Highly recommend this park! We really enjoyed the walk along the river to the waterfall — peaceful and scenic. The rock formations are beautiful, especially in winter. Don’t miss the Visitor Center: it has an interesting exhibit and very friendly staff. A great place to relax, explore nature, and learn something new
The park offers a lot to do, is mostly dog friendly, and the campground is ok. The hikes to the waterfalls were lovely even in the rain. The Boulder Field was fun and unique but be prepared for a long drive on a dirt road with lots of potholes to get there. The swimming lake was nice and lots of area to swim. I especially liked that it was smoke-free. There’s three divided large swimming sections. A cute lil goose family was swimming along with us humans. No dogs on the beach, but there’s grass and trees nearby where I stayed with my dog. Of course there’s people that don’t listen and bring their dog on the beach and hike with their dog off leash, which is disappointing. The food is over priced by the pool and only one person works there and she’s slow and unable to multi-task. I think I waited 15 minutes for my ice cream with only one person in front of me who also just ordered one ice cream. The soft serve was very delicious and worth it! If you want to tent camp, sites 302, 304, 306, 308, 310, 312, and 314 are the nicest and most secluded. Sites 298, 299, and 301 are right by the busy road. A lot of the other sites are hit or miss: small, too close together, no shade, muddy, etc. The campground appears a bit neglected with tall grass, damaged trees, falling apart picnic tables, and lots of closed sites. The water didn’t work by my site and there’s no running water in the bathroom, just a port a potty type toilet. If u need to shower you must drive to the other campground. The camp store is small but very well-stocked with anything you might need. But beware, they sold me firewood that was wet and fresh and did not burn well. People have zero respect for quiet hours, but I complained to the park ranger and the next night and morning it was so quiet, the rangers do a great job! Alcohol is not permitted in the park or campground, but again, people didn’t listen to that either. The new visitor center is very nice. They did close at least an hour early on Saturday night. They warned everyone about bears in the area and were great with advice but I didn’t see any.
A large state park with beautiful nature surrounding it and spacious areas recreation. They have picking areas, a seasonal swimming area, a fishing lake, and of course the boulder field plus so much more. Could spend multiple days exploring the great out doors here.
Had a wonderful time visiting Hickory Run State Park—just about a two-hour drive with beautiful, scenic views along the way. Upon arrival, the staff at the visitor center were kind and helpful, guiding us toward Hawk Falls and the Boulder Field. The center itself was clean, well-maintained, and even had EV chargers available. Hiking to Hawk Falls was a moderate trek. The path down was mostly downhill with uneven terrain, so it required careful footing. The return hike was uphill and a good reminder to pace yourself, but it was worth it. The rocks near the falls were large and easy to walk across, making for some amazing photo opportunities. The Boulder Field was a short drive away, first on the highway and then along a bumpy dirt road. Once there, informational signs explained how the field was formed during the Ice Age. Climbing across the massive rocks was both fun and challenging—definitely keep your hands free for balance in case a boulder shifts. Overall, it was a fantastic first visit. I’m already looking forward to returning for more hiking and to explore the park’s camping options.
We loved Hickory Run State Park especially the visitor center. Could use some better trail maps and trail signage but we had a great time so much more than boulder field
One of the most amazing state parks I've been into. BEAWARE : There is no network once you come here so please download offline version of google maps before coming here. The information center is pretty good with clean washrooms and a bunch of maps. Staff was helpful with our questions. We did Trail A- Beach Trail which was 0.5 and was very easy with no elevation. Later we did Trail T- Shades of Death trail which was marked as most difficult. But for me who has NO hiking and NO Gymminng experience I found it to be easy. Takes about 1 hour out-and-back. The boulder field is 15mins drive from the information center. The road is not paved and it sometimes is very narrow for 2 way traffic. So be careful and drive slow. Sometimes this road is one-way only which is a lot easier. The boulder field is fascinating but take care of your belongings - especially your cellphone because it may fall down in between the rocks. Some rocks move while be step on them so it's necessary to balance properly. We enjoyed this state park a lot.
Lovely state park with tons of hiking trails and lovely scenery!! Went on the shades of Death trail. Suggest bringing appropriate foot ware with you as some trails are a little sketchy, a lot of roots from the trees, and small walkways on some parts. Just use caution when in those areas, but it's worth the hike.
