The resort was very beautiful and the staff was super friendly and helpful. However what was really surprising was the condition of the rooms and some basic necessities that were lacking. Such as a hairdyer, slippers and a bathrobe were all missing. Obviously there is no guarantee for these items to be in a hotel room but are very common and especially for a 5 star hotel i would have expected them to be found in the room. In addition to the lack of equipment in the room we encountered some problems with the information supplied by the hotel. For example there was no way to know what was being served for breakfast beforehand on the website which could pose challenges for people with special diets such as vegans. But fear not since the breakfast buffet was very satisfying and filled with all kinds of options for everyone. But the restaurants were a different case, they had much fewer vegetarian options. But again the staff was very helpful and tried to come up with solutions for us. Then another thing we found very surprising was the fact that the pool was only open from 9am to 5pm which i find very odd. There was no opportunity for a morning swim in the pool and it closed quite early aswell. In addition to that there was a rule stating that no food was allowed by the pool which also was confusing since we are paying for a 5 star hotel vacation and are told like kids to go and eat elsewhere. Obviously we still respected the wishes off the staff and took our snacks elsewhere but were left wishing for an explanation as to why the food was banned from the pool. On our last day there was some sort of stage that some of the workers were putting up all day. We were excited as we thought there was gona be some music playing in the evening as the sun was setting and people came to eat dinner. But we were wrong, they played some music briefly and then stopped for the whole evening atleast until we left at about 8pm (so it’s possible they started later). But i just found it curious that there was no information about any music or an artist coming to play at all, it’s like they didn’t want anyone to know? All in all we enjoyed our stay but were sort of let down by the 5 star rating. I definately consider it a good hotel and resort but just not quite that 5 star level. The staff was super friendly and helpful but it felt like so many of our problems and questions could have been avoided with proper information given on the website or upon our arrival.

They are very polite and make you feel very welcome and at home. The rooms are very spacious and come with balconies. However the hotel is aging, the room smelt musky, dated rooms, TV didn’t work (disclosure I did not let the hotel know otherwise I’m sure they would of fixed it) mould in grout in the bathroom, pool doesn’t get any sun and is aging and grounds are worn out and unkept. Feels a bit like the Hilton brand (or owner) doesn’t prioritise this hotel much given the other Hilton is just a 20 min boat ride away in Ilot Maitre and unlike this place, is quite exceptional. Many restaurants, cafes and bars around but no supermarkets, just one small general store walking distance. You can easily walk to both Casinos from here. Around a 10 min drive from Port Moselle in midday traffic. I didn’t eat any of the food at the hotel. Honest option, head straight for an over water bungalow at Hilton Ilot Maître and skip this place, better to do a day trip back to this part of Noumea rather than stay here.

A unique proposition as all rooms come with full kitchen facilities and a washing machine, but shower remains inside the bath tub like the 1980s and internet speed is 20-years behind, bad for streaming reels or videos. Breakfast comes at a hefty XPF 3,900 and it is certainly not good enough if you stay more than 2-days due no change in any item throughout our one week stay and no ala-minute options.

On first appearance, lobby is nice and modern, however really hot and humid as doors are wide open. Staff at the desk were friendly, however some employees are rude. As a matter of fact, the man working the desk on 28 April at 6:30 PM did not know what time the pool closed when we called down and asked. I feel like that's something you should know if you work at the hotel. He was also quite rude about it. The rooms are modern and nice looking, but furniture is cheap and the bed is uncomfortably hard. A used towel was right outside my balcony as evident in the photos, so not sure what cleanup was done beforehand. My room was plagued with moths despite the balcony doors being closed. Out of my 2 night stay, I had 8 moths total. My guess is that they were coming from the ventilation. My friend had ants in her room. Cockroach was in the middle of the hallway. After that, decided not to eat at the on site restaurant. Plus the prices for food and drinks are absurd. The rooms do have a kitchen which is useful as well as means to make coffee or tea. The beach is a nice time to either relax or swim. The outdoor pool was much colder than expected and it wasn't particularly big or deep. The indoor spa I will say is the hotel's highlight. It's beautiful and has many amenities to include a hot and wet sauna, though the spa is also not that warm. Breakfast is not a buffet despite what some other reviews say. It's a la carte and absolutely not worth it. The hotel is in walking distance to some stores and restaurants which was convenient. Overall, this hotel is aging but makes every attempt to appear modern. Certainly not worth what they are charging so much in tourist off-season. It's only true redeeming quality is the spa. I would not recommend anyone to stay here and I wouldn't again.

