Rugged-terrain forest with groomed trails, old-growth cedar & fir trees, a lighthouse & city views.
Slide 1 of 8
Beautiful and peaceful. It wasn’t crowded at all. You can take the #250 bus in the direction of Horseshoe Bay from Vancouver and get off at Beacon Lane for a short walk to the park and then there are a bunch of hikes through the forest and with views on the water, with the highlight being the light house (best seen from the west beach view). Highly recommend. The trails are very up and down and have stones/roots on the ground, so definitely watch your steps.
Such a pretty view. The hike isn’t too bad, though it is steep at parts so kids may want to be carried at times. Can be pretty muddy on the small portions of the trail that aren’t paved. Beautiful view from the rocks up the steps, better view of the lighthouse below the housing units though.
Lighthouse Park is a beautiful spot, and my daughter loves exploring the rocks that stretch into the ocean. The natural scenery is fantastic, but there are a couple of downsides. It would be great if visitors kept their dogs on a leash, as not everyone is comfortable around off-leash pets. Parking is a bit pricey, and it would also be a big improvement to have functional washrooms closer to the lighthouse itself.
Absolutely amazing park. Parking was easy to pay via your phone. Seemed to be plenty of parking. The boys loved bouldering around the shore. Can’t get super close to the lighthouse unless you ignore the sign like my young kids did. We didn’t get in trouble (seemed to be no one around), but just a warning for the parents out there the fence doesn’t continue on the east side of the lighthouse so it allows you to climb right onto the restricted area. Anyway, don’t think my boys are wanted in Canada and it is a wonderful park with great views.
A great place to get outdoors. Easy to get to if you're visiting the city like I was, and don't really have time to get out and explore. All of the trails were fairly short and manageable, although there were some with steep inclines and rocky, uneven bits. Beautiful views of the lighthouse and beaches, but my favorite was the old growth forests. A nice place to stretch the legs, probably even for those who aren't terribly outdoorsy.
Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver is perfect for a day trip! The park offers multiple small and easy hikes with stunning views, especially at sunset. It’s an ideal spot for a picnic. Paid parking is available, and while there are no restrooms on the trails, you can find them at the parking lot. The park is pet-friendly, which is a bonus. Just remember to bring your own water and snacks, as there are no food or shops available on-site. Highly recommend for a peaceful outdoor escape!
Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver is a beautiful park with stunning views of the water and the Lions Gate Bridge. It's a great place for hiking, with trails that range from easy to moderate. The park is also home to some of the largest Douglas Fir trees in Greater Vancouver. Here's a quick rundown of what you can expect at Lighthouse Park: * Hiking trails: There are several trails to choose from, some of which lead to the lighthouse itself. The trails are well-maintained and easy to follow. * Views: The views from the park are truly breathtaking. You can see the Lions Gate Bridge, Vancouver Island, and the Coast Mountains. * Wildlife: Keep your eyes peeled for seals and whales in the water. * Lighthouse: The lighthouse is a beautiful sight and a popular photo spot. Overall, Lighthouse Park is a great place to spend a few hours enjoying the outdoors. Just be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring some water!
Parking is free, the trail park is flat with loose gravel, They also have flush washroom to use too. We notice that while walking in the park there is some informative details regarding the history of the old cabin/house,also the trees and the bird. We go down near the water but be careful going there specially when you have small kids. Its a family friendly/dog friendly park that must be visit. You can see the building and mountain in the nice clear weather. They have lots of trail to walk with to enjoy the nature. Worth it to visit.

Stone wall to prevent erosion with a waterfront path on top for walking, jogging, cycling & skating.
Slide 1 of 8
It doesn't matter if you are a tourist or a local for many years, going to the seawall for a walk, run or ride is always a nice experience. One of the best views of downtown, surrounded by nature and with good structure (available washrooms, some benches to relax and enjoy the view, parking lots, etc). I reccomend that you do the entirety of the seawall by bike at least once so that you can enjoy the different views and places, like downtown, north van, the mountains and the beaches.
