Such a special place! Highly recommend stopping by for anyone who has/had a dog(s) and/or love dogs. The small chapel is full of dog pics/ letters, and they are very touching. There is also a gift shop with so many cute stuff. It was a bit sad to find out that the store didn’t have any items with poodle designs (we have a poodle ;)) That being said, we had no trouble finding a bunch of adorable gifts for ourselves and friends! The park is very spacious and dogs are allowed to be off-leash. We will def be back.
Beautiful, expansive property for dogs to run & be free. The chapel is beyond special. The store is so quirky and has the coolest stuff! I’ve made a trip up to Dog Mountain a few times now just to bring my dog here. After finding this on tik tok, I’m glad it lived up to expectations! Truly an amazing, dog-friendly place that dog lovers will absolutely love.
Cannot give this place enough stars. Every dog should experience this place. Also, humans will love it. It's an amazing and beautiful 150 acre mountain dedicated to the love of dogs. Art gallery is fantastic. So much to see. I love the faucet in the restroom. My second time here. Drove specifically from Oregon so my dog could experience it again.
dog mountain is the purest place i’ve ever been. it’s so beautiful and peaceful. when i got out of the car and looked at the view, i was in awe. it looked like a painting with all colors of fall. i felt pretty emotional quickly and i didn’t expect that. there were feelings of joy, love, grief and gratitude. i left a note in the chapel for my family’s dogs and my friend’s families too. i’m glad they had tissues in there bc i was not prepared! i picked up lots of goodies from the gallery to take home and gift to people. i think anyone who has ever loved a dog should go here. just gorgeous. i went back a second time because it had started raining and i wanted to experience it with such beautiful weather.
Dog Mountain and the chapel built by Stephen Huneck are so lovely. Great place for dog lovers and their pups, and those there to remember or commemorate there past pups. Lots of grounds for playing and hiking. The artwork and carvings in the gallery and chapel are amazing.
The climb to the lot was exciting... The store is charming, and the chapel is simply overwhelming. There was an energy that brought us to tears... The yellow trail = good (be great when they finish the bridge... The blue tail = it was so so. (Basically a powerline and poorly marked... It was worth a visit. I just don't think I'd go back for a hike... But the chapel, id love to feel the energy of the memories over and over again...
Everything was clearly labeled and easy to access. They do have a restroom for humans when the gallery is open. Loved the chapel and the trails. Did have to be cautious of other dogs and owners as they were off leash and did not have great recall but overall a good experience and I will be going back
This is a nice place to walk your dog or just go for a walk yourself. Nice Vermont views and trails. The chapel is a nice place to leave a picture of your pet that has passed over the rainbow bridge. They have a gift shop also.

What a great place. We have been here a few times. Every time we go.. I get a "night in the museum" feeling. The buildings architecture, that radius ceiling, the spiral stairs, and the millwork alone is amazing, what craftsmanship. They have a great area in the back for butterflies and many learning areas for kids. So very educational here.
A museum experience worthy of stopping by! We visited the Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium during our visit to Vermont and were pleasantly surprised by the amount of items that were on display! Keeping in mind that this is a museum in small town Vermont this museum has a decent selection of artifacts/fossils available to view along with different shows that are out on throughout the course of the day, including a demonstration in the museum's planetarium, which according to staff is the only publicly available planetarium in Vermont! This is a good spot to bring kids to learn a little bit about the world around them! The Butterfly sanctuary out back is included with admission and is a neat stop. Not many butterflies to see on our visit, but it was great to see what we could!
We stopped here while passing by and would recommend for 2+ hours. It is both a classic museum AND a great experience for small kids, too - specifically the science addition with hands on exhibits. There was an exhibit about dinosaurs and birds that was VERY informative. There is also a butterfly house included with admission, too.
