My girlfriend and I spent 2 nights at the retreat and it was brilliant... despite being 40 degrees all weekend. A very quiet and peaceful area, free to roam whenever we pleased. Jerry was really nice when we arrived. Will definitely be returning. Worth every cent.
Beautiful gardens, luxurious rooms in 1800s buildings, king bed, spacious, sunken spa, on grounds with Moorooroo park vineyards on-site, so many wineries close by, great restaurants in Tanunda and Nuriootpa. Enjoy a BBQ with great meat from Nuriootpa co-op, beside the fire pit. They cover ever detail to make it an enjoyable stay.
A beautiful retreat to stay at. There are four separate cottages on beautiful grounds. The grounds have numerous fountains, swimming pool, barbeques and fire pits. Our cottage has a king size bed, and bathroom has a large shower and a sunken spa. Tea and coffee facilities in the room. Quiet, spacious, beautiful surroundings. Well worth the stay
This was/is a special place. So quiet, just gorgeous setting. I would come back here in a heartbeat. The one thing I would have wanted to know is the nearest restaurant is in town so plan on driving 8 minutes for dinner. That being said, I hit foodland and enjoyed having my own meals after some wine tasting. The BBQ facilities were great. The beauty of the property is indescribable. I hope to return
Rustic isolated cabin for escape and rest. Loft bedroom could challenge physically but large spa tub and cozy setting make for nice getaway outside of Tanunda. Long(ish) walk to Rockford and Charles Melton but adjacent to Woorooroo tasting room.
We had a wonderful stay in the Orchard and Seville Suites in Jacobs Creek Retreat for 3 nights in late Sep, 2024. The suites were beautifully decorated and surrounding gardens were stunning. Jerry was highly responsive and most helpful in sharing local tips. At sunrise, we saw kangaroos near the vineyards behind the retreat which was amazing! On our final evening, Jerry made special arrangements in the Orchard Suite for us to dine in style. All in all, I highly recommend the retreat as it’s very charming and zen and in close proximity of the town of Tanunda where we found lovely restaurants. The Barossa Valley has so much to offer and staying somewhere like Jacobs Creek Retreat made our experience that much more special.
We highly recommend this amazing place. This cute quiet out of the way accommodation, was everything we were after and more. We booked the Fuschia suite for our first wedding anniversary getaway. I requested some extra goodies as a welcome surprise , we were met with some cute local products . I appreciate that gesture so much. The rustic charm suite had all the amenities we needed including a lively spa bath. Highly recommend this place and will be back in the future.

First time in the Barossa Valley. St. Hugo's was our very first stop on Anzac Day. Angela was an amazing host with our tasting session. She had to juggle a few tables but did so with elegance and ease. Loved the Riesling. Loved the whole estate. Was magic. Five stars. We cannot wait to return ☺️
Our favourite winery - and all the way from Brisbane to see it and we have purchased some beautiful wines and popped ourselves on the mailing list - next time we will have a feed here we hear it is pretty good- staff exceptionally helpful!
went for the wine tasting at st hugo, with jodie being our friendly and amazing host! 🤭 she made the experience so enjoyable and i was very impressed by her knowledge of wines! she was able to describe them perfectly which really enhanced our wine tasting experience 🤍 thank you very much for the lovely time, we truly enjoyed it and can’t wait to come back in the near future! 🍷
What an incredible day at St Hugo in the Barossa Valley! The Garden to Table experience felt less like a formal wine tasting and more like spending the afternoon with good friends who just happen to be amazing chefs and wine experts. We started with a glass of Champagne and a stroll through the vineyards to the Kitchen Garden, where Adrian walked us through how they grow and use the produce on their seasonal menu. It really made us appreciate how much thought goes into every dish. Back at the restaurant, we were seated right at the open kitchen, watching the Executive Chef Simon Hicks and his skilled team at work while enjoying a beautiful four-course menu perfectly matched with St Hugo wines. The food was fresh and full of flavour, and the pairings couldn’t have been better. Offering alternative dishes to suit dietary requirements. Seeing the professional response to special requests for dining room guests and whipping up amazing cheese platters at short notice for the cellar door. The lamb cutlets were tender and delicious. The custard tart with gelato prepared from scratch in house was the stand out dish. Amazing. What really stood out, though, was the atmosphere — it honestly felt like a five-hour lunch with close friends, full of laughter, great conversation, and shared stories over incredible food and wine. A truly special experience — relaxed, intimate, and full of heart. I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Highlight of our long weekend in the Barossa Valley 🍷✨
We spend a most enjoyable time with Jodie & Paul. They were both so knowledgeable, friendly & informative about the history of the family, region & winery. We appreciated the tour of the premises & would highly recommend their wine tasting and a visit to this beautiful environment.
We did Discovery and Signatures tastings. The staff were kind and very polite. The whole experience was executed in a relaxed manner, we were not rushed or pressured.
Where to start..... We got married at St Hugo last weekend. Saturday the 1st and OMG Brittany and the team were absolutly amazing. They went above and beyond to make our day special and perfect. The chef even agreed to serve up garlic bread 😊 Food and service was faultless They treated our kids with kindness and respect even helped our son spell "congratulations"so he could write it correctly in the guest book. We are truely greatful to you all. We had the perfect day, everything we dreamed it would be Thanks again
We were impressed as soon as we walked n to the dining room. The food and beverage staff were very accomodating, friendly and took care of all our requests. We had a few allergies and they were so kind in helping us. Including the chef who says hi 👋 when you walk pass the open kitchen. We had a wonderful experience there and highly recommend that you pay the dining room a visit. The food is very well prepared and the chef took very careful steps In making sure that our allergies were addressed. The chef were jovial and made us feel very well taken care of with his delicious food. We Weill definitely return to enjoy the wine, the food and the company.

