The lighthouse was the main attraction of course and it has signs to let you know how far up and how much further you have left as you climbed it. Once you get to the top the views and breeze are nice. The stairs are very narrow so you have to stop and wait or let people go by sometimes. But it’s not a bad hike at all! The rest of the sites are self guided and in old buildings but are maintained. Most have AC which is where you found the most people with it being so hot. There’s plenty of information and artifacts in each part you entered. Unless you’re stopping to read everything, the tour goes by pretty quickly. I highly suggest bringing water with you if you’re going during the summer months.

The event is held once a month to watch the sunset and the full Moon rise. We were rewarded with a beautiful sunset and the full moon rise over the ocean was awesome. Our experience was seriously diminished by the male volunteer that was supposed to be pouring champagne for all the guests but seemed totally focused in looking after two younger women whose glass were always full while we had to ask several times for a second half glass. At the opposite end we wish to commend Tammy as very pleasant and helpful with information about the lighthouse and in passing food around.

The actual tour also seemed to be lacking the demonstrations i thought we would see- we got shown a few pieces of leather, played some music, got a very very basic blacksmith demonstration (where some of the equipment was broken, so not functioning properly). You check in at the gift shop and during the hot summer that’s about the only room that has AC. They sell waters there but I recommend bringing your own water bottle because it gets hot. The oldest house Museum was great experience with knowledgeable staff. I’ve been by this house multiple times but never went in to explore. Glad I decided to because it was a great experience. The tour was not long either so it won’t mess up any other plans you have for the day either. Bring water with you as certain parts of the house can be warm due to amount of people or time of day but as I said the tour is not too long. Would recommend this place for families or couples.

As a Catholic, it felt like stepping into a place soaked in prayer and history. The chapel is small but so reverent, and you can almost feel the faith of the countless people who have come here over the centuries. The grounds are gorgeous and well kept with Spanish moss hanging over the paths, quiet gardens, and little spots perfect for reflection or saying a rosary. It is hard to believe this is the oldest Marian shrine in the United States, but once you are there, you understand why pilgrims have been coming for hundreds of years. We lit candles, prayed for our family, and left feeling incredibly peaceful. Whether you are Catholic or not, it is worth visiting for the history alone, but if you are Catholic it is truly a grace filled stop with friendly staff. Five stars without question.

Although we live near St. Augustine, we had never been to an event there. Our Daughter graduated from Flagler College there in the City.Overall this is a beautiful place. A stunning setting with beautiful gardens and historic buildings which are well maintained. Value: Expensive for what you get. The building is beautiful and historic. So are all the buildings around it. But to spend $400-$500/night for this hotel is high. This was the most charming, quiet, and magical bed and breakfast I have stayed at. The innkeepers were kind and hard working, the amenities were abundant, the food delicious, and the rooms comfortable and lovingly decorated with history. Just minutes from downtown St Augustine, you can pack your itinerary with museums and outdoor adventures, or you can stay local and enjoy the sounds of nature with a fresh cup of tea. The the attention to detail and top notch hospitality made our weekend! The staff was so fun to chat with and could not have been more helpful. We stayed in the balcony room. The room was very clean and cozy and the balcony was perfect for coffee in the morning or wine in the evening. The location is perfect, walking distance to everything but on a pretty, quiet street. All sorts of little treats like the bikes being available to guests, cream sherry, delicious evening desserts (i think homemade!), and a good balance of grab and go breakfast or sit down breakfast options. We will definitely make this an annual weekend getaway spot.

There is always something to eat available ( fruit, cookies, breakfast, happy hour, and dessert time). The staff as well as the other guests are so thoughtful and friendly. The location is walkable to the Oldest House which is a hop on hop off trolly pickup ( highly recommend the trolly too). The room was comfy and cozy. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because the clawfoot tub is impossible to get in or out of and the shower curtain is always under foot because it’s to long. The shower did have great water pressure and we never ran out of hot water. We were in the Courtyard room. I hear Marie’s room is just as great as the courtyard room, but has a walk-in shower with a hand held shower nozzle. We will book that room next time. The inn is very quiet and free parking is just across the street. We parked our car and used the hop on hop off trolly the entire visit. I highly recommend this inn.

I provided video and photos of the issue and was completely ignored. So just a warning to anyone who sees this place and thinks it’s cute. SURE, it might be, but bad customer service outweighs the hell out of that.

Would I host an event here in the pool/patio area? Absolutely (if ownership remedied the issues below). CONS: There doesn't appear to be any human staff on site. Our TV remote didn't work, asked multiple times for replacement, told it was being delivered, never was, and unable to watch TV at night. Pool area gate latch is broken, so anyone can walk in off the street and enter the pool area. I had to stock their coffee/tea bar with supplies in the morning because the staff had not done that.

We stayed in a room on the second floor. It was clean, comfortable and lovely. Great water pressure and nice hot water too. Homemade cookies, yum. We definitely would recommend this bed and breakfast, and cannot wait to come back to dt Augustine.

The have a ton of different packages available and don't require you to also book a room. Many of the places we looked at required a stay of at least 2 nights to elope there. If we hadn't already had the airbnb booked and passed the cancellation period, we would have gone that route. Jonathan was so accommodating and even threw in a small cake (which wasn't included in the package we picked). They decorated the area so perfectly. It was so intimate and special. Second time here needs some improvement. It is an old property which is really pretty. We wouldn’t recommend the upstairs front terrace room. The serenity room is upstairs so quite a steep walk up stairs if you have issues. The traffic especially at night is very busy and loud. Call the owner Kate to get a quiet room.
