A lot of fun for an entire family with a lot of Mexican souvenirs to be found. Great restaurants with great food and friendly service. A day of fun for an entire family where you can find jewelry, pottery, glassware, shirts, keychains, swimsuits, yard decor and so much more.
Vendors really kill the experience. Came here to buy souvenirs. Excellent place if you want to plan fun stuff. They have bars/restaurants/food. Planning your excursions (banana boat/booze cruise/etc). You know what you’re about the expect when you walk through here. $5 USD for parking/$100 pesos. You also have to pay for restrooms 50cents USD/$10 pesos, would recommend bringing your own wet wipes/baby wipes if they have additional charges for toilet paper/soap/hand towels.
Not the best area, very very crowded and the sales people are very intimidating constantly hassling you to try and come into their shop or buy something. Most respect when you say no but we had 3 different people following us asking us to come back or bringing us their items to try and get us to buy them. We looked in 1 shop and did not like the prices. The lady got mad at us for not buying after we asked for the prices. Bought a lot of things in Mexico, that was the first time I experienced that. Parking is streets meters only so bring quarters not pesos. I believe it was $1 per hour. The views of the water are beautiful though!
This is a pretty cool place where you can find vendors selling merchandise, food, drinks and activities to do. You can take pictures of statues and there's the ocean in the background. At night they had a live band playing lots of people out dancing very fun.
What a mess. No appeal, especially at night. Steet cart tried to sell me 3 small tacos for 400 peso or 22 usd. Homeless all over, tourist shops are junk, streets aren't clean, most places not even open even on weekends-close at 9pm or earlier. Bunch of loud and random music.
BEWARE! Difficult traffic and parking is a trap! Meters are confusing, they flash red whether you pay or not, and they will boot you if you don’t pay. Then you’ll wait hours to get someone to remove the boot. $25 for the pleasure. We are staying away from Old Port from this point forward.
The Old Port area in Puerto Penasco is an enchanting destination that captures the essence of coastal beauty and offers a memorable experience for visitors. Nestled along the sparkling Sea of Cortez, this vibrant hub is a must-visit when exploring Puerto Penasco. Stepping into the Old Port area feels like entering a picturesque seaside village. The cobblestone streets, colorful buildings, and quaint shops create a captivating charm that transports you to another time. Strolling through its narrow lanes, you'll discover a treasure trove of local crafts, artisanal products, and unique souvenirs that showcase the rich cultural heritage of the region.
Always love the sunsets ❤️ the night view from the cerró of the ballena es just so beautiful! You have to visit the restaurants to, dare to try new things!

This is truly one of the most welcoming and friendly places I’ve ever been. The staff is always kind, smiling, and ready to make you feel at home. The resort has beautiful pools, a relaxing jacuzzi, and the beach is just a one-minute walk away. The restaurant next door serves amazing seafood and the best chicken tortilla soup I’ve ever had. I will definitely be coming back and will happily recommend Playa Bonita to my friends and family. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!
I spent the night here with a friend. First, the staff was great. Respectful and prompt. My room was perfect. We had the beach view. The room was on the first floor, next time I'll ask for a higher floor. Had a wonderful time.
Stayed here for Rocky Point Rally. What a great experience! Motorcycle friendly parking, excellent room service, pool / jacuzzi, beach access, lots of security detail, and their restaurant Puesta del sol was so good I rarely got food anywhere else. Highly recommend.
Beach front ! Just walk down very nice staff clean rooms nice rates. The bar must Popular because music was going and the parking lot was full. Only thing is that rooms don't have microwaves or mini fridges. But they do offer complimentary Breakfast brunch. That was healthy and delicious and the ladies were very nice! Don't forget to tip
My family had a blast during our stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the pools were fun and awesome. We walked down to the beach from the pools and the drinks at the bar were delicious and great price.
Everyone is always so friendly, the rooms are so clean and updated, the restaurant and breakfast buffet is always so amazing, and the bar design is so beautiful! I love how they make you feel safe and you’re right on the beach! 10/10 would recommend to anyone wanting to visit Peñasco!
I went during an unpopular time of year, July. For this reason I was able to stay for a very reasonable price for 3 nights. It was hot but not unbearable. The beach helps with that. It's better to go about 5-6 pm. Waves are calmer and easter easier to swim in. The hotel is nice and it has great AC. The property feels very safe.
Very nice hotel, clean rooms, nice view of the ocean. All staff and doorman were very helpful. There is a restaurant and full bar.