This is an excellent place to go if you’re looking for an exceptional family activity. The staff were extremely kind. My one-year-old walked all around and excitedly pointed to everything. In the image I’ve added, the staff members were waving to him after he yelled “HI!” from the balcony❤️
cool little museum with interesting artifacts in a beautiful older building. gift shop was nice and had museum themed shirts, hats and stickers.
What a great museum! So much information. So many cool things to learn about! Fun, hands-on area! This is a definite must visit for any age!
I love museums of natural science and history and this was a great stop on my exploration of St. Johnsbury. Such a beautiful town with so much history to learn! I’m so glad to have experienced it.
Stay with me, this could be long. Imagine yourself on vacation and you need to kill some time before you can check in to your hotel. You hit the googles and see this museum. You go there and it absolutely fails as a 1 hour time killer, This place is amazing. I was enthralled by the variety of this collection. I have never seen a museum with this span of materials. On top of that, they have a planetarium. I figured it would be "This is a constellation, blah, blah, blah". This place couldn't even do that right. They threw us into a room with an absolutely amazing woman as our emcee. She told us about the legends of the constellations, most dealing with how much of a dog Zeus was. It was hilarious and informative. This museum needs a youtube channel to share all of the things that the collection has. So in conclusion, this museum is not a time killer, it is a destination. I wish I knew of it before I planned my trip, I could have spent a whole day in there.

We rented e-bikes for the LVRT and even though a small portion of the trail, closest to the store, had been washed out by this year’s flooding, the staff clearly explained where we could access the trail and helped us to load and secure two bikes into our small SUV (we had a small hitch and bungee cords for one of the bikes). The day was beautiful and more affordable and effective than therapy. The bikes were comfortable and easy to operate. Everyone should discover their inner child on an ebike!
All-around and their team are incredible. We rented a 6" wood chipper for a full day. It worked great and was very capable, but around 2PM, a small switch part failed. When we called them to let them know, they offered to deliver another chipper to us within 20 minutes. As it was already the afternoon at this point, we asked if we could just bring it back to them. They apologized for the part failure even though it was in no way their fault, just normal wear. They also offered to give us a FULL free day whenever we wanted with the same chipper which we were not expecting. They were very professional, very generous, and we will be doing business with them again. Great company.
It's become tradition for us to get an inflatable for my sons birthday. We love AAR, great service, super flexible for pickup and drop off and a great selection! We haven't ever had the same one twice in 8 years!
I highly recommend using this fantastic company, Thay are extremely helpful, very kind with reasonable prices. I have been using them for several years now. I plan to continue to use them for years to come.
My family and I (all first timers) had an amazing time! Nervous at first due to icy conditions but our amazing guide Jack really motivated us. Before you know it we felt like pros and were racing through the mountains. The trails were beautiful and the experience is beyond worth it! Would definetly consider coming back next season or even coming up for an ATV experience in the summer which they also offer. Great people and business. This was the highlight of our weekend here thus far :)
I recently rented chairs from All Around Rental. Everyone I dealt with was extremely helpful and friendly. The pickup and drop off were quick and easy. Their prices for rental equipment are very reasonable. I highly recommend All Around Rental Equipment.
Beautiful day , nice experience, good company, friendly guide and stuff. Thanks from all our group! See you in a early future.
Had an amazing day with Dallas last weekend. The tour was the perfect speed, beautiful and just the right length. We have never gone snowmobiling before and he explained everything making it so easy. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful when it came to suggestions after there tour on where to eat in the area and places we had to check out. Overall amazing experience worth every penny. Can't wait to come back in the fall for ATVs!

I loved visiting the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum. Not only is the building itself beautiful and a joy to spend time in, but the staff are lovely, too. Adele in the 2nd floor space was so kind, and she cheerfully helped me book a private room to use for some work calls on more than one occasion. The tables all had power outlets nearby, and the chairs were comfortable to sit in while I worked on my laptop. The WiFi was sometimes incredibly fast, but always fast enough for my needs. Bathrooms were clean and easy to access in the basement. If I lived in the area, I think I would come here on a very regular basis. I am grateful for public spaces like this that are so, so nice. Thank you, St. Johnsbury Athenaeum and your incredible staff!