Trail Series, Part 40 Running was never meant to be easy, so many runners choose a phrase to help motivate them. Some of my favorites include: “No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everybody on the couch”; “I don’t run to add days to my life, I run to add life to my days”; “The miracle isn’t that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start”; “My sport is your sport’s punishment”; “This isn’t sweat, it’s liquid awesome”; and “Do it for the post-run snack”. It was during a recent run along the Stanley Park Seawall Path in Vancouver, Canada, that I discovered a different motivational technique. Rather than repeating a single phrase to keep you going, how about excitedly striding from one motivational expression to another? You see as this trail winds itself around magnificent Stanley Park, it is replete with benches adorned with a seemingly endless number of deeply personal plaques that broadcast both remembrances and some pretty keen life advice. I stopped more than 150 times during my run and I’d estimate that I photographed only 50% of the benches that are available to enjoy. 🤯 My favorite plaques include: “What a beautiful difference one single life made”; “To the world you were just one, to me you were the world” 🥹; “She lived for those she loved, and those she loved remember”; “How small a part of time we share”; “People and places have touched me so, left a mark on my mind, heart & soul. Thank you Lord, it’s been a great ride”; “Loving Masterchef who taught how to savor the flavors of life”; and “Just a Godly man who so loved his four wonderful daughters”. This outstanding trail is approximately 6 miles long, flat, and entirely paved. It features numerous dramatic curves that create excitement to discover what might be revealed just around each corner. Those with mobility issues will find it extremely accommodating and a separate lane for cyclists creates a safe path for all outdoor enthusiasts. It is well traveled during the day, and although the buddy system is always recommended, it isn’t necessary in this instance. And that’s…Henry’s Take. #trailseries #stanleyparkseawallpath
This is the spot highly recommended to get the best downtown Vancouver skyline views from. The spot is easily accessible by foot, on bicycle, or by driving on a vehicle. The views both at sunrise, during the day, and at sunset are really worth the visit. There are quite a few other landmarks and attractions on this side of the Stanley Park as compared to the other side. A paid parking lot is close by, while on foot this point is barely a 15 minute walk from the closest bus stop. A must visit spot whenever in downtown Vancouver.
One of the best walks you can do in Vancouver! The Seawall offers stunning views of the ocean, mountains, and city skyline all in one. Great for walking, biking, or just taking it all in at your own pace. Peaceful, scenic, and perfect for all ages. Easy 5 stars!
Stunning walk in a gorgeous area! Very popular walking/biking area & for a great reason. We some super cool birds + slugs while we were out!
The seawall is always a joy to explore—whether on foot, bike, or a casual jog. It features some of the most scenic views of downtown, framed by lush greenery and waterfront. The path is well-equipped with restrooms, benches, and parking, making it an easy and comfortable outing. I suggest biking the full loop at least once to take in the diverse views—cityscape, North Shore mountains, ocean, and beaches all in one ride.
If I lived in Vancouver, I would be here at least 3 times a week. I would be walking, running or going for a ride. Beautiful views, fresh air, so serene...I can't even describe it ❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful, clean and well maintained bike trail. Serene views and scenery. I enjoyed my day riding an e-bike alongside the ocean. Highly recommend.

We visited this place in July 2025 and found unique experiences like scenic rides that offered breathtaking views. Even in the middle of summer, we found snow on the top of the mountain! Afterward, we had an eagle coaster ride, and my daughter asked to repeat it. We visited this place on a weekday and found it quite and nice. There weren’t many people, and the parking lot was huge. The service was fast and nice everywhere. The staff was always ready to assist you and truly cared about safety.
Visiting the mountain was a fantastic experience, filled with stunning views of the surrounding areas. The fresh air and beautiful scenery created a truly refreshing atmosphere, perfect for escaping the hustle of everyday life. Engaging in various outdoor activities, such as hiking and simply taking in the sights, made for an adventurous day. The well-maintained trails and facilities further enhanced the overall enjoyment of the visit. Overall, it's a wonderful place to spend time with loved ones and create lasting memories.
