2 floors.

f you’re looking for the heart of Sturgis—this is it. Full Throttle Saloon isn’t just a bar; it’s a full-blown experience. It’s massive, chaotic in the best way, and feels like a biker Disneyland with a serious edge. Food? Solid. You’re not coming here for fine dining, but what you get is hot, hearty, and hits the spot. Service? Considering the crowds, the bartenders crush it—fast pours, no frills, all attitude. Atmosphere? Off the charts. Between the live music, the burnouts, the wild setup, and the people watching, there’s never a dull moment. You’ll find yourself taking photos of everything—and everyone. 💵 Expect to spend around $20–$30 per person depending on how wild your night gets. 🔊 Noise level: Loud—but that’s the whole point. Come for the name, stay for the insanity. Just don’t wear anything you care about getting beer (or burnout dust) on
We arrived the week prior to the rally on Sunday. Soon after, this place was packed, as far as parking every day. It's so big (read it could hold 15000 people) there is so much to see and do here. We went multiple times, since we were staying at the Pappy Hoel Campground, to enjoy the great music, entertainment and people watching. I am not sure what it's like in the "off" season make sure to call or check the website before going.
The atmosphere is dark, just like I like it. The decorations offer some very interesting pieces of old machinery. Overall a great vibe and an interesting place. There is a lot of room here for concerts and other activities. You also get an amazing view of the mountains. The burger I had was out of this world. It was thick and juicy with two cheeses on it and was very clearly not a frozen patty. The only reason it loses a star is because there a lot of flies everywhere.
My bf and I watched the show every time it was on. The show did it no justice. That place is all that and so much more. The people are what makes it so good. I have so much respect for Mike and Angie. It's amazing!! I can't say enough about how much I loved being there. My bf passed away this past June and that's where he wanted to go. So, I packed up and went to Sturgis. I felt so lost and out of place without him.....until I got to Full Throttle. I loved it. I'm so grateful. Thank you so so much. Y'all don't know what it means to me. If your reading this, just go. You won't regret going to Full Throttle. Its money you wont regret spending. It's a place you will never forget.
Excellent for people watching. Great concerts, lots of room for dancing. There was a fantastic photo exhibit and custom bike show that were really interesting. I had a real blast.
Of course, the atmosphere is insane. The clerk at the apparel store was incredibly rude. My 76 year old father was getting ready to hit a vape pen and he loudly said "don't even think about it" Dad apologized and put it away. The clerk continued to berate him. Told that's the first and last time I'll ever ask you. Dad told him sorry again. The clerk started going on and loudly said, " How would you like it if I smoked in your store?" I finally told the clerk "enough. " He's not stupid and he apologized and he didn't even hit the pen." Yes, I agree nobody should smoke their e-cigarettes indoors. But, the clerks overreaction was ridiculous.
The full throttle was rushing to get ready for 2025 sturgis and did an awesome job. I was amazed at how great this place looked. The service we received was friendly, and the vip bar folks had great sense of humor even when busy. I recommend folks visit the throttle while at Sturgis as this is a true biker retreat.
Me and my group of over 3,600 people got here on the 1st for the bike rally. It was a great run from the Texas/Mexico border to Sturgis and this is the first place that we stopped. We are currently enjoying this facility for the fifth time of our trip. I have to say that the moonshine is very good as well as the brisket. The environment is great and the employees here are excellent.

So. Much. History here. Set aside a few hours to cover the museum. Such a great abundance of historical artifacts and information.
One day, I will make it to this museum My Great,Great Grandfather might have been here..do have a history of him. U need to update your online.. Says open, no suggestion of being closed for the season. You know hard it was to get the day off to come here.. Made the most of it..thank U
This museum is amazing! I loved all the information and artifacts. I wasn't able to explore the entire museum, I only had about 45 minutes, so I will definitely be back! Apparently this is where the idea to make the Star Spangled Banner the national anthem was born! Its definitely not a museum where kids have things to interact with, but if your kids enjoy reading and looking at displays they'll have a great time. There is not RV parking on site.
Video was worthwhile, good memorabilia of the Indian and calvary era. Visited the national cemetery as well. Visit while you can!
Love the history around the area. Great place to spend time and see some reenactments of the camps they would have. Staff and participants were very helpful and informative about the way life was during the time.
Informative about the area and its' history! Interesting displays. It is worth the meager $5 entry fee.
The museum is fine, one thing that needs to be noted though. When a program is going to be done, highlight speakers or events during the time window. There was a living history event that we arrived for, which by the clock, still had 3 hours left. But apparently the event activities all happened before 1pm, so we missed a good portion. Had we known this plan via Facebook, we could have attended earlier in the day.
Very interesting museum. You learn about the history of the post and can view artifacts, uniforms and weapons from the mid 1800s through WW2. We spent an hour and a half going through. It,s free and IMO definitely worth the stop.

