I completed my open water certification and from the moment I seen the sign I knew they were family. My biggest fear is being under the water, even though I am a mermaid at heart. There were times I wasn’t sure about “are we supposed to really be in the ocean like this” lol but Maude would reassure and say it will be fine. The skills I learned were not just the practical scuba skills needed to survive but also I am able to apply the underwater lessons to my “life on land”. The whole crew at the shop was so friendly and welcoming- my dive instructor, Poto, was a super funny and personable guy with years of experience doing scuba (and it showed!). Zihuantanejo/Ixtapa have a large variety of beautiful dive sites where you'll never see the same thing twice, would highly recommend any of the classes or experiences Zihuantanejo Dive Center offers!! Side note, I started the course on my birthday and the guys brought along a cupcake and candle for an impromptu celebration on the water 🥺 I just about cried, so sweet! That's the sort of thoughtfulness and care you can expect while visiting, and why I know exactly where I'm headed for any future dives when visiting beautiful Zihua!