Cypress Mountain ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic year-round destination! In winter, the slopes are well-maintained with a good variety for beginners and advanced skiers alike. In the summer, the hiking trails offer some of the most stunning panoramic views in the area. Amenities are great, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Whether you’re here for skiing, snowboarding, hiking, or sightseeing, Cypress never disappoints.
Cypress Mountain is a fantastic destination for all ages! Whether you’re into skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, or just enjoying the winter scenery, there’s something for everyone. The runs are well-maintained, the views are incredible, and it’s only a short drive from the city, making it super convenient. A great spot for family fun or a quick getaway!
Summer hike . Took Eagle Express gondola to top and hiked to Cabin Late. About 2 hours. Came down on the mountain coaster. About $35. Wear proper hiking gear. Some trails muddy.
This mountain has an amazing location however, there are way too many people sometimes - especially in the lineups. There is very easy access from the city. There’s a chalet where you can get warm food.
Cypress Mountain was an excellent experience. Awesome staff, good attraction. Chair lifts to different view points/peak gave you beautiful views of the mountains and Vancouver. We stayed for the sunset and that was an amazing experience. I would definitely recommend.
I don't have a car. I took an Uber to the lodge, I did a trail from that to horse shoe bay (mountain peaks, lakes) Amazing! 6 hours aprox.

Ambleside Park in West Vancouver is a popular waterfront park offering a variety of amenities. Good places for photographers. You can watch Moon in the middle of Lions Gate Bridge. It’s such a beautiful view.
The walk-through is very relaxing, the view of Stanley Park is nice, and it allows you to see some ships passing through Lions Gate Bridge, come enjoy!
Best summer time spot ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ There's so much to do in the park. A dog park is really close to the main Ambleside park. Also there is a boat shed on one side of the park. It is full of joy during summer with kids and dogs playing around. The park is really close to the Lions gate bridge where you can enjoy sunrise and sunset. 🌇 Also you can get on a floating pier to enjoy being near water. Some people also do fishing here don't know if it's allowed. Also, some people like to surf and get on a kayak to enjoy the beauty of the sunset. There's one little cafe only open during the summer. One can definitely spend a beautiful evening there with friends and family for a BBQ evening and picnic.
Very Good beach for families with kids. Sandy and the water is near. Fun Playground. Benches. Has washroom but needs outdoor shower (under renovation when this review was written). Not all stations have lifeguard on duty so be careful. Free parking (no time limit) but gets full fast! Ambleside park doesn’t have water spray park but nearby John Lawson Park has and parking there gets full fast and has 2 hr time limit.
A nice lovely place to spend time with family and friends. Suitable for Sandy Beach volleyball.. the scenery is really nice and soothing. the bad thing is that there are lots of cut down trees left in the shore for many years. I wish that the city could move those come down trees from the Shore side.
Decided on this park today . Took the 250 Horseshoe Bay bus and get off at 14th street walk straight down. Good sand Beach ⛱️ is not that huge but good enough for a few hrs to chill and relax .Seems to be popular with the locals .Was busy today as so hot 🔥 🥵 Other side of the beach has lots of seating and the beach is very rocky but more room to sit at. There are some spots that are shaded as well. The views make up for the beach.. across from Ambleside Park is Earls Restaurant on Ambelside . Was really busy around 6pm . Was a good day overall.👌
Ambleside Park: A Seasonal Symphony in West Vancouver Ambleside Park holds a special place in my heart as a West Vancouver treasure. Summer here is a buzz of activity—think sun-kissed swimming, breezy sailing, and the irresistible aroma of barbecues. And let’s not overlook the highlight: the summer music festival. Picture this: last year, we grooved to live tunes for an incredible 12 days straight, and it didn’t cost a dime! When spring rolls around, the park transforms into a pastel paradise with cherry blossoms painting a picture-perfect scene. Oh, and for the golf enthusiasts, there’s a charming par 3 course waiting to test your skills. Come autumn, the park is a canvas of crimson and gold, with leaves that’ll make your heart skip a beat with their beauty.
