Very serene! Was wonderful to go on the hiking trails, seeing the prairie, walking along the boardwalk and visiting the observation tower. We went in the morning during the week and there weren’t too many people there when we arrived. However, more people were showing up when we were leaving. There is the option of renting canoes and kayaks. As well as a boat ramp for your own boat. I would suggest bring water or a water bottle since it can get hot and at the visitor center does have a water station near the bathrooms. Would come back again

Beautiful place with great staff. The boat tour is fairly priced for all the wonderful sights and information. “Nature Nick” is a god tier tour guide that keeps you engaged and laughing. High quality keepsakes from the gift shop and CLEAN BATHROOMS. Everyone here is so friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you again Nick!

“There are places that don’t just take your breath away… they give it back. Slowly. Sacredly. Like the first inhale after a long cry.” I went to the Okefenokee needing peace… but I didn’t expect to find presence. The blackwater moved like memory. The cypress knees rose like prayers. And every echo every birdsong, every ripple felt like a whisper from God Himself. Here… I wasn’t just walking through a refuge. I was held by it. The stillness didn’t feel empty it felt full. Holy. Alive. As if the swamp was remembering everything we’ve forgotten about how to live… and how to listen. The herons, the gators, the dragonflies they weren’t just wildlife. They were part of a sermon in the wild. And somehow… I knew I belonged. Here. In this slow, breathing, broken-beautiful place. I’ll never be the same.

We live locally decided to take our 2 young children down and do the boat ride. After getting their life jackets on one of the tour guides walked up and asked if we had the 2 toddlers that we needed to not go and get our money back. It was hot and he didnt want to have to turn around and come back if they had a fit. Mind you we go out on the boat frequently and our children wear vests all day long on the water-they are used to it. Luckily we can just go to the other park where we are welcomed and they handled the children great in waycross. Think about that next time for someone who may not live locally if they have a toddler.

This was an awesome experience. We went in February during an unusually warm day (80 degrees). It was nice, not too humid or buggy. If you're not used to southern humidity and bugs, I'd plan to visit here during winter or late fall months. The visitor's center was great. The staff were helpful and shared so much information. It's such a neat experience. The boat tour is an additional cost, and it is totally worthwhile. There is a federal park fee cash or card are accepted.

Tony and I went to Folkston, GA outside of Jacksonville Florida basically across the state line. This swamp is full of Alligators and is a Refuge. The cost is $5 per person and if you take the boat ride it's only $25 each extra. The ride is 1.5 hours long. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We were the only ones on the boat, kinda like a personal trip. Very nice! We were on the 930am boat tour on a Wednesday so it wasn't very busy and very enjoyable weather. The bugs didn't bother us much, but we did have on quite a bit of bug spray!!! I tipped him $15 for the trip, we saw a turtle, 2 tiny frogs, several different species of birds, 3 Barred Owls and 4 Alligators. It was very enjoyable and I would definitely do again!! Highly Recommend you detour for the boat tour!!!

Okefenokee Adventure Park is an incredible place to explore, and at just $5 per person for a full week of access, it’s an amazing value. We could have easily spent multiple days here soaking in the beauty of the swamp. We took the 90-minute guided boat tour, and it was fantastic. The calm, relaxing ride was full of fascinating sights—alligators, turtles, birds, and all kinds of plant life. It was engaging enough to keep our 3- and 2-year-olds entertained the whole time, which is no small feat! Beyond the water, there’s plenty more to see. The short hike along the canal was great, and the Chester Boardwalk was a highlight. The 1.5-mile round-trip walk includes little stop-off points to rest and take in the scenery, all fully handicap accessible. The observation tower at the end gives a stunning view over the swamp. Swamp Island Drive was another favorite. It’s a slow, scenic drive where you can spot tons of wildlife—definitely take your time so you don’t miss anything! Overall, we loved this place and highly recommend it. Whether you’re boating, hiking, or just taking in the sights, Okefenokee is a truly special adventure.

By far the best entrance to the swamp!! A professional naturalist named Andy guided me on his tour boat and he is an expert on Sandhill Cranes and Bard Owls. I couldn't believe me eyes, Okefenokee is breathtaking. I got to see an Enormous alligator basking by the canal, it's jaws were open and it's fangs were awesome to behold! Then I had lunch at the cafe, and Carla the cook was so courteous and the food really hit the spot. Then I visited the old homestead and learned about the swamp people, and then I went to the boardwalk and 60 foot tower, and the swamp stretched endlessly as far as I could see. I'll cherish this experience for the rest of my days. Okefenokee is an incomparable gem and one of the most beautiful places on planet earth.

