A Museum and a Music Venue! Friendly staff and a comfortable place to view the memorabilia and see a show. We attended the Buddy Holly Story concert on Sunday. We sat in one of the booths, and I like how the ticket purchase seating chart tells you which seats are partially or fully blocked from a view of the stage. The show was excellent, and we enjoyed looking around the place. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, while also preserving the original decor. Sitting there enjoying the show, it was very easy to imagine being right there on that famous night, enjoying the last concert before "The Day the Music Died."
The town of Clear Lake is a friendly and walkable town right on the lake, so it is a pleasant place to pause and stay for a day or two. We went well out of our way to see the show and the town, and it was well worth it.
One of the photos is the lyrics of La Bamba, written by Richie Valens' own hand.
