Don’t skip this tour! We drove from Chattanooga to Sweetwater for The Lost Sea Adventure and we do not have any regrets. (We did take our two children that are ages 8 and 12.) Rylan, our tour guide, was incredible. He was humorous and engaging with our group. This tour is slightly fast pace, but that is noted at the beginning of the tour as well as the steep downhill & uphill walk. They do have breaks on the way back up. We truly enjoyed learning the history of the cavern throughout the tour. Once you arrive to the lake, you are given plenty of time to view and take pictures. The lake is beautiful with very active rainbow trout swimming around your boat. Again, the way back up is steep in some areas but not challenging by any means. Don’t skip the tour! (I’m not a photographer.)
This is a 'cute' building. It feels very inviting to enter, and all of the staff are very pleasant. It's clean and has a lot of nice things to buy. The cave itself is nice and the underground lake is absolutely gorgeous and the highlight of the place. That being said, our guide walked very fast and that did put somewhat of a damper on our enjoyment of the tour. Also, we were not expecting how much walking uphill there was so if that is a problem for you, you may want to reconsider visiting this cave.
Neat adventure with good staff! Maddox was my tour guide, he could do commercials, but Logan was boat tour guide. Both of them were well versed and able to add some jokes in for fun. Good job guys! Gift shop staff were friendly and helpful as well. Pics not same as in person! Appreciate overall experience 🌻
This. Was. Incredible. A huge shout out to Lillian for guiding us and teaching us all about this amazing chunk of history!! The cave was walkable and areas to sit if you need to. The hardest part was walking back up the steeper incline from the boat ride - but it was so worth it!! So very interesting to learn about the history and the think that people discovered that and explored it before it was made walkable and safer, with nothing but an oil lamp!!
This is literally a hidden treasure. It was about a 2 hour drive for us, but really glad we went. It was very crowded so glad we had purchased our tickets online. Our guide was very knowledgeable, but a fast talker. It is definitely a hike and you are warned when purchasing tickets and the hike to the lake was a lot. I have knee problems and definitely felt it after, but so glad I made it. The boat ride in the lake was really cool. Definitely worth the ride to Saltwater, Tennessee.
Super cool place to visit. Everyone should experience this once in their lifetime. The guide told us some very interesting stories about the caves history. Be prepared for an uphill walk back out of the cave. This place is well kept and very historical. You should check out this place and check it off you bucket list!
While planning my trip using ChatGPT, this gem was suggested as one of our stopping points. I didn’t see a lot of roadside signs on the interstate or even in town (which is a destination must), so I’m so glad it was recommended. The whole experience was amazing. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and provided great insight to the history of the cave and lake. The check-in host took the time to ensure that each guest was physically capable for the walking tour as it was steep, slippery, uneven and at times, strenuous. We are two ladies between 60-90 years old so we took our time and easily managed the terrain. We thoroughly enjoyed it! We went in the off season and it was still really busy, so recommendations are highly suggested.
If youve never experienced a cave experience. This is it. If you have curly to wavy hair and you plan on straightening it that day, dont. Lol its humid in the cave. It's a mixture of cool air and humidity. But the experience alone is really neat. They also have other places to explore. They have a blown glass shop, a general store, and a little gift shop. Looks like they may be putting in a restaurant.

I love this place been going since I was a child my buddy Kyle who use to run the game store around there died and it broke my heart the flea market is sadly closing for good on March 26th 2023 so if y'all are thinking of going then this weekend is your last chance although I went earlier this week and most booths are gone
Been visiting in the last month. Daughter Savannah with grandma and me ..... Going gone out of business. Had lots of people merchandise. Jesus free books 📚 etc. Kids children adults products tshirts more.... 2023
Went to the Sweetwater flea market on Sunday. It has free admission and parking which is close to the entrance. It was very hot that day and there was no air conditioning inside. It was hot as the underside of the devils foot in there. While we were there the power went out in half the facility. The concession stand was affected and you couldn't buy anything to drink. I'd say about half the booths were empty when we went. It has the usual flea market stuff. Socks, t shirts, knives, Trump flags, CBD, and your run of the mill Chinese junk. It did however have a coin booth with silver bullion which is why I went. My step daughter loved the play area as well. It was alright to go once, but keep your expectations low. I would go again but only to get some silver at the coin booth. For me that was worth the trip.
Check it out if you like bargain hunting or weird stuff. I hope they recover after COVID-19. There were a lot of empty stalls on our visit.
Pretty cool market with a nice atmosphere, a good third of it was empty but I don't know if it's seasonal. Small arcade, food, atm and some good finds. Worth the drive here.