Barossa & Light Cab Service recommend Jenke Vineyards on a regular basis to tourists who ask about wineries to visit. We like Jenke because of the intimate, personal tasting experience that customers receive, and when this is combined with good old fashioned Barossa hospitality, then we find our customers come back, telling us that it was a memorable experience. The wines are also brilliant here,, and the prices are in our view very reasonable. Be sure to drop in here the next time you are passing through Rowland Flat.
Today they had a pop-up open to the public so it always pay to follow on social media. So we decided to make the trip to their cellar door which is a back in time building with some amazing characters to make you enjoy some sensational and palate perfect wines from the last few years with Marks touch and also some tastes from the museum wines of Kim’s Touch. If they ain’t Open give them a call and make a booking.
Hands down best wine I’ve tasted in the Barossa. The Jenke‘a are also the most welcoming hosts. 10/10 for wine value. Sign me up!
The wines at Jenke Vineyards are amazing! Better still, I just love driving through here, all of the vineyards are just so amazing to see while theyre preparing for harvest season!
Very personal tasting, beautiful location the woman who served us made it so worth the visit. Beautiful wines, one of our favorites.
Wonderful place, Great service and Awesome wine. Thumbs up.
Some of the nicest wines I have ever tasted!
Had a lovely chat while going wine tasting, unreasonably good prices for some very palatable wine - apparently the whole place has only one employee, and all wines made by the owner with a little help during vintage. Charming! Recommend the noble semillon for those who like sweet wines.

Had a lovely time here. Wine tasting was delicious and Diego was an amazing and knowledgeable host. Will be back for sure.
We couldn’t have wished for anything else from our Barossa Valley wine experience. Our host struck the perfect balance between being informative and witty. We visited beautiful winery , tasted great wines and lunch was delicious, with no problems catering for special dietary requirements. Would recommend this tour at the beginning of your SA holiday as host has a thorough knowledge of the area and lots of great tips on things to do. Great value for money. Highly recommended! My partner was very excited as it was a dream come true for him to visit this place as he absolutely love to try different kind of wines This place has a different magical vibe which you will experience once you will visit this place yourself ❤️ So pack your bag guys and plan your trip to this amazing wineries and you will never regret I bet on that Cheers ❤️
We had an okay time doing the wine Tasting, thought the service could've been better. The lady was a bit short with us and wondered off on her lunch break, the man we had in place of her was okay but a little hard to read with his facial expressions. Having said that, the price was great for the wine and the scenery, vineyards and grounds were lovely.
Well worth a visit for a tasting also good for kangaroos
Andy was amazing!! Excellent service and very patient. Explained each bottle so carefully and offered such amazing service! Wonderful experience. Definitely recommend especially service from Andy!!
Fantastic venue, however service was extremely poor by comparison to Seppeltfields, St Hugo and Chateau Tununda. There was no one in the building and all staff said they were fully booked for tasting!! It appeared that they were trying to clean up and wind down. Not impressed at all!
beautiful place and nice wine
Did the masterclass and was so happy with every aspect of the session. They challenged the stereotype of pay more and get less. The food was amazing AND they didn't underprovide. Nick was highly knowledgable and friendly as with the rest of the staff. Beautiful place and I would recommend this to anyone, even like myself who don't drink wine!

