We had a nice time here. Clean place good enough to host large number of people. Lilydale Lake is a serene haven located in the heart of Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. Spanning over 28 hectares, this picturesque lake and its surrounding parkland offer a perfect escape for nature lovers, families, and outdoor enthusiasts. The lake features walking and cycling tracks, picnic areas, playgrounds, and opportunities for water activities like kayaking and fishing. Its tranquil waters are framed by lush greenery, making it a popular spot for birdwatching and photography. Whether you’re enjoying a peaceful stroll, a barbecue with friends, or simply soaking in the natural beauty, Lilydale Lake is a cherished destination that blends relaxation with recreation.
Great spot to enjoy family time, or some quiet time. Be active or relax. Plenty of space, facilities and options. Excellent parking access.
We had a community gathering here. This park has several places for parking, playgrounds, toilets and very easy for the disabled to access. There were mobile cafe with ice cream. I had my coffee from there. I walked around the lake that was great experience. We had bbq as well.
The lake was bigger than I thought it would be, I'm used to walking on the Dandenong Creek trail which is popular with bike riders, this track was relaxing not to have bikes whizzing past. Seating around the track is good. Clean and tidy, we were there on a weekday and there were quite a few people around probably because the weather was good. The weekends would be busier. Beautiful lake.
Lily Dale is widely celebrated as a unique spiritual destination, offering events, readings, healing sessions, and workshops in a peaceful, nature-filled environment that resonates with many visitors.
Great place to go for a walk, a play and some off lead doggy time. Have been coming here for 30 years!
beautiful lake for leisure walk.
Beautiful park for families with young kids. Quiet a few families do birthday parties since it has pretty good setup and plenty of things to do.

Attended a beautiful birthday lunch here on a sunny Sunday. There is plenty of outdoor seating and lawn for activities and also a covered balcony area in the restaurant. The wine was lovely and the pizzas were tasty too. I was a bit disappointed they were not hand made bases but the toppings were good, especially the lamb pizza. Overall a great place for a large group and a relaxing afternoon
We found this place through Google, and we had a good time here today. Delicious pizza is provided here, and there is also a very good wine tasting service. We tasted a wide variety of red wine, and thank you for the good service here. The winery is also a very dog-friendly place.
A great, relaxing spot to enjoy quality time with family and friends. The venue is pet-friendly and child-friendly, with plenty of seating available. Guests are welcome to bring their own mats for a picnic setup, though food service is not provided in the picnic area. There are balls available for kids to play with on the grassy areas. Clean restrooms and friendly staff add to the pleasant experience. The place is also suitable for hosting events. Food and drinks are reasonably priced, though the menu offers a limited selection.
WOW! I think I have found my new favourite winery 🍷 I had read the great reviews of Helen’s Hill and had high expectations… these were exceeded! We booked here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and so glad we did! What a beautiful spot. Googled a winery that was dog friendly and picked HH. Dog friendly is putting it lightly - the dogs are welcomed into all areas. Pram friendly and lots of space for kids to run around. The wine tasting was excellent, very detailed and engaging. The pizza was one of the best, all small plates were super tasty. Super fast service and very friendly efficient staff. Highly recommend here if your looking for a delicious lunch, great wines, a chilled out and relaxed vibe and are wanting to take your furry friend along 🌟
Came here yesterday with my Mum and Step Dad for my 29th birthday. I had never heard of Helen’s Hill. But it is one of my favourite wineries. The staff were lovely, food was amazing, views were spectacular and wine was delicious. I’ve recommended to co workers and will definitely be coming back.
During my friend's tasting session, I also learnt a lot to get to know how these premium wines are produced and differences in various options. It was quite insightful experience and wish to visit again on my trip. And it was my first time to see many Kangaroo in the farm on my third visit in Melbourne. 😝
Great place to enjoy a nice winery lunch. Reasonable price and portion, nice vibe and beautiful scenery. Special compliment to Annie and Emma for their friendly services.
Very relaxing winery perfect to bring the kids whilst catching up with friends and family. We sat outside and there are balls, cricket bats, a sandpit and plenty of space for the kids to run around. We had a variety of pizza, arrancini, the charcuterie box and the lemon meringue pies - food is decent and reasonably priced. A small selection of beer on tap and plenty of wines. A good day out!