We took a 90 minute tour with Nick on Tuesday, September 23rd. The weather was perfect. Nick was a great guide, giving us ample information about the swamp. We saw alligators, turtles, herons, ibis and a red shouldered hawk along our route. The reflections on the water was mesmerizing. The cypress trees and cypress knees were a sight to see in the water. The change in terrain once we rounded the corner on the "prairie" was absolutely beautiful. This has always been a place I wished to visit and I am so glad we finally made it. We will definitely return.

We loved the boat tour!! It far exceeded our expectations! The swamp is incredible and must be seen to truly appreciate! Rhodes was our guide and he did a awesome job and proved extremely knowledgeable about the swamp and animals in it. We highly recommend this tour, it's worth every penny.

We really enjoyed our 90 minute swamp boat tour. It was super peaceful. The guide was really knowledgeable and friendly. We were lucky to see 4 gators. We also saw an owl, lots of turtles, and a few blue herons. We did a weekday tour. Bought our tickets online in advance. It was fascinating to learn about the swamp. The boat goes really slow and the ride was smooth even with the stop and go when we saw various animals.

Stayed this past Friday thru Sunday in cabin 1 to celebrate our birthdays & anniversary. Everything was perfect! The cabin was awesome, the staff is super friendly & welcoming. We're already planning another trip here in July! Thank you so much for an amazing time. Harvey & Dana.

Excellent experience. excellent location to get to the swamp. The swamp is simply awesome. Check in was effortless. Stayed in a Cabin; it was well-equipped as advertised. Cup coffee maker was a surprise so i did not have to make crappy instant coffee. The internet is spotty but I expected it to be spotty; Tough to span large distances in remote areas. I went to the screen room which is in the main building and close to the router when i needed good connection. Cabin had a TV; took a while to figure it out but i got to watch the MLB playoffs one night. I have no idea exactly what channels the TV can get. The bunks are 6 ft though i did not use them. The main bed is a full, i think. Will definitely stay there again when the swamp comes calling

Best campsite ever. Quiet clean friendly...first class! I said I needed a little privacy and not so much light. They put us next to their star gazer field...perfect! My better half enjoyed an ice-cold draft beer in the camp restaurant. It looked like they had several nice meal choices as well. Thank you Okefenokee Pastimes!

It is super close to Okefenokee Refuge, but over an hour to Stephen C. Foster State Park. They are dog friendly but they don’t want you to leave your dog unattended in the cabin. The cabins are super cute. (Small screened porch with chairs, no frills inside). It was very cool in the cabin even though it was super hot outside. I appreciate the ceiling fan! I’m ok with rustic and no frills although it was ~$180 for the night. My one real complaint was that online I selected a different cabin; to their credit they state you may not get the cabin you select. However, the one I selected stayed empty and had a better view. The one we were put in faced a very trashy area off property.

We stayed here over July 4th weekend. It's such a cute little campground. We had a deluxe cabin that was just perfect for my son, husband, and myself. The campground was quiet and very clean. We had limited interactions with the staff, but the interactions we did have were all pleasant. They were very friendly. The only complaint we had was that office hours were a hit or miss over the holiday weekend. Thursday was the only day we were actually able to get into the office. Because it doesn't open until 10am, it was still closed by the time we left each morning. They were always closed by the time we returned. The restaurant was only open one day we were there and even though the office should have been open that Sunday by 10a, it was still closed when we left at 10:45. That said, we enjoyed our time there and will stay in one of their cabins again the next time we are able to visit Okefenokee.

Great Campground! Charlene and Lindsey were extremely helpful and very informative on our adventure to the Okefenokee Swamp. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again. We could not have picked a better campground for our trip to Okefenokee. Management was incredibly helpful upon our arrival and our primitive campsite was ample space for two tents and two tables. The location is optimal for exploring the eastern side of the swamp Okefenokee Pastimes blew my expectations out of the water!

First the negatives: We stayed overnight at one of their cabins and unfortunately the cleanliness was a bit lacking: a random cheetoh underneath the table, leftover pee stains in the toilet rim, and no linens on the top bunk. Several of the outlets in the cabin also did not work and the ac had to work overtime due to it being sweltering inside once we got in(I get it, it was unplugged to save electricity) The positives: the front desk (Sharlene) was super friendly, very helpful and accommodating to us(even gave us a little welcome gift bag). The campgrounds were clean and well kept, clean towels were available inside the cabin, and the shower facilities were also fairly clean with hot water available. The location is fantastic if you're coming to explore the Okeefeenokee area(like we did). Would I come again? Absolutely! The only thing preventing this review from being a 5/5 is if the cabin would have been bit cleaner.
