The atmosphere here was fantastic: friendlier, cosier, and overall much more inviting. I also liked that the lighting was lower, which gave the diner a calmer feel and made the atmosphere much less harsh. The food did take a little longer to arrive than I was used to though. However, the place had a great vibe, with everyone clearly enjoying themselves. One small difference I noticed compared to Waterside was the water – we were given two medium glasses of water rather than the usual pitcher. Not a big deal though, and I’ll simply ask for a pitcher next time. Now for the food: the wings are without a doubt, the best in Norwich. They’re huge, packed with flavour, and the sauce options are unique in my opinion. I especially like the peanut butter-based sauce which I haven't found anywhere else. I had a starter, main and dessert too – every dish was impeccable, with portions that were generous and filling compared to many other local spots. I also appreciate the wet wipes provided for cleaning my hands, before heading to the ladies' room to wash up properly. Even though Mousehold is a longer drive for me than Waterside, I’ll be choosing this branch from now on. This has clearly changed, the food was ok, the 2 lonely pieces of processed cheese on a burger was upsetting as were the tiny, end of the bag fries. The Caesar Salad with Halloumi was small but the courgette fries were great. We ordered cocktails, I asked for the long island iced Tea, (to share or not does not, it seem mean 2 sizes) the server did not let me know that this was only in sharing size and a bowl of iced tea arrived, I said that I was expecting a normal sized one and was told , that's the only size we do. We arrived around 11:00 and parked in the small car park with no issues. There was a beautiful classic American car parked outside. On entering, we were greeted warmly and asked whether we wanted to sit inside or outside? We chose outside despite the inside of the restaurant having some very cool looking American/Rock and Roll Memorabilia. This turned out to be a great move as the view from the outside terrace is amazing. A very friendly waitress took our order (1 large American and 1 small American breakfast ). We sat back and enjoyed the views and the conversations form other guests, a couple of who were obviously in a rock & roll band that had played last night. It was a great, friendly, and chilled vibe. When the food arrived, it was great, the sausage patties tasted like they had been charcoal grilled and were worth the price of entry on their own, the rest of the meal didn't disappoint in either quality or quantity, we paid the bill which came to a remarkably reasonable £19 (we added a 22% tip as the service was excellent). We will be going back. A high thank you to all the staff at Zak's, they run a remarkably great restaurant and do it well.

The owner was so helpful when making the arrangements and the room was set out beautifully. we were able to set up balloons and decorations so the room looked beautiful. we all ordered food some savoury some sweet that all arrived at roughly the same time. It was all very nice and generous portions, I had the salmon form the specials list which was amazing and the Mummy to be had Bang Bang Chicken that she thoroughly enjoyed. The banana waffles looked amazing I will have that next time. We had the booking from 12pm to 3 pm as they had another booking at 3pm, which flew by we could have done with an extra 30 minutes but staff were very patient with us while we said our goodbyes. We were allowed to take a celebration cake but we were so full from our food that everyone took a slice home. Everyone has commented how much they enjoyed the event and especially the food. I had no idea how much it would cost and was more than happy with the cost of everything at the end, It was worth every penny. Apparently Hugh Jackman is a regular visitor. Service The waitress was simply excellent, very friendly and seems to enjoy her work, she’s a real credit to the establishment. Food Simply excellent and much bigger portions than expected. Very delicious and we all scoffed the lot down. Cost came to £53, no service fee. So we added on £7. As a very small recognition of the excellent service. Overall I was extremely surprised, as it was not my first choice but others wanted to go, I am sure we will return. Score 10/10

Our server Sophia was lovely and couldn't ask for a better host. Super friendly and knew the menu inside and out when I had questions. For starters I had the BBQ wings and my partner had the blooming onion, both were done perfectly. For mains I had the Captain America cheeseburger and my partner had the dirty rooster chicken burger with cheese. Both were amazing and really put you in a good place, full but not bloated. The quality was excellent and you could tell that everything was made fresh - the fries were especially good in my opinion. All of this was reasonably priced considering we had the above and two drinks each and a side as well. Would highly recommend visiting and whilst a lot of other reviews on here complain about it "not being what it used to be" etc. I think with a few more memorabilia items on the walls and the music a little louder it's a great place to spend the evening. We will definitely be coming back to visit in the future.

