When the server finally came to take our order she was so rude and curt and practically snatched our menus from us so quickly that I didn’t even finish ordering before she walked away. She didn’t even ask for our drink order! When the food finally arrived I had high hopes but was immediately let down. For a place that offers six different types of Benedict’s, you’d think they would nail the prep. Unfortunately the eggs were cooked all the way through, and there was 1 tablespoon MAX of hollandaise sauce. The dish itself was really underwhelming and bland, I had to drown it in hot sauce. The hash browns were fine, but nothing special; just what you’d expect. When I asked how much a side of sausage was, she said about $4. I said ok, let’s add that. Firstly, she didn’t even remember to bring out the side, AND when the check was brought out, it was $7!!!! Four dollars was pushing it for a little side, $7 for what I got was outrageous. No one checked on us a single time after bringing out the food. All in all, I was hoping for a great experience and decided the negative reviews wouldn’t be my experience as I am generally easy to please, optimistic and easy going, but I’m sad to say I was really disappointed. They were craving home cooking style breakfast and weren’t sure this would deliver. Boy did it! We ordered lumpia to start, which seems like more of a lunch/dinner item but man did it hit the spot. My wife had lemon curd pancakes and they were light, fluffy, and packed with flavor! I had chicken and waffles which were fantastic. The chicken was juicy and tender and the waffle was the perfect balance. The true star was my son’s pork belly fried rice. I wish I had ordered that even though my food was already outrageously good. I also want to shout out the service. It was fairly busy but the server was knowledgeable, helpful, kind and food came out quickly. It’s a big place but they have plenty of staff. This is the 2nd time I’ve tried this jack in the box and both times I waited 30+ mins for my food when there was only 1-2 other customers there and both times my burger was not seasoned. The first time I went I spent 45 mins waiting because they gave me the wrong order TWICE (keep in mind the drive through was NOT busy) I’m sure there’s a reason, maybe they’re understaffed or are getting a lot of online orders but MAN this sucked.