Came on Memorial Day to camp, goo's choice...beat the weekend crowd. A lot of pretty sites. 2 loops are electric, one loop has some 3 ways. Restrooms are clean. But only one Restroom/Shower house for 2 loops. I think it would be a little crowded on a weekend or holidays. Nice beach area and plenty of hiking.

The owner provided us complimentary apples on the shuttle. Gave us a briefing on the map for orientation and even provided me with a much needed hair tie. I have not rode a bike since I was a kid. Took me a bit to get the momentum. It took 4 hours to go through the trail at leisure because I had to take some breaks being a newby. Most folks who are athletic or ride bikes frequently could do it in about 2. Beautiful scenery. Mostly flat or a small downgrade. Waterfall was cool. No bathrooms until waterfall close to end of trail and one at beginning drop off. Owner takes pride in business. We chose the comfort bikes. Would recommend but be sure to realize this is about 21 miles. For some reason I thought it was 15 miles.
This place was the best. Tom is an amazing down to earth fun guy and made my adventure all the more fun. Toms website explained everything i needed to know about where i was going and when my maps failed me, TOM came to the rescue and gave me great directions on how to get to the site and once there he made sure we had a great time and bikes of all sizes to fit my family thank you tom for all the help and great adventure looking forward to more family trips with your company. Thanks tom your amazing keep up the great work, Happy adventuring and holidays.
NOT only did the owner NOT show up at the location to rent us bikes and bring us up the trail, he lectured me on how I would impact the economy if I contested my credit card fee. WHAT? We got to the location 1/2 hour prior to the pick up time, there were 6-7 old bikes chained to a sign post at the park at the location. We waited until 10 minutes to pickup time, no one else showed up, so I called to confirm and the owner said that I cancelled the week prior? I called the previous day about the trip but NEVER cancelled it, he then lectured me that anything but a voucher to be honored by him in the by EOY would impact my credit score and people like me are the reason credit rates are so high....we rented from the bike shop in town without issue for the next day. Other people also mentioned that Poconos Bike Rentals also stood them up. 10 years of going to Jim Thorpe, biking rafting, tubing, etc. and the first time I had any problems with ANY of the rental groups - this one is the WORST. Stay Away.
Had a great experience on a 23-mile bike ride from White Heaven to Jim Thorpe. Shuttle service was timely and convenient. Bikes were good. I rented a tag-along for my 4 year old to ride behind me. After you're done the route, you lock your bikes on the bike rack at the shuttle pick up point which makes the whole thing very convenient. The trail is great and has some good views along the way. Plenty of picnic tables to stop and take a break.
Found out that I booked through this business and that it was the wrong decision. I honestly thought it was for the actual whitewater rafting in White Haven. Definitely double check before booking. That business offers rain dates in case something unexpected happens and you're running late. This place DOES NOT, I called to let them know I was running late due to the holiday traffic (July 3rd) but wasn't even allowed to get out my reason since I asked about the rain date option (which I thought was offered for circumstances beyond control). The man who had answered the phone cut me off and said "it's not raining", he didnt even listen to me because he thought I was trying to cancel my trip due to rain. Then said "there's no refunds, no chance to get your money back for any reason, do not book with us again, do not call, goodbye", canceled us and hung up on me abruptly. This call was also 35 minutes before our booked time as well. After the way he spoke to me, I couldn't feel safe or comfortable knowing someone acting like that is running things. I had enough anxiety with the traffic and being on time, I was hoping I would be met with some understanding, maybe compassion or I don't know just a touch of kindness. I didn't even want a refund, just to reschedule if possible. I didn't even have the chance to react until after he hung up on me. This was a trip for my boyfriends birthday and he wanted to do this more than anything but after that interaction, we will wait, save our money AGAIN and book with a different and more accommodating business. And trust that everyone I know will not book here either. Save yourself some money and trouble and don't book here just like I was told not to.
I rented a bike from this owner recently and strongly advise others to look elsewhere. The equipment was fine, but the owner's unprofessional and erratic behavior made the entire experience deeply uncomfortable. They were extremely inappropriate throughout the transaction. The atmosphere was unstable and frankly, quite disturbing. Save yourself the stress and choose a rental service that maintains a professional demeanor. Update: The owner gave his defensive comments down below but I assure you this review is 100% real. Check out all the reviews on this place and ask yourself, why is this place 3.6 stars??
