This is also the best West Coast beach in the region as it is untouched compared to the rest. The beach has a 10 minute walk before you arrive from the carpark. It is absolutely worth it though as the beach essentially corners the Manukau Harbour and Tasman Sea entrances. There are lots of walks to be explored as well, such as the Omanwanui Track, Whatipu Caves and Gibbons Track (though I believe the latter is still closed). The only downside is the drive getting there, as after you have passed Huia, you join a relatively narrow gravel road for 15-20 minutes and the drivers are definitely not considerate. Just be vigilant if you are heading there, especially on a weekend or if you are going against the traffic. Otherwise, highly recommend. This beach really has it all!
