With the newest addition to our family, my wife and I took advantage of the Bank of America Museum days offer and ventured to the latest showcase. It was just so beautifully done and incredibly unique learning about the indigenous origin stories of a First Nations group in British Columbia. The art was superb and story telling very involved and thoughtfully showcased. It's a peaceful museum that regularly has exhibits suitable for the family. We toured the Campbell House while we were at it and love how well they have restored and preserved the history of Spokane and it's architecture. It's certainly worth a visit any day any time of the year and we'll continue to come for years.

We visited earlier in 2025 and the basement of the Campbell House was closed for repair and they were in the middle of redoing one of the main exhibits in the museum. We were offered a rain check to come back for the Campbell House but not the main museum. Word of warning-the rain checks are printed on receipt paper and are heat sensitive. I kept it in the car so we would have it when we returned but after hot Spokane summers, the paper had just turned black. Also, the Campbell House doesn’t open at the same time as the museum so if you want to see both, check the hours ahead of time. We did go back this past weekend and were able to see everything we missed the first time around. They do a great job of showcasing everything.

We took a tour as it was a possible place for our daughter to go to school, and we all loved the place. There's a definite homey atmosphere here and everyone was genuinely friendly and helpful. What we learned about the school, especially when compared to nearby Gonzaga, resulted in my daughter enrolling at Whitworth. The campus is small but roomy, not cramped at all, and it's gorgeous...they really take great care of the grounds. The buildings are all very well kept and comfortable, especially the dorms. The recreation building is especially nice, too. We ate in the common dining hall and the food was very good, as was the selection. As a non-rightwing Christian, I can't stress enough how good Whitworth is. It seems very accepting of everyone, every faith, yet they seem to have a strong sense of their own faith and purpose, and we get the feeling that our daughter will have an excellent 4 years at Whitworth. Also, for prospective students, I suggest doing well in high school to take advantage of the many opportunities at Whitworth. And, speaking as a parent who'll be paying the bills, Whitworth does a superb job in helping with financial aid, especially grants and discounts. We earn too much to get any financial aid, but Whitworth offers more discounts than any other dozen+ schools we looked at, even my own alma mater, Seattle Pacific University.
