A beautiful piece of magnificent history right in the centre of town. So many stories to discover and amazing architecture to admire. Well worth a visit and if you're lucky, you might hear the choir practising, or the organist playing a tune!
A beautifully designed and built cathedral. Are there better ones - depends upon what is considered better, this one is full of history and stunning architectural details. There was a 5 pound charge to visit the chancel but I did not think that excessive considering the maintenance costs on this building. If you visiting Peterborough, this is not to be missed. Also a lovely place for some self reflection and hop out of the daily trials of life.
What a great cathedral. The architecture is amazing and walking inside its so spacious and the art work is amazing. Such a peaceful place. The cathedral is right in the city centre of Peterborough and you can’t miss it with the walk way leading to it. The cathedral looks so beautiful and grand from the outside and when you walk in it looks so nice
An impressive building with the three arches. The Nave is beatiful too with the wooden ceilings, etc. An amazing building. But, I was disappointed to find that in order to visit the chancel and other areas at the back of the cathedral, I would have to pay an entrance fee of £5.50, you have to buy tickets at the information desk. There is no clear signage of that being the case, nothing to inform me of this. You need to be more clear as it does not say on your website or indeed on any signage that I looked at that there is a fee.
Like majority of Cathedrals in the UK, Peterborough cathedral has stunning Gothic architecture and a real sense of history. The intricate ceilings and beautiful stained glass are breathtaking, and the peaceful atmosphere makes it a perfect place to pause and reflect.
I have visited a lot of Cathedrals over the year across England, and this has to be one of best that l have seen. l was very impressive with both the inside and the outside of this cathedral. I would highly recommend coming here. The cathedral is free to visted, but there is a donation box/card reader if you would like give something.
Superlative example of a cathedral lots of spectacular details and information and friendly and helpful staff. Gift shop didn't seem open and if they did contactless donations we would have.
This is one of my favourite cathedrals in UK, just beautiful. Check out their xmas fayre in November each year .. fabulous

An amazing largescale park with lake and river side trails through many different types of landscape from woodland to meadow which provides access to a huge range of wildlife. In addition there are many other amenities within the area including two cafes and a visitor centre alongside various activity zones. Whether visiting the area or as a local resident there are so many things to see and do. Definitely worth a visit!
My girlfriend and I came here, and it's a lovely walk. In some sections, it feels very close to nature, while others are clearly designed for children to play. It's a wonderful place for a quiet day out.
Visited many times, but today just the wooden trail. However, the whole park it's perfect to go for walks, visit different sites like coffee shops, playgrounds for the children, ride on the train ( this will depend on the days and weather), and also boat rides (this is seasonal). There's a lot in here, as sometimes they do events as well. Always look at the website for what's happening. But, if you like nature like I do, Ferry meadows is a great escape from the town of Peterborough.
Beautiful place has a lot to offer, play areas, BBQ, pedal boats, and lots of walking trails. A small train that takes you on a tour of the park, cafes and toilet facilities. Various parking locations which you pay when you leave. Very pretty place, would definitely return for another visit.
Lovely place for a day out .plenty of walks. parks for kiddies cafe and ice-cream stall and a train to take you round the park. We stayed on the caravan site for few days it was nice .you can also tents in a different area .
Ferry Meadows in Nene Park, is beautiful and peaceful place to relax and enjoy nature. The big lake is perfect for fishing and just relaxing. There are plenty of walking trails, running areas, and horseback riding avaliable. Plenty of adventure woodlands, large picnic areas, and a variety of wildlife, it’s an ideal destination for families, nature lovers, or anyone looking for a calm escape outdoors.
Visited here for the Saturday morning parkrun. Loads of onsite parking which is only £1 for park runners. This is very well attended event , with 600 people on the day. The park is great with loads of facilities including toilets, cafes etc. The run is two out and back loops, there are some 2way parts that get a little squeezed but for most of it there is plenty of room. Its all flat and alot of tarmac so its a fast course. Lots of marshalls all doing a great job, this is a must visit parkrun.
Parking £4-8. Very beautiful and scenic. Cafe was busy and their way of doing drinks was odd, tea was made and put on the tray but we had to wait for the coffee (they hold back the tray) so tea was cold. Coffee was around £4, cake £4 . Watersports and activities available on site for extra charges. Picnic area and play park. Short walk around the lake and some other paths that we didn't get chance to visit as it was just a short visit.