Chateau Royal Hotel had lots of good amenities such as a spa, a pool and a shortcut to the beach. I captured a lot of pretty sunset photos there and there's a lot to do in Noumea since it's the capital city. I occasionally went to the beach after swimming in their amazing pool. Their hotel rooms are so spacious! With a lot of clothes hangers, seating areas and a big kitchen. It was like a mini apartment! The hotel staff were also really nice. I had to get up early to catch my flight back to Australia and I returned my room key with no problems. The only downside to this hotel is that it's a little expensive but I think it's fully worth the price. Would recommend!

Central, quiet with a tiny gym and pool set around a well designed and cozy deck where it’s nice to sit and read. We were able to park free of charge in public parking right opposite the hotel. Staff are kind and helpful. We only had their buffet breakfast on Mother’s Day for hotel guests which was pricey and ok. To be fair, they had to re-open for the full Mother’s Day brunch thirty minutes later, so I can understand why we didn’t get the best experience and do appreciate their not leaving their guests hungry. (The hotel’s Sunday brunch is popular in Noumea so you should book into one of the two seatings—starting as early as 6:30 AM!) If you want to save costs, there is an Asian supermarket (Oceana) selling decent salads, etc. and an excellent bakery (L’Atelier Gourmand) selling made to order sandwiches steps from the hotel. The rooms are very clean. They are a bit dark and so small that the air conditioner blows directly on you in bed—we had to move our pillows to the foot of the bed to sleep! Also, we didn’t like that the three cleaning carts were always parked around our room (110). WIFI is very fast. All in all, we would stay here again if we returned to Noumea.

I've never seen a hotel anywhere more closer to the beach than this! A great restaurant is directly downstairs (breakfast is there too), plus a whole street of amazing restaurants as well along the beach. Short walk to a supermarket as the rooms have very minimal supplies. My only issue was the fridge was turned off on arrival which took 2 days to come up to proper cold temperature for my groceries. Late night security, main doors are locked at reception, but staff open up for you. Receptionist is 24/7 which is great. Vending machine in reception is well stocked. Ignore the other comments online about minor nonsense such as shower seals being mouldy etc. It was so minor it was laughable and nothing to ever worry about in an environment like Noumea. I believe it's a very good hotel, great location and service. Everything I needed for a week away. I'll probably be back one day. Thank you.

Dans d'autres chambres que nous avions, on se retrouvait avec les draps tachés et il restait parfois des cheveux sur les draps. Certes le prix est convenable et l'accueil était au début chaleureux mais après un certains temps c'est malheureux de ne pas prendre en compte nos avis et d'entendre " avec vous il y a toujours un truc, c'est pas la peine de revenir" à l'accueil, alors qu'à notre première nuit ils nous donnait une feuille pour donner nos remarques "n'hésiter pas à dire vos remarques ça nous aide". Apparemment le fait de changer de chambre lorsque la clim ne marchait pas alors que nous étions en été, et changer de chambre parce qu'on ne voulait pas de celle où la moisissure était présente alors que mon amie avait de l'asthme, faisait de nous des clients qui se plaignaient pour rien. On espère que ces soucis de chambres seront réglés pour les futures client(es) car les chambres restent abordables et la cuisine à disposition est pratique.