Love the atmosphere here and the beautiful view. You can grab a glass, a bottle, or a flight/tasting. Very friendly staff too!
Such a beautiful place. Absolutely love what they stand for, represent and their wine selection is wonderful and personal. A lot of love and care go into their creations. I had the mimosa flights and it was delightful.
We are wine club members and made our 1st visit to the sparkling house in Sturgis SD for a tour. Jackie was so knowledgeable and even though it was raining and we were not able to walk through the vineyard it was an amazing tour. Brynn was a delight behind the bar and we had the privilege to meet Choi and experience her knowledge. Can't wait to visit again ♥️
Stopped in to Belle Joli on my way through Sturgis and it was my favorite spot. Such a cute location off the main drag with a beautiful, sun soaked patio, some tasty snacks, and better wine than other SD ones I'd tried (albeit I like sweeter). Cheyenne took care of me and was pleasant and knowledgeable. Only downside was they didn't have any sparkling due to the bottle shortage last year. Will definitely reco this to friends traveling through the Black Hills region.
This is a lovely winery. They have some excellent semi sweet wine that I love.
Love coming to the deadwood tasting room and visiting with Tanya, such a wonderful experience every time. Job well done!
Fantastic sparkling and port wines. Great service and the food menu is a nice bonus to add to the experience. My family including small kids and in-laws loved our late morning experience.
My group and I came for the $10 flights. The server and service was great! I got the estate flight, and that was right up my alley as I like sweet flavors! Would definitely recommend to anyone. Ended up landing on a bottle of Dakota Breeze. Note: They do have non-alcoholic “drinks” as well!

BEAUTIFUL final resting place and very well taken care as well for those who served this Country. I know because I have 5 FAMILY members and several friends that are at rest now and a few more family members that will be laid to rest there in the next couple of years. Blessing, love and honor to all those who have served this country without question. Thank You! Since the time I wrote this, we have laid my father in law to rest as well. Four family members are now at rest in this beautiful place for our vets and spouses. Sadly! My mother has passed and she will be laid to rest with my father, SFC Harvey Varns. The National Cemetery makes the final preparations so comforting and easy. What a Blessing all those who work to help with the final preparations at the National Cemetery truly are!
Beautiful grounds. A nice place to play Pokémon Go too.
Visited this beautiful cemetery for the first time in 2025 to see the gravestones of 5 friends. I had difficulty locating a few of the graves and a gentleman named Max went above and beyond being helpful and kind and took us straight to the graves we wanted to see. Max was exceptional and is a great representative of this amazingly well kept place.
Gorgeous, super well-maintained veteran cemetery. Upon entry, on right-side, is the administrator office... a graveside listing is on the wall in a visitor box. Alphabetical listed make it impossible "not" to find your person. Headstones are numbered on backside that correlates with personal listing. Emotional visit... so many veterans, so much sacrificed. GOD bless America
Honestly, we took a wrong exit on the freeway and just happened to stumble upon this and boy were we all glad we did! What an amazing place! Its so beautiful and humbling to experience. Everyone should stop by and pay your respects when in the area.
My brother, Dominick Lombardo, a WWII veteran of the Pacific arena rests in peace there, and being the last survivor of my beloved family, I am contented to know that he rest in one of the best cemeteries of this country. Everything there warms the heart, and the staff definitely should be highly commended. Respectfully, Carmine Lombardo & Family
This is a stunning landscape for honoring this nation's deceased veterans. It is the final resting place for many vets and this cemetery recognizes their service to the United States.
Internment of my uncle Sgt Jerry Jensen, USA, infantryman Vietnam. Reverent and beautiful location. Professional staff and salute guard.