La cholla was an amazing little Mèxican town. It has ocean views, you can barbecue drink, and swim. It is not too far from El malecon and Playa bonita, yet it is a quiet place. I recommend it 100%. It was a holiday weekend in the States, but it was not too busy at La Cholla.
Peaceful relaxing time. Water was a little on the cold side by the end of October. Didn’t know tick-o-treaters came to Choya. Next time we’ll be ready!
Daughter and son in law live in Colla Bay near Puerto Penesco Near the Sea of Cortez. Lovely spot!
I love to vacation with my friends and family in cholla bay
Chola Bay is a small fisherman town with it own vibes. Beautiful homes with great views but what is most precious is the bay tide. Family with kids and even adults goes treasure hunting when the bay is low You can walk far. When the tide is full so much fun. You can go paddle board or kayaking on the calm waters. Come to Chola Bay. Book with me FB page Renata Wong LoveRockypointravel
Always love my time in cholla. Everyone so friendly.
Needs to be cleaned. Party place only. It's only good if you have a boat and property there.
Some many cool shells and sea life! Very rocky though and didn't have the proper shoes to walk around with the kiddos. Also very busy

Very cute place. The owner is the sweetest lady. She has a beautiful collection of seashells from all over. There’s educational videos you can watch.
This is a fun little place to come and spend a couple hours on Fridays. It's small but it leaves a huge impression with wonderfully displayed selection of seashells. The museum is very well done and the bonus is to also go through the clothing section which is fun as well. It's free!
Great little museum. Lots of interesting information and well displayed. It was a pleasant surprise as we had low expectations going into it.
Wow!! This is an absolute must stop when visiting Rocky Point. The owner, Naomi was so accommodating so that we can visit during closed business hours and was super knowledgeable and informative about all the different kinds of seashells in the Pacific and Sea of Cortez. This was definitely a different experience and educational. Museum is great for both kids and adults and also has a cute boutique with unique pieces for sale. Please be advised that none of the seashells are for sale but they are lovely to look at. I will never look at seashells the same way I did before and can’t wait to be back in Rocky Point to search for more interesting seashells out in the sea :)
Incredible and very lovingly curated collection of shore and sea life in Puerto Peñasco and beyond. As a marine bio enthusiast with a degree in biology I was very impressed
We loved this place so much that we decided it will be a tradition to visit each time we are in PUerto Peñasco. Naomi was so accommodating we were able to visit during closed business hours and she was extremely knowledgeable and informative about all the different kinds of seashells and their history. The Myseum is a great experience for people of all ages, we all learned something new! Plus there's a wonderful shop attached where we found some amazing treasures for keepsakes and memories.
Fantastic place, Naomi and Russ were great...Lots to see. HIGHLY recommended. Naomi gave us a personal tour and Russ talked to us about living in Puerto Penasco. Be sure to ask about the Mermaid Market!!!.
This was a great off-the-beaten path find and worth visiting. It's not obvious from the Google Maps listing, but you should call and make an appointment ahead of time in the off-season.

Good place to get a quick bite. One star off because the pizza we ordered was undercooked. Had to take it home and stick it in the oven.

Cool stop for tourists . Locals and visitors selling their stuff. Cool place
Lovely little farmers market.

Are you looking for a resort or a house? Las Conchas has gorgeous houses but is further out. You can stay in a resort on the beach and be closer to things. I HIGHLY recommend eating at the restaurants in the fish market. 🙂