Our experience was great from the phone call to reserve to locking the bikes up and checking out. Tom was and excellent driver to get us up to the starting spot and I enjoyed the conversation during the drive. I highly recommend booking the bike tour. I will be back another time for the rafting trip. Thanks, Rob
We had a wonderful experience utilizing Tom's services. I am a professor at Rutgers University and 30 students came along for a stupendous bike ride. Each one had a wonderful time and very, very memorable experience.

Amazing experience on my first horse ride! The staff was very friendly and taught my sister(10) and I(17) the basics before we went on the trail. My younger brother(5) also rode on a small pony and had a blast! The horses were very clean and did most of the work. I definitely plan on visiting again soon!
What a great experience! Beautiful Horses! Very friendly people. Trail was beautiful. We were able to see a family of deer. The family dog followed us along. It was Great. Thank you for having us.
Loved our riding experience guided by Kelly! The horses are well trained and responsive. Kelly keeps an eye on the riders to make sure everyone is comfortable and safe. This was my first time riding and I could not have enjoyed it more!
Very nice riding stables. Our guide Kelly was very nice. My bf horse "Pepper " was being a slow poke lol. Very nice ride. My horse "Tucker " was very gentle. Knew my vibe kept it slow and steady. Definitely will come back. 🐴🐎
Absolutely great! Staff are so interactive and the trail is just perfect for a easy walk and a few fun trots! Thank you Kelly and John, we will be back! I read the very few bad reviews and all I have to say is that they are not a corporate franchise so don’t expect an hour on the phone scheduling, just call, pick your time and be there ready to enjoy. They are really busy tending to the clients already there and the horses.
Wonderful family-friendly experience at a very affordable price (pay in cash and save). Went with my 10-year-old son and we were nervous as first-time riders, but the owner, his daughter, and our guide made us feel welcome and calmed our nerves. The ride through the woods was very easy and at a slow pace. We will definitely go back again!
Went there with my daughter, very nice experience, the guide was patient and the horses were well trained. We did some walking, and some jogging too. We saw deer several times, up to eight deer at same time(my phone had no power at that time, it’s a pity). Overall very good!
What a fun and peaceful hour!! I got lucky because I was the only rider that hour with the tour guide, Kelly, which made for a neat experience. She knew her stuff and was such a great guide.. very friendly and allowed us to trot quite a bit along the trails. The horses are very well taken care of, gentle and easy to work with. The owner was very protective of his horses (in a good way!!) and made sure I was safe and sturdy before venturing out. We saw a deer along the path during our ride too and being fall, the woods were so pretty so it truly was a 5 star experience! This stable is great if you are looking for a nice afternoon just for yourself, for family or even with a whole group of friends... Thanks again for a wonderful experience !! I will be back!

I had such a wonderful experience going horseback riding here with my mom and sister! My mom has been horseback riding before, but she was still a bit apprehensive & the guide was soo patient and kind to her. She took the time to explain things and reassured her. The guide stopped us along the way & took some pictures of us too. The area is also beautiful to ride through. You can see the mountains & there's a beautiful greenery. We also walked alongside the lake. I would definitely recommend it!
From the moment we arrived at Daisy Field Farm, we were welcomed like family. Our tour guides, Dale and Isaac, went above and beyond to make the ride not just enjoyable, but truly magical. Their kindness, patience, and passion for what they do made all the difference — they took the time to match us with the perfect horses, made sure we felt comfortable in the saddle, and shared fascinating stories and fun facts about the farm and surrounding area. A special mention must go to their grandfather, whose warmth and wisdom were the heart of the experience. Listening to his stories and seeing the pride he has in his family and their work was inspiring. It’s clear that this is more than just a business — it’s a labor of love passed down through generations. The scenery along the trail was breathtaking, from rolling fields to peaceful wooded paths, and the horses were gentle, well-trained, and clearly well-loved. By the end of the ride, we felt like we had not just gone horseback riding, but shared in a little piece of the family’s history. If you’re looking for an unforgettable adventure that combines beauty, connection, and genuine hospitality, Daisy Field Farm is the place to go. Thank you, Dale, Isaac, and Grandpa, for making this a memory we’ll cherish forever.
I have had scary experiences with horses before, but after reading the reviews I thought I’d give it another chance. I’m so happy I did. My husband and I had a wonderful time here. The trail was beautiful, it was a serene experience. My horse was so calm and gentle (Bonnie). I’m so happy we visited, it made my birthday weekend even better than expected. Staff also super friendly!