Barossa & Light Cab Service rate The Keg Factory 5 out of 5 stars, because there is quality here, with the hand crafted port and spirit kegs, and we, at Barossa & Light Cab Service like the oak that is used here in the these kegs, which we find gives a richness and character to the fortified wines that we have. We love the keg that we bought from The Keg Factory, and be sure to drop in to The Keg Factory, when you are looking for a Keg, because you will not be disappointed.
A really interesting place to visit. You can purchase a range of kegs and oak (upcycled barrel staves) platters, wine glass holders and similar accessories etc.,...much cheaper than similar products available at the Tanunda Tourism office. Additionally you get to watch coopers (through the large workshop window) building port kegs using a range of modern and traditional tools, machines, and techniques. Highly recommended for all, especially those who like woodworking and port!
Bought a 9L keg 19 years and 9 months ago. Just found the receipt and 20 year warranty. This keg has gone the distance including 5 interstate moves and around 7 moves. I would highly recommend these guys if you are considering getting a keg.
Great bunch of people making barrels and kegs. Happy to shoot the breeze and discuss the making process.
I have from the Keg Factory a 20lt port keg white port and musket keg and now will get a keg for my scotch.
Friendliest staff. Extremely helpful and very interesting talking about their trade.

Very beautiful part of North Adelaide. Many lovely winerys in the area
Great wine tour, we enjoyed our driver, Roy, with his quick wit & jokes. Most wines were excellent, all of the servers were great. We would go again!
The winery tour with tasting and lunch was an exquisite experience, led by the knowledgeable guide, Baden. His commentary struck the perfect balance between being informative and engaging, sprinkled with delightful anecdotes. Each of the three wineries visited offered a unique perspective on winemaking, providing a diverse and enriching journey through the Barossa wine region. The highlight was undoubtedly the lunch, featuring a generous selection of high-quality platters, allowing us to indulge in a variety of flavors that complemented the wine tastings perfectly. Overall, it was a memorable day trip, characterized by impeccable service, delightful wines, and a relaxed ambiance. I highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking an authentic and enjoyable wine-tasting experience in the Barossa Valley.
Barossa Valley is a wine lover’s paradise! Rolling vineyards, charming cellar doors, and exquisite local wines make every visit a delightful experience. The scenic landscapes and gourmet food are unforgettable.
The Barossa Valley, just an hour's drive from Adelaide, remains one of Australia's most iconic wine regions. With over 150 wineries and more than 80 cellar doors, it offers a rich tapestry of experiences for wine enthusiasts. Diverse Wine Styles: While the region is renowned for its bold Shiraz, it also produces exceptional Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Mataro. Emerging producers are introducing lighter, biodynamic styles, reflecting a shift towards more nuanced winemaking . Innovative Practices: Wineries like Treasury Wine Estates are embracing cutting-edge technology, such as automated barrel halls, to enhance production efficiency and sustainability . Rich Heritage: The Barossa's history is deeply intertwined with German Lutheran settlement, influencing both its winemaking traditions and culinary offerings
A beautiful visit for a platter and tasting. Scarlett was young and knowledgeable. Friendly staff, delicious wine and locally sourced platter that enabled a taste sensation with the wine. Will definitely make this a seasonal spot and can't wait to get my hands on the E & E! Even on a dull, cold, winters day it's gorgeous.
Iconic Australian wine region making world class reds, especially Shiraz. It features some of the oldest vines in the country and produces some of the most well-known wines, such as the coveted Penfold's Grange Hermitage. There is something here for everyone and you'd be a fool not to go if you like your 🍷 So so much to see and do and not just wineries. We got help from the local tourist information centre, who were absolutely great, and booked a mini tour buss of the different types of wineries ,you can't go to all of them there's several hundred and it was fantastic fun. But! We also went to cheese factories, Gin distillers, Magge Beers, Dried fruits and so many more. The tourist information centre was able to book us into all sorts of special events as well, as an example a tea and cheese matching tasting at the Barrossa Valley Cheese Company & more. There's many types of Stay Facility available as well, from luxury to look after yourself units with full facilities. Great place, nice people, amazing wines, excellent food and I'm picky when it comes to food.
This place is as sick as I was after two rosé bottles in between the vines. Would absolutely get drunk there again. Bars and Pubs are lacking but the valley makes up for it with cool spots like the Barossa Valley Estate which offers very good deal for wine tasting in a charming atmosphere
