I've walked by it a few times but never really paid attention. Most of these churches are usually closed. But on this day I wandered onto the grounds and was pleasantly surprised to find its side door was unlocked with docents inside! I asked and was allowed to take video and pictures. It's as if I could smell centuries past! I learned that this church was originally built in the mid 1300's! That is way before my country was even discovered! What history and stories this place holds! A gentleman gave me some historical papers about the Church that I was able to read over later. But basically this is a true Mediaeval Gem with loads of history. One of the docents played some music on the organ so we could hear how amazing it permeated through the whole church. And also they invited me to take part in the ringing of the tower bell. There are 5 bells I believe, but the city only allows one to be rung. I was handed a paper with the prayer on it, and the four of us joined in unison while the main gentleman rang the bell appropriately timed. What a wonderful opportunity and memory I won't forget! Sometimes you just have to explore and go with your gut! It you are able to visit this historical gem, I highly recommend it. The docents that were freely donating their time were truly passionate about sharing this place with me, and I hope you will be able to experience it as well one day!

At £7 each, it was worth every penny. Our guide Finn was knowledgeable and very entertaining, keeping the whole group engaged throughout the tour. I recently held a big birthday celebration there and the whole event was easy to organise from start to finish. Booking was done in a matter of minutes, Matt and his team.seamlessly organised the room, the food and the music. My queries on the build up to the event were always answered immediately, even when he was on holiday! Nothing was too much trouble. On the day my family were easily able to get in to put up decorations and make sure all was in place. The room was beautifully set out, the bar staff were efficient and friendly, the musician was set up snd ready to go well in advance. Andy Hudspith and his catering team are the best in the business offering a wide choice of mouth watering menus for every occasion which are professionally prepared and efficiently served, nothing is too much trouble for this kind and friendly team. At the end of the evening a band of good, reliable staff carefully took my gifts and locked them safely away for me to collect in my car the next day. A fantastic time was had by all. Thank you, Matt, Andy and all the staff for making my birthday celebration a really happy and memorable event.