Great experience. The excitement of my young child on seeing Thomas and getting to have a ride made it. Staff were very friendly and engaging with the children which is great to see. It's a gem working to preserve a very important part of our history and worth every penny.
Fabulous railway experience from a bygone age. Two hour duration if you choose to run the entire line there and back. There's plenty of eateries along the journey at stations or on board the catering car. There are workshops and a museum to explore as well. A thoroughly enjoyable day out.
If your into this kind of thing it is upmost a wonderful day out. The volunteers are absolutely lovely me and the wife had a very nice few hours away from the kids. Unfortunately we did not have the steam train because no one to drive it but all in all a lovely day and very relaxing 😎
Popped along to the Thomas Branch Line Experience with my son and daughter. This goes from Wansford to Yarwell. Easy to get tickets online (advised). Plenty of parking when we arrived. Great facilities including toilets, cafe and gift shop. The staff/volunteers are so pleasant. We even got to go on the footplate of Thomas! We didn't travel the full line this day towards Peterborough (which was being pulled by a Class 45 with Continental Coaches), but this is definitely something we plan to do in the future.
Visited for the Afternoon Tea train ride, we were able to book a Gluten Free option which was clearly marked and separate on the platter! It was such a lovely afternoon out and we're looking forward to visiting again soon
A really lovely afternoon out. No steam trains at the moment due to the potential for sparks causing fires along the way. The countryside is tinder dry. We had a very good diesel instead. We had a lovely compartment to ourselves. A small cafe and loo in the train also.
We had a fantastic day out at Nene Valley Railway! We started with a lovely picnic on the train, with a cup of tea from the train’s bar carriage. The café served a delicious Bakewell tart that was the perfect treat before our steam train adventure. One of the highlights was getting the chance to drive a train – an unforgettable experience! We even spotted Thomas the Tank Engine having a day off, which was a delightful surprise for kids (and grown-ups alike). Nene Valley Railway is a wonderful destination for families and anyone with a love of trains. Between the authentic steam engines, friendly staff, and relaxed atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to make special memories. Highly recommended!
Enjoyable morning, belated fathers day gift, tea room at Overton nice, staff on and off the platform friendly and really seemed to enjoy their work.

We had good seats over looking track, service was decent, young staff but who wants to work weekend evenings eh... Didn't have to leave booth, food & drink service was to table & could also place bets at table. Made for a nice relaxed evening & could enjoy the racing!
A great place to come for an evening out.you can have a good meal and dont even have to leave your table to place a bet Food in the raceview restaurant is on par with any other restaurant. They offer 3 packages bronze silver and gold. We opted for the gold package which meant we got free entry a race card a drink on arrival a 4 course meal and coffee excellent value would highly recommend
Good fun environment with decent value food. It is going to win any awards but you get what you pay for there.
Fabulous experience, great food and run by fantastic young people who really understand how to deliver excellent customer service!
Lovely friendly staff, booths are well kept, neat and tidy. Good evening out for a big group of people and a good selection of beer place could do with a bit of modernisation all in all but it's not too dated.
Good night had by all, we had the silver restaurant deal and it was great value for lovely food. Betting wasn't a problem as a lady came to our table before every race and took our bets and paid any winnings.
Great fun. Nice staff and nice food

