Always wanted to visit. Was NOT disappointed! It was said the staff knew I was living an item on my bucket list. Alcohol was a bit exxy but that’s on the government. Rooms well appointed and meals were on point. Have to say our chips and gravy were NOT cold! The pier itself is surreal! We’ll be back, sooner rather than later!
Perfect location for what we wanted to see and do around Adelaide. Beds very comfortable, worth getting a sea view room. Gym and indoor pool were good.
Had a booking for 7 people on a Thursday night. Notable service for clearing plates, no floor staff. Eventually I got up and cleared our table, went into the kitchen with the dirty dishes. One of the cooks said "thank you". How many rules did I break. OHS? Union ruling? Insurance cover? Qualifications? Unacceptable. Dangerous. Rude. Bad PR. Bad business practice.
Great breakfast, staff are friendly, rooms have the best views and very roomy and coffee is to die for. It’s my go to for early morning breakfast anytime i am here in Glenelg. Thank you
In comparison to other hotels the room needs updating. Location cant be beaten, and the service team here a top rate.
had breakfast here great view lovely feed and big hats off to the young cook was buy himself a still smashed out the food quickly
Great value for money. Lovely beach and best burger i can remember. This place is a keeper. Lovely staff too.
No service at all, had to pick food up after after it was ready, carrying heavy plates, it's a wonder I didn't drop them. Food was pretty average, only place I know where they did not have table service.

Kids had a lot of fun at The Beachouse. Great idea with combination of water slides, arcade games and carnival type games. Many packages to choose from so best to research before you arrive. Parking is steep in cost so if you can street parking outside the venue, it could save you some $
I’ve experienced Beach House with my own friends, with over 100 children at a time with OSHC and with my 3 year old. This place is stimulating! My son and I love lights and noise so it was great for us! The merry go round was an accessible and enjoyable option for him, I was able to join him for no extra charge and he had a lot of fun on there! He was also desperate to try an arcade game and was convinced that it was him making all of those hoops 😉 I think that the place could do with a bit of an upgrade, a big clean and some new paint? Being by the ocean means that it probably gets damaged quicker than other places though.
A brilliant weekend for the kids with lots of laughter. Parents can also join in many games. The space is quite comfortable with great customer service. Always happy every time we come here with our children, because we see them happy.😄😄😄 Update: Again, we had a fantastic weekend with the kids, filled with laughter & fun. The customer service was friendly & welcoming as usual.
Place is so unloved needs a decent clean. Arcade games either broken partly damaged need topping up or just take your money with no go. Only thing good is the slides for now. Very costly for what it is now days. Not fun more unwelcoming and needs a bloody good clean
Beachhouse Playground is a family gem! Kids adore the creative, beach-themed equipment—especially the ship climber and sand play area. It’s spotlessly clean, shaded by palms, and safely fenced. Parents appreciate the comfy seating and ocean views. Perfect for sunny days, birthday parties, or post-beach energy burns. Pure childhood joy!
Most of the games were not functioning properly or at all (mind they still took credit) the mini golf is in need of a lot of maintenance and stunk of stagnant water. Playground seems to have vanished since our last visit. Absolute waste of money. The place needs a massive overhaul.
I didn’t really have a good time at The Beach House. Most of the arcade games were broken or not working, which was really disappointing. The water slides weren’t running, and the water boats were also closed. For the price they charge, I expected much more. Overall, it felt overpriced and not worth the visit
The Beach house at Glenelg was very enjoyable. We met some old Family members there and enjoyed our time together.

