Visited Maine over the fourth of July week for hiking, camping, Acadia National Park, and Portland.
General tips
When going hiking make sure to do your research! Anything from downloading trail passes, getting park passes, to water and food supply.
In cities like Bar Harbor and Portland (maybe others we didn’t stay long in) they reduce plastic use so try accumulating a tote bag for any shopping that may be done.
Don’t forget to try their food staples like blueberries, woopie pies, and lobster rolls!

Portland
From the web: Portland is a city in the U.S. state of Maine, set on a peninsula extending into Casco Bay. The Old Port waterfront features working fishing wharves and converted warehouses with restaurants and shops. Nearby, the Western Promenade is a public park atop a bluff, offering river and mountain views. Its surrounding district, the West End, is full of Victorian-era homes, including the Victoria Mansion museum.
