I’ve visited this zoo since I was a young child. They have a plethora of inside gardens & a beautiful indoor rainforest exhibit. The outside is teeming with creatures from all over the world. Don’t forget to check out the Japanese Garden too. They have made a number of renovations in recent years & that has really spruced up the experience. Chief of these is the Sea Lion area where they put on daily shows. It’s pretty state of the art now. Did I mention it’s entirely free to the public. This past week, I went to Indians Mound Park in St. Paul and was not disappointed. The park offers a unique view of the river and the city behind it - and it also boasts 6 prehistoric Indian burial mounds. It's pretty sweet. I'd like to go back in the spring or summer because there was still quite a bit of snow on the ground and I wasn't able to explore the park as much as I would've like. Overall, it looks well-kept and seems like I fun place to take in. As I drove down the hill, I was able to capture several other photos, and it brought pure joy to my heart to see that I wasn't the only one enjoying mother nature's work of art that evening.

There are also many amenities available for all types of activities. They have barbecue grills, picnic tables, tons of green space to fly a kite or a game of frisbee. There is a well maintained playground for the kids too. The bike/walking trail runs through here. You can get just about anywhere in the metro on that trail. The paddleboats take off from here on wonderful river rides. They have midday rides that anyone can afford. As well as beautiful sunset rides for a romantic evening. We are all very lucky to have such a nice place right in the middle of our city.

Amazing views of the river and the hidden falls are incredible. The path up to the falls is lined with trees, flowers, and old stones. It feels like you're walking through a fantasy realm to find a hidden treasure. There are also lots of picnic tables and fields to play with friends. In particular the outdoor grill picnic area seemed super nice (plus the bathrooms nearby were quite well-maintained!) The trails are great to walk your dog—however, these are primarily dirt trails and can get rocky up near the falls so keep this in mind if you have mobility limitations. Overall amazing park and I hope to visit again soon to enjoy the falls in the other seasons! I highly recommend stopping by if you're out for some fresh air and some beautiful sights.
