Brescia. My living province's capital. Despite it's quite a small city compared to the major Italy's cities, it's still a city whose foundation goes back before even Rome was born, boasting roman, medieval and modern buildings, and it's also world's cultural heritage.

Brescia is easily accessibile by train, en route between Milano and Venezia, and you can easily reach Brescia's historic heart through the subway, taking the closest stop from the train station ("Stazione FS"). The city center Is located between the stops "Vittoria" and "San Faustino". I suggest starting from "Vittoria" stop, since you'll find yourself inside Vittoria square, and from there you can travel by foot through all the main attractions.
From Piazza Vittoria you can reach the other two main plazas, Piazza Loggia and Piazza Duomo and, from this one, you can go straight forward in Via Musei, where you can reach the ruins of what was the heart of the Roman's city and the museum of Santa Giulia, the main museum of the city, and then come back to Piazza Loggia from where you can walk up to Via San Faustino and climb up to the castle which dominates Brescia from above.