We came here to break up a long journey and rather than spending a few hours we were there more than 5. The food is good. But the play spaces were awesome. My kids declared it the best day of the holiday! . I would say it's expensive but worth it for a family day out.
Had a great day out here with our toddler. Loads of farm animals which you can watch and pet, great for a kid learning about the world. The play areas were super impressive, and we went on a sunny Sunday and had plenty of room to run about. We left our boy's cup in the cafe and the kept it for us until we remembered. Dog friendly which means more furry friends to pet! Very clean too. We'll be back for sure.
We came for the day to have some fun at the farm. There wasn't a lot of animals there today on our visit, in the past there have been more. The heritage mill is fascinating and the children love the old farm machinery. The soft play is great for ages up to about 10 and the park has been expanded so there's plenty to do there. We didn't eat on this experience but when we have eaten here before it's been nice and the service was quick. They had some Halloween activities on and the children enjoyed the crafts. Lovely day out for the little ones.
Today was our first visit to this farm and I’m sure it won’t be the last. It was fantastic. So many things to do for children. Lots of play areas. Nature trails around the farm with more interactive play along the way. We didn’t go inside the play barn we ran out of time being outside. Next time we will explore that area too.
We visited for the Halloween pumpkin event. We love Sacrewell, the park is such a good size and the kids love the maze. My children aged 6 and 3 also love the soft play area. The mill is lovely and we enjoyed looking around. There were Halloween decorations up and the kids enjoyed using the little wheelbarrows to wheel around their pumpkins. We ate in the restaurant and the pizza and burger meals were tasty. Plenty of choice. We look forward to our next visit.
An excellent family day out. Took our 2 grandchildren ages 6 and 4 and everything was accessible and appropriate for them. The play areas dotted around the site are excellent and love the fact that many feel natural and organic. Fun to see the animals and get up close to many. Would definitely recommend for a full day out with happy children!
Not quite as much there as expected and could do with a better layout. Very spread out with lots of walking and not the best idea to have a massive children's play area you have to go through the middle of with young children to get to the animals. Very unsafe "Pooh Sticks" bridge with no barrier to stop children falling into the water, if you're encouraged to lean over to look for your stick it needs at least a wire fence. No explanation as to why the tractor rides weren't running, no visible staff to answer questions about the (very few) animals or in the allotment section. Signposting within the site is mediocre. Friendly reception staff though.
Easy stop off for coffee after an early start from the Norfolk coast to Cheshire. I had waited a significant period for a breakfast sandwich and needed to ask where it was (everyone else had their breakfast who had ordered after I had). Other than the delay, food was good, and the coffee welcome after an early start. I can imagine this place is very popular in the summer with a lovely camping field.

A great museum and I particularly enjoyed the Doctor Who exhibition (£5). Very well set out with lots to enjoy. The cafe was great too!
Easily accessible museum and was impressed by a friendly staff who was welcoming and spent time to explain what would be expected in the museum. Full of interactive activities for engagement especially for kids. Worth a visit when you’re in Peterborough.
Short walk from the Mainline railway station and city centre. I visited for the Doctor Who exhibition which was a bargain at £5. I did not see any other exhibits as I was there for one thing only. Staff seemed friendly, there is a cafe and toilet facilities available.
Went to the Dr Who 'Adventures in Time and Space' exhibition on Sunday 26th October. Great exhibition...set out nicely with date information on each item displayed. Very friendly staff! Lovely museum...gift shop and cafe!
We saw everything apart from the Dr Who stuff. This is a brilliant museum. The prison camp, operating theatre, art gallery, social history stuff and other art exhibition. Free entry. Nice looking cafe.
Absolutely fantastic. Unofficial Doctor Who exhibition until 2nd November. It was really good, and only lost a fiver!!
Lovely museum. Went to see the Doctor Who exhibition which was fab! Lovely touch having a Tardis lift. The Jeff Cummins art was an added bonus. I'll come back to see the rest when it's a little cooler 😎
A gem of a museum. We were there for the Dr Who exhibition running until November 2025. It's a mis of props and models from the early and great years of Dr Who. At the same time there was an exhibition of the artwork of Jeff Cummins who also created amazing Who artwork that was used for books and Radio Times covers. It was also special as one of our party, Andrew Donkin, worked with Jeff many years back and that collaboration was on show!