Lovely, rustic, family-ran establishment. The tour was led by Dale, the grandson, who told stories while setting a good pace. The granddaughter was sweet and appeared to take pictures throughout the tour, and runs a little shop off to the side. Other family members were helping us on and off the horses, and even rode alongside us to help keep order. The goats, chickens, and horses had so much personality. It was an enjoyable experience.
Lovely horses and friendly staff! Was first time on a horse and had an amazing experience! The trail views are gorgeous...
We visited on 08/31, and had a wonderful ride. It was definitely worth the money and time spent getting there. The horses and all the animals were well taken care of, and they have a functional farm as their name states. Special shout-out to our guide Dalen, and the whole staff. Thank you for a memorable experience. God willing, we'll be back 🙏🏻
My first time on horseback and I tore guide. Isaac was the man and made us feel comfortable as we weren't around his family-owned farm. Approximately 2 and 1/2 mi trail with there Belgium workhorse named Molly. Was a great experience. Hope to go back soon!
Absolutely amazing! The ride was gorgeous the horses 🐎 are gentle and calm! Plus our tour guide was so sweet he talked to us the whole time and took us through some loops within the forest since it started to rain it was absolutely magical! I would recommend this place 100000 percent

Our destination was somewhere else. But we suddenly got this opening with a stunning view and we stopped there to take pictures. It was such a wonderful surprise for us. The weather was perfect and the place was perfect too. Be careful about the upcoming traffic if you stop at the roadside to take pictures. There is a street that will take you to the lake. We didn't go there. We enjoyed the view from up.
Very beautiful, really great place for your pup to go and explore. Did not encounter a single tick surprisingly, it was rainy season in May though. Would recommend for hikes or picnics.
Was told that this was a good fishing area but when my wife and I went there we had no clue as to where to go the Rocks were pretty steep we only could go down so far and then we had to stop beautiful scenery that's about it
Need time to just get away from the hectic busy life, this is 1 of those places. Enjoyed the scenery. The colorful ski towards evening, ( missed a beautiful sunset behind the clouds but sure was worth still looking at what was there. All in all, you just need to go and see it for yourself. 🙂
I would've given this place 5 stars, but I didn't. The serenity of this place was constantly disrupted by all the bikers riding Harleys, and doing "Rolling Thunder" throughout the area. Otherwise, I had a good kayaking experience.
Every year we love it there..beautiful
Came here on a whim, and was not dissapointed. There can be a lot to do here on a summer day. I came on a mild / colder day and witnessed the dam water table about halfway drained. It was neat to explore, though I would like to explore more when it is lower. Plenty of picnic tables and parking spaces, and seems to be a spot for local fishing. Ill have to try catfishing here in the summer time, while camping somewhere nearby. Check it out, I dont think many would be disappointed.
Always very clean and well kept picnic area. Visit often for the dig to stretch his legs a little.

Cool little place to stop at. Lots of foundations and a plaque to read.
The Lehigh Tannery Historic Site offers a glimpse into the past, showcasing what once stood here. While it's mostly just ruins now, it still carries a sense of history. There's a nice deck with benches where you can sit, relax, and even enjoy a picnic. It’s a peaceful spot, especially if you’re in the area exploring. Not a lot to see in terms of structures, but it’s a good place to unwind and reflect on the history of the region.
Some people start from this lot for a shorter bike ride to the Rockport section and back. A trail here takes you to ruins of a tannery. I've included a picture of a tannery museum in Bethlehem, PA if you want to learn more history about the practice.
As others have stated, it is simply the foundation remains with a placard explaining the site. Right over the bridge is a nice rail trail. There’s plenty of parking and the trail is well maintained.
It is not bad if you are just curious and happen to be driving by, but it is definitely not something you want to go more than 5 minutes out of your way to see. Basically, there are about two paragraphs written on a message board, and a rock foundation to look at, a small foundation, and then you are done, ready to leave, after 5 minutes, including the time it took to park. Luckily, one or two hundred yards up the road, is the walking and bicycle path along the Lehigh river, that was a very enjoyable walk.
Neat little spot. Pretty view of the creek if you're able to hike down. (Not for the feeble)
While the site itself was very well kept and the information about the site was posted, there wasnt much to see. We did venture down the rocky steep path to the water where you can see a small water fall. Unless you have other things in the area you want to see it's not a prime destination to visit.
Cool place with a neat history and worth stopping if you're going through the area, but not worth driving far outta you're way to see.