The food service before the movie was absolutely fine and went really smoothly, even when scanning our tickets. I would give this a 2 star but hoping a 1 star might get some more attention. There was a lady working at the ticket stand when we left the movie and I have had previous experiences with her where she has been obnoxious and patronising. She is always shouting at people and my boyfriend even overheard her complaining loudly about customers to other customers. We came out of the movie ready to throw our food in the bin. Firstly, we were debating what to throw away and she just watched us do it which was very uncomfortable. Then she proceeded to tell us that the tango ice blast cup we had was refillable which we didn’t ask for. We went to go and fill it back up, but she followed us over and told us off ridiculously loudly and rudely as if both of us must’ve misheard her and it was in fact not refillable. This was just so embarrassing for us and definitely not how we wanted to end our positive experience. I really hope this gets some attention because I have always had awful experiences with her. Unfortunately, I do not have a name but hope to find out soon, she had a very short hair cut, a loud screechy voice and glasses I think. The venue itself was clean, tidy and there were a few other guests in but not overly busy for a Monday evening. It’s located quite central in Norwich and I would say easy to get to from wherever you are in the city. The wait staff were very nice and pleasant and quick to take our drinks and food order. We didn’t feel like we were waiting overly long to be served. The food was alright, perhaps it was the choices I made on the night but I wasn’t bowled over by it. The starter was pork belly which was nice but the accompaniment of cucumber was rather watery, I understand cucumber is a water heavy vegetable but some of it could have been drained from the plate before it was served because of that it washed away the taste of the hoisin sauce. Main was the gammon grill which was rather filling with gammon steak, two sausages, eggs onion rings and chips. It was a decent portion size so I would recommend and good value for money. The dessert was the best dish of them all sticky toffee pudding with lots of toffee sauce! It was delicious and definitely recommended and worth waiting for. The menu was reasonably priced and the atmosphere was nice. They do a good range of different food options on the menu. It was a pleasant evening and nothing overly wrong with the food but I personally wouldn’t rush to go back to eat there again.

I arrived early and there was not problem getting a quick drink at the bar to wait for the rest of the party to arrive. We were seated quickly for an evening meal for 4 with no reservation. Further to this we had a 50% discount off main meals due to downloading their app. It was applied with no issues. Will definitely be going back and would recommend this resteraunt. Update (Aug 2018) - revisited recently with a Groupon. The waitress was brilliant but there was an issue with the freshness of my food. The waitress did apologise and refunded that portion of the meal and my drink. Felt a bit awkward that it was left for the waitress to deal with and the manager didn't come over the address the problem. Both burgers ordered were quite dry and the prices have gone up. I doubt we will visit again which is a shame since it has been so good in the past.

It didn't take long at all for someone to come and take us to our table, the staff were polite and very good with our four year old and interacted with him and help him with his order. We had 2 of there thick shakes, a peanut butter and oreo and the child had a banana milk shake all of which taste fantastic, they use the actual items to flavour them. Obviously we had burgers/hotdogs they are very nice and tasty the buns are crisp enough an not too dry the burgers the same and not dripping with grease or over cookedplus the typical American sausage you can really cook wrong. Good selection of sides and types of chips, plus a variety of burgers to cater to all. They do have other items on the menu other than burgers, incase you don't fancy a burger at an American diner. The whole thing is a lovely snapshot of an era past which you get a taste of being in there with the look and atmosphere/music. Overall I've scored a 4 due to the price and that if you want fries or a side you have to plate up or something so bumps the price up more. Anyway generally good experience and quality food.

So I ordered the blue cheese burger and chips meal to eat in the restaurant with a side of wings which I asked to put into a box that I could take with me.