I was looking for some used furniture or general antique items etc. This is not that place. You can get tons of knives, cheap knock-off, confederate flags, Trump hats, and general junk though. I went to the second building (antique and home decor). Great shop, good prices, and friendly service.
Great place. Still slow because of the Covid quarantine. However people are slowly coming back and settling up their booths. Food is great. I had a slushy and a big corn dog. Yummy
I'm only giving this a five star review for the memories this place has made for me over the years now that it's shutting down for good. Honestly, the place has really been going downhill in the past five or six years, so it doesn't really come as a surprise as to why it's closing down; there's hardly any vendors and over half the booths are long empty. I used to go there two to three times a month with my grandparents, and it was always a trip that I looked forward to. There were numerous trading card vendors, collectibles, and the bookstore that used to be in the center aisle always had something to read. This was the main place that fueled all my hobbies growing up. I completed my Pokemon card collection using vendors here, I played Yugioh tournaments with friends here, and two of my beloved dogs were even purchased here. I have fond memories of passing by the "Beats um All" guy who was there every single weekend, buying whatever trading cards I was into at the time from several of the vendors, and every leather belt that I've ever owned came from the belt guys by the main office. It's been a fun 30 years of visiting, and I'm kinda sad to see it go, but given its decline over the past, I suppose that it's time to let it go. However, it will leave me with some very fond memories. Even with the decline over the past several years, it was well worth it. Even when I went for what will likely be the very last time today, I still found something to buy, as I always have every time I've went. And for that, I would like to thank the owners of the Sweetwater Flea Market for the many, many fond memories that I will cherish of this place, as well as the friendships that I've made with many of the vendors, some of which have long since gone. And to that, I say farewell to the Sweetwater Flea Market, and thank you for the many wonderful memories.

Great little hidden gem filled with good ol' regulars and newbies stopping in for a cold one. It is beer only but they're always cold. They don't have food but there's usually a table with free snacks for the taking. Carolyn, Kathy and Kelly are always happy to see ya and serve up a smile and a beer. Don't let the outside fool you, stop and see for yourself. Tell them Mustache Mike sent you!
I VISITED TODAY 2-10-2025 AND ITS A GREAT PLACE TO RELAX AND HAVE CONVERSATION THERES JUKE BOX, PEOPLE ARE FRIENDLY, SMOKING IS ALLOWED AND THE PEOPLE AR NOT , I REPEAT NOT SNOBS ... THE ADDRESS IS 1251 HAWKINS ROAD AT THE INTERSECTION OF HWY 11, IN SWEETWATER, TN. 37874, IF YOU ARE DOWN TO EARTH AND NOT PRETENTIOUS YOU WILL FIT RIGHT IN, THERE IS A POOL TABLE, JUKE BOX, 2 LARGE TV'S PLAYING, AND JUST FRIENDLY PEOPLE, CAROLYN (BUDS WIFE) WAS THE BAR TENDER TODAY AND MR BUD WAS EVEN THERE, SO IT WAS A NICE ATMOSPHERE .....
I talked about buds fondly for the last 20 years, for the next 20 I won’t….The older woman with the short blonde/ white hair gets the worst bartender of the century award! She was beyond RUDE! I was back in sweetwater for the first time in 21 years with my husband and 2 kids. I drove past buds 3 times as we drove around Sw to show them things I remembered, where I lived, memories etc. after supper we planned to go back to buds for a cold beer. There were still 10 people out back dressed in orange tailgating for the game. I walked in and said can I order 2 beers and we just stand out back w our family and have them I haven’t been here in 20 years we are just here for tonight, last time I was here Monty was the bar tender etc.etc. I was greeted with no, no, no, “ they are done out back “ so rude, & unkind. Really disappointed I didn’t get to enjoy a cold beer at buds 20 years later with my husband.
We stopped for fun! We had sooooo much fun! Moody is the best! Bud is great! Carolyn served us with a smile and we never went dry!
Great little hole in the wall bar. Only serves beer. Would be really nice if they got the air cleaner working. It is hard to handle all the cigarette smoke, but with a lack of places to choose from, we deal with it. They have a dart board and a pool table.
Best bar/dive bar I found since moving to Tennessee &Sweetwater area. The people are great&conversations are awesome. By far my favorite go to bar in the area.
Their is no food however the atmosphere was peaceful
What a great pit stop! My wife and i felt like we met strangers who became family within a couple hours. Great people hang out here! We'll be back y'all!!! Miss it already!
