September 2024 it's been heavily damaged by the cyclone a few months back. It's not like on the pictures there is a lot of sediment and fallen trees etc. but the council seems to have cleaned the tracks a bit. The water is crystal clear and a beautiful temperature to enjoy a dip and the scenery is simply stunning, as you relax in the running creek. The carpark is small, only enough room for 3-4 cars so we parked in the Cape Trib beach carpark. Trail begins by small sign on the left side of the road and is marked by orange triangles throughout. The entire trail is narrow and many parts are overgrown with spiky palms. Two fallen trees requiring re-route around. First 1km is almost entirely ascending. Short decent and flattened around at beginning of the second km then met with ~50m rock scramble with rope to assist (actually my favourite bit). Last ~1.8km is in the clouds, wet, steep and appears to go on forever. The 3km marker was hidden by a fallen tree for us. Saw leeches at the top but they kept away as we used 40% deet. We started the hike on a blue sunny day and were met with thick cloud at the top with no chance of any kind of view. We also didn’t carry enough water, recommend 2-3L per person, you will sweat all of it out. Overall I would only recommend this hike for those seeking the challenge and wanting a truly ‘authentic’ Daintree rainforest experience and not tourists who are expecting a view at the top.

They really looked after us, were flexible to different abilities, took loads of photo's and had great knowledge of the reef and how to visit it with minimal impact to the ecosystem. We got the chance to swim with two turtles in their natural environment on the reef and Charlie told us how to do so safely. Getting off the boat and spending an hour on the sand was amazing! A smaller boat was much better for the kids, more fun and exciting. Highly recommend Ocean Safari Tours!

We stayed in an ensuite cabin which was nicely appointed with a king bed, small bar fridge, air-conditioning and bathroom. Nice and private. Only minor complaint would be water pressure wasn't the best. Found myself using the showers in the amenities block. Camp kitchen is well great with a large fridge, 2 BBQs, microwave, Toaster and a few pots and pans. Location is great being across the road from the general store, pub, playground and beach access. Staff are all super friendly and helpful. Massive shout out to Stacey who is an absolute gem.

The night of the tour itself was so incredible. Up in Cape Trib for a week, I had gone on quite a few “night walks” myself on the Dubuji boardwalk. I was very pleased by the tour’s approach to the wildlife. They asked us not to shine our lights at them due to them sleeping at night and their sensitive eyes. Self-contained open plan private cabins with one ring gas hob for basic cooking. Nice places to eat locally if wishing to eat out. Clean and well-decorated. Enjoyed the fruits from the farm left for us on arrival and the books to read about the local aboriginal culture, fruit and forests. Plenty of space to sit outside and enjoy the sounds of the forest. Jackie made us very welcome at check in and provided helmets and safety briefing. There were eight riders this morning all with relatively low levels of experience. Once checked in at the office attached to Sand Bar we were driven to the stables less than five minutes away. Paired up with our horses and helped into the saddle by Jackie, Gerry or Ayesha and off we went! A gentle ride through the rain forest to the beach. Plenty of time for photos. Returning same route to stables. Lovely experience, felt very safe and confident. Very well organised, high standards of care for the horses. A great setup for anyone looking for a gentle ride in awesome surroundings.

We had a small group of us that travelled up to Cape Trib for a weekend away. From the moment we got there to the moment we left, the staff were all so friendly and helpful. However, the curry was a little tasteless, it was not that outstanding. Because of others foods are so good so the experiences was balanced.