Nice surprise during my visit to the area. The art museum is small, but worth a look. I loved the on-loan mini mosaic pieces. The docent was friendly, and for anyone who loves a library or art, I would recommend visiting.
Very cool old library, 1871. My great-grandparents stood in this place when it was new. I could feel their awe! Fantastic historical reference books! Plus a funny collection of modern books.
St. Johnsbury in its entirety is a delight. Worth the detour. The Atheneum is one of those dream libraries with architecture to marvel over. It also has a small art museum with paintings, bronzes, and sculptures mainly from the 1870s. Staff was great about pointing out elevators - wish that staff had looked up from their computers and said hello as we went from room to room as we had lots of questions that went unanswered (I realize library staff doesn't have enough time to be tour guides all the time, smiles). Regardless, the Library is both a moment in history and a vibrant community hub and a must see architectural feature of the town. Flyers for Library programs looked inviting and current. Combine with a visit to the Fairbanks Museum - there's a nice deli across the street for lunch.
We didn't know what to do on a rainy day, so we popped on here. What a pleasant surprise to find a library, tiny gallery, lots of history.
This building is gorgeous. It houses the town's library and a small gallery in the back. They like donations for the gallery which is well worth it. $5 a person or $10 for the family. The works are absolutely gorgeous and the Yosemite view is fantastic! The building inside is stunning with wooden spiral staircases. It's a great place to stop in and visit or to actually use as a library if you like. Staff here are friendly and nice a the bathrooms are clean. Definitely worth a stop in if you are in town.
Lovely building, connected to the library. It wasn’t very crowded- great place to swing by if you’re in the city!
I love this library. Absolutely beautiful and the staff are super nice and seem happy to be there.

This place should be rated higher. $3 maple creemee is really good. The maple syrup is great and they have samples. A lot of places don't do samples anymore.
We were in New Hampshire and we were close to Vermont so we decided just to check out the outskirts of Vermont which was Saint Johnsbury. A cute small town on the border of New Hampshire which had a side of the road Maple Museum. Had a small museum that had a few old maple machinery and a video showing how they made the maple syrup. Nothing super exciting but was educational. I loved the gift shop, all you could smell through the shop was maple syrup. They had everything you could think of for gifts. Mostly centered around maple syrup. They had maple syrup taste testers, itty bitty cups you could take a shot of each maple syrups. It was a pretty busy place, or at least when we were there, kinda crowded. They have a public bathroom, the staff wasn't super friendly but they weren't rude either. The walkway into the building had vines that covered the walkway, almost like an archway. That was pretty cool. There's no fee to go into the museum. Parking was a little inconvenient. Prices weren't bad, pretty reasonable and a lot of variety. They have maple candy that you should definitely buy. Delicious! Overall, 4 stars. Thank you for the great experience!
Saw the small museum and bought some maple syrup. Nice
Sadly I had to give one star. I purchased a small bottle of Maple Grove Farms organic syrup at my local Walmart. I opened it today to use with a recipe and it proved to be nothing more than sugar water. The syrup was thin like water and had not even a hint of maple flavor. The worst part is I tried to return it only to be told that I can only exchange it for another one of their bottles. So BUYER BEWARE! This is Maple Grove Farms policy not Walmart and believe me I would love to blame Walmart but I can't on this one. My advice is stick to what you know tastes good to you.
I bought some souvenirs, and the lady at the cash register was very sweet.
Always liked this place for decades. Very friendly folks. A must stop whether you are local or visiting.
Maple Groves Maple Creemee ice cream is the best ice cream I've ever had. How do I get this in California? 😋
We checked the website for their hours before driving from where we were staying in New Hampshire. Despite the info on the website, they were closed. I'm doing 2 stars based on what we could see outside, but very disappointed that it was not open.