We love visiting the gallery & museum in Lilydale. The ongoing exhibitions are always a hit with the kids who love to learn about their local history. The temporary exhibitions are vast, engaging and often very informative! We loved the Bec Opin exhibition which was such a kid-focused exhibit. Loved how interactive it was. I went a couple of times with and without kids! The front desk often have a little craft corner which we've spent many hours creating in. It is such a calm, peaceful and creative environment to be in. Perfect for kids and adults.
Last Sunday I went to see A Toast to Melba at the Yarra Ranges Regional Museum which is the story of Dame Nellie Melba and had a great time. The exhibition was very interesting and well presented.
My museum outing was nothing short of exceptional—beautifully executed in every way. The exhibits told stories in inventive and deeply human ways. The staff welcomed me with enthusiasm and shared their knowledge effortlessly. I especially enjoyed the interactive components, which were both informative and fun. The museum felt pristine and organized, with peaceful spaces for contemplation. The overall atmosphere was both uplifting and warm. A must-stop for anyone seeking an enriching cultural escape.
A lovely and beautifully presented small museum with interesting exhibitions - we learnt a lot! Toby and his colleague (sorry we didn't catch her name!) made our visit so lovely, taking the time to chat with us, tell us about the stories behind certain artefacts and give us local recommendations (since we're visiting from the UK). We really enjoyed our visit, it was a great thing to do on a rainy day. Would recommend allowing anywhere between 45 mins and 1.5 hours to visit, depending on how much you take your time/chat!
Lovely day there with my daughter, highly.recommend the experience, finished off in the cafe which was great.
Great space. Good COVID-19 protocols. Enjoyed the local history in the permanent exhibit, plus the display of quilts. Well worth a visit.
Free entry and pretty quiet. Great exhibition to see how the white people colonised and took over the native lands of the now called Yarra ranges.
Great museum! Photos are from the dhumba njan dhumba njarr exhibition, which celebrates the UNESCO International Year of Indigenous Languages

Fantastic eatery, friendly staff visually interesting and delicious food at a reasonable price. Will definitely be back to try more of their intriguing menu items.
What a pleasant surprise to find this nice little place for a lovely lunch. Plenty of menu items to select from. Great smoothie drinks. Well supplied provodore in the adjacent sp noace.
Genuine 5 stars across the board. The food was delightful and not expensive. The ambiance was lovely and the staff were warm and friendly. Will be back for sure to try more menu items!
We were absolutely thrilled with the catering for our wedding. The food was outstanding, and many of our guests came to tell us how much they enjoyed it. The lamb was so tender, the fish was flavorful, and even the carrots were melt in your mouth yummy. They were also very accommodating and adaptable in terms of serving dishes at different times and in different areas to suit our schedule. We made quite a few last-minute changes, but they handled everything calmly and efficiently. We had both cocktail canapes and sit down reception at our wedding and they organised everything seamlessly with fresh and warm food despite the cold outdoor setting. The quality and attention to detail really stood out, and the service helped create such a warm, enjoyable atmosphere. We couldn’t have asked for better service. Highly recommend them to anyone planning an event!
Just had a wonderful brunch at Locavore. The decor and atmosphere are lovely, the service was friendly and prompt and the food was fresh, high standard and beautifully presented. The best brunch experience for a long time. I just wish we weren't passing through as I'd visit every week otherwise. A lovely start to a sunny Sunday morning!
Had breakfast here with my cousin. We both had the Fried Chicken Benny. It was something different, and we both enjoyed it. Wish I lived closer so I could have it again. Well, it's worth a visit if you are feeling peckish and in the area. Coffee was good as well.
Food was exquisite! It left a lasting impression as my hubby was still raving about it 3 hours later, claiming that his burps still tasted like the food and it was making him want to go back for seconds 🤣 The cafe was much classier than this comment lol!
After a pleasant stay in Lilydale our group of 4 wanted a good cafe experience to leave on. We got it. It was already popular at 10am on this Sunday - plenty of seats (in and out) meant no wait. The peak hour was 10.30 to 11.30 We stayed long enough to see the numbers ease off by noon. Food was colourful and tasty. Coffee (long black) was excellent. Staff were smiley and friendly and efficient. This place has a 4.5 rating currently. This would be my rating if you could give half marks. Adjoining the cafe is a providore offering all sorts of fun stuff like cheese, pastries, jams and other tasty looking treats made locally. They are not cheap. What they are is good quality and worth paying extra for.

Recently went to see 'Suite Surrender' at the Lilydale Athenaeum Theatre as a birthday gift. This theatre is a priceless gem! The red foyer and entrance area really catches your attention. The show started on time with a largely older audience. Intermission and tea, coffee, juice or water was served with a side of shortbread. At the end of the show, wine was served - and all included in the reasonable ticket price! I loved reading the plaques in the theatre of previous supporters. I ventured into the Dame Nellie Melba room and enjoyed the display there too. In fact, I felt like I was stepping back in time into Country Australia - it was an endearing experience!
It is a classic, historical, nice and comfy place to watch the performance. Welcoming and polite staff are there. And a coffee time is a nice break too.
A wonderful local experience. Step back in time into the foyer, collect your pre-theatre drink and socialise or catch up on the history of Dame Nellie Melba, then enjoy quality productions with cup of tea and biscuits at interval. End your night with a glass of wine or soft drink plus a chance to meet the actors and crew. Repeat every few months with season tickets for something to always look forward to. What a treat!
I love going here, I wish they had more shows so I could go more often. Always an awesome night out. Thank you 😊
A beautiful theatre that has retained the old-world theatre charm. A perfect venue for the theatre group to showcase their plays. We have never been disappointed with any of their performances. Far from it. We have always enjoyed an evening of quality theatre performance.
Such a great venue and always good plays, the staff are welcoming and ever so friendly.
Small, not too fancy, warm and familiar. This theatre is like stepping back in time, being served with wine at the entrance, free juice and cookies. Being close to the stage and meeting the cast after the play makes this place special. Give it a try, you won't regret it.
Beautiful old theatre. It has a wonderful ambience of years past.