Great beach but! We went there for Iranian traditional ceremony of “charshanbeh sori” the stage is suitable for medium size gatherings and when it rains most of the space around stage is muddy so dress accordingly. The fire in the picture is part of Iranian tradition that before Persian new year people gather and celebrate the existence of fire in our lives and put negativity in fire to start new year positively by partying and jumping on top of small fire.

Rocky swimming beach & popular scuba diving spot featuring walking trails, a cafe & mountain views.
Slide 1 of 8
This area is studded with small rocky islands covered in greenery, set among cobalt blue waters. While en-route from Vancouver to Whitehorse on our Northern Lights trip last year, we saw a glimpse of this area from the airplane. It looked absolutely magical. On the ground, it lived up to its view from the sky. We had budgeted 30 minutes here, landed up spending close to an hour. With a rather nice climb atop one of the gnarly looking island/hills near the shore, the views were amazing. This area is popular with scuba divers, so the underwater view must be even more beautiful!
This Park is quite small, and a lot of visitors were here on weekends. In my opinion, the road to this location is more picturesque and more interesting than the Whytecliff. You can find here playground, washrooms and parking, but not a cafe. Also, I recommend you visit Horseshoe Bay Park, which is located nearby. He has many nice café and really amazing views.
It is more than love ❤️ An amazing place to connect with Mother Nature. Love the rocks. Love the views. Love the trails. If you get lucky enough, you can see the seals.. so special feeling to hear their voices... ❤️
Nice small park with seals hanging out on the rocks. There's a good playground, concession, scenic view, and a beach area. The location is popular for scuba diving and even some rock climbing lessons. Overall a great park.
Beware: paid parking to park within the park grounds. Other than the paid parking, this park is great to walk around and enjoy the nature. We saw seals, a blue heron, divers with oxygen tanks, people on the big boulders, and tons of natural scenery. From the drive of the narrow roads to the parking lot, you can already see the breathtaking scenery at Whytecliff Park. Beach is rocky so wear proper shoes.
The park is very famous for its scenic rocky beaches hiking trails and underwater diving area. The park is located on the west side of Horseshoe Bay, covering an area of about 40 acres. The entire park is surrounded by water on three sides and is about 70 meters above sea level. Everyday dozens of diving, swimming, sunbathing, free climbing, sampan and kayak lovers gather here, yachts and sailboats as well. It is worthy of being a water park. There is a playground that children like in the park. Staggering along the rugged coastline, it takes about 2 hours, stepping on large and small pebbles, balancing your body, and it is full of joy. on the way, you can always see the blue sky and white clouds in the sky, the mountain scenery in the distance, the sailing boats in the blue ocean, and the divers near the sea from time to time surfaced. When the tide is low, you can climb on Islet Rock. I like to stand on it. It feels like the edge of the sky and the sea. The scenic mountainsand, passing yachts and sailboats and the beautiful white waves are drawn on the water offer you a spectacular views to enjoy. Seagulls hover in the air and sing. Breathing the warm breeze from the sea, it’s very pleasant. I love diving in the ocean, no gravity, no weight, absolute freedom, flying like an astronaut exploring a whole new plant
Nice place for a sunset. Beautiful view, you have to jump & climb over big rocks to reach the top of the cliff for a good viewing point. But it's worth it! Easy to reach, but parking is usually full. If you want to grab a nice place, go ahead of time. The parking is through a very narrow street - don't be worried that you're on the wrong side! There are more parking spots on the uphill side (follow the signs - maps didn't give us good directions).
Wow, what a place it is😍. The water, the breeze, the rocks and the trees, alll in alll a place that makes you feel better. The view points are astonishing 😀 Please do visit if you're considering it. You'll have fun there. I went there with my friends and we enjoyed it to the fullest. Rest rooms are available and also there's a water tap (though it's at odd place, hidden on the side). Hope you'll have a great time if you visit 😇

Boat launch is good, Parking is a struggle. Only a few stalls accommodate truck and trailer
Expensive and crowded. The staff were helpful and polite but for $8 to launch my boat i would at least like to have access to a dock instead of walking my boat in the water. Parking was inadequate for an average size boat. I had to park my truck and trailer separately. I would not pay the $23 fee or take the time to go there again.