A lovely little stop at Glenelg. A lovely piece of history with free entry, friendly staff and activities for kids as well. Bring some $1 coins if you want to use the old carnival machines.
A great display of local history. Visited with my elderly father , lift & toilet’s available. Staff were friendly & knowledgeable. Gold coin donation for entry. Highly recommended.
The lovely ladies at the service desk help us with finding the activities, talking about some of the displays, then with post cards to send off. We went up and down the stairs and used the elevator. And coloured in some sea life for the picture wall.
I've walked past this beautiful historic building countless times but I finally decided to enter and have a look around. The ladies behind the desk were extremely welcoming, and I gladly left a donation. If you have time, it is definitely worth a look inside, especially if you're interested in the local history of Glenelg and the wider Adelaide region. Really informative without being an information overload. Everything is well laid out and there are some local artifacts worth looking at. Highly recommend!
A great addition to your visit to Glenelg. Pop in for a mini trip back in time that will give you a glimpse of what Glenelg used to be like. Yes, it’s child friendly and interactive. You can take photos and the staff is very welcoming. Big plus, it’s free entry!
A great information and museum. Plenty of activities for children. Lots of historical exhibits and item for the older ones. Great to see some of the old amusement saved and put on show. Well worth a visit with a donation entry fee. Knowlegable volunteers on hand to answer your questions.
The Bay Discovery Centre is a wonderful Museum. It showcases the timeless and rich historic past of Glenelg and Adelaide. They have amazing videos, pictures, replicas and artifacts that shows the great past. It is very eerie and humbling, informative and sentimental self paced tour. The Museum is situated at the heart of the bustling Glenelg jetty, surrounded by the tram, cafes, restaurants, the beach, and kids park. It's easy access wheelchair friendly, has wonderful welcoming staff and volunteers. The halls are clean and bright, it has 3 levels. It has a kids corner where you can entertain the kids for a colouring in and a picture area. There is a donation box on the way to the 2nd floor. Elevators are available for people who need them. There are seats scattered inside the museum and guests are asked to look but not touch to preserve the authenticity of the artifacts. It's a medium sized museum, you can walk it in 15 minutes easily however remember it is a museum so take time to learn about the rich past which in one way or another has affected your future. A toilet is available however is not open due to Covid. The historical sections are spaced out so you don't feel cramp despite the size of the place, it has very high ceilings and well lighted despite having a few windows inside the 2nd and 3rd floors. It's Clean and well ventilated, no car parks available in the museum however you can park around the jetty area for a times one and free in the residential areas nearby.
Excellent. Don't tell me, show me: installations are set up to give an impression of the times past, the beach culture and achievements in sport. There are activities to keep little children occupied for a while. It is only open for a short period daily but staff, maybe volunteers, are always there to assist and they are great.

Extremely helpful. We got there just before they closed but were in no rush for us to leave. Great information. Asked about public transport in to Adelaide and were given free seniors travel cards that we used on buses and trams. Well worth a visit!
Elizabeth and Roger particularly on front desk were amazing. Great local knowledge and overall lovely people
Great place for information and help. Really nice lady told us about bus pass for seniors and places to visit. Highly recommend calling in for information. Thanks so much. Great service.
Lovely place to visit to understand the history of Glenelg. Staff were super helpful in showing us walks we can do around the area and information when requested
Well worth a visit catching tram was exciting sometimes it's free other times you pay
The Centre is centrally and conveniently located in the Town Hall building on Glenelg beach. It was spacious and well-displayed, with various brochures and maps available. We were fortunate to be assisted by Geoffrey, who is very knowledgeable about locations and up-to-date local activities, yet with such a relaxing style, it made an excellent start to our visit during the first hour in Adelaide.
The staff was very kind and helpful. They really made us welcome and offered suggestions of things to do, how to get there. We also enjoyed the adjoining museum. Special thanks to the tall lady who worked there on Tuesday Oct 10 who was marvellous.
Wanted to give a shout out to volunteer Lesley McCauley who was so very helpful and knowledgeable about the area! she gave many great ideas of throngs to see and included some Australian history . The information center was wonderful place for visitors to learn more about the area and best things to see ! Thanks again Leslie!

Such an amazing place for kids. It's a hidden place though. Shady and quiet.
Old Gum Tree Reserve is a charming and historic park, significant as the birthplace of South Australia. Near this very spot, on December 28, 1836, British Governor John Hindmarsh announced the establishment of the South Australian colony, marking a foundational moment in the state’s history. Though unassuming at first glance, the reserve is nestled in a quiet residential area and offers a rich sense of history for visitors. A trip to the nearby Glenelg Museum in the Town Hall building is highly recommended for those interested in learning more about this landmark. The park is thoughtfully designed for families, with ample picnic tables, BBQ facilities, and a well-maintained playground for children. It’s fully fenced, offering peace of mind for parents, and includes public toilets for convenience. Dog-friendly, it’s also a wonderful spot for pet owners. Whether you’re visiting for its historical importance or simply enjoying a day out with family and friends, Old Gum Tree Reserve is a lovely spot for gatherings.
A beautiful and well maintained park and playground.Family friendly. Full of History. Only issue was play equipmentwas unusable. A warm day and all was far to hot for grandchild to use. Maybe council needd to consider canopies over top as we do promote safe sun play. .So please consider.A beautiful place.to bring the kids
It was a beautiful afternoon when I got to go here the park is nicely kept and it was just peaceful
Great reserve for families with kids. Very well structured, with lots of areas for kids to play, to do picnic, a public toilet and barbecue area. It is also fenced, so you can rest assured that your kid won't leave the park area.
Clean and big open space. The grass is well kept unlike other nearby dog parks
It's such an unassuming place. This spot is where the state of South Australia was declared, i.e. the state birthplace. But it looks like just another park within a built-up residential area. Highly recommended for a visit to the Glenelg Museum in the Town Hall building to learn more about this landmark.
I thought it would be good to see that historical figure of a mulberry tree as it has only one lavatory (public toilet)
