Bush Presidential Center! We visited on Memorial Day. There's a parking lot right across the street - parking was easy & cost $10.00 (if I'm not mistaking). Right on the campus of SMU, the center is beautifully surrounded. The center has a bunch of discounts for entry, I did not fit any of those criteria so my admission was $26. Everything was very informative & we enjoyed all of the interactive elements. I loved the decision-making simulator, it really puts things into perspective. It’s mostly a standard museum exhibit wise but there are a few things that really make it stand out. First, it has an in depth explanation of some of his more controversial policies such as No Child Left Behind and the Iraq War, as well as highlighting some of his major successes like PEPFAR and protecting over 3M acres of wetlands. Obviously there was a bit of a slant in terms of how things were presented but it was still informative in nature. Second, it has a replica of the Oval Office, you do have to pay for a photo op but I think it’s worth it. There is also a Rose Garden replica outside which is where George and Laura will be buried someday. Third, there is a piece of metal from the Twin Towers on display which you can actually touch. That whole section was emotionally moving, you got to hear him say his famous “and those people who knocked the towers down will hear from all of us very soon” quote while you are looking at the images of what happened that day. And fourth, I think the best part of the museum is the Decision Points theater, which is an interactive game you can play where you choose what to do during several key moments of the Bush administration. You get policy advice from “experts” and see breaking news before making a final decision, and then you get to see Bush explain why he did what he actually did. Since I was the only one in the theater, I got to pick all three scenarios I did, and my decision was the “final one” (normally if more people play it’s whatever the group collectively decides). This place is so big and there’s so much to do. They have an ice rink at the lower level, which has some restaurants. The 2nd-4th floor has the shops and other restaurants as well. I like how their food court is not overly busy with food choices and there are other eating options in other parts of the mall. It looks like they’re going to open soon with the Netflix experience, so I can’t wait for that. Overall, a really nice place to check out. Plus, they do have some Haagen-Dazs if you wanna walk around and eat ice cream.

They were moved here from all over the Dallas area and rebuilt on the site of the original spring that fed Dallas its water in the early days. No events were being held and there was no staff or security in the park. Most buildings have signs giving you a very brief insight into their history but that's all. Everything was locked. In a few cases you can peer into a window. The fountain was running which was nice. I love history and you can see the care and passion that went into securing these buildings and creating this park. However, that now seems to be missing. Signs telling you to be careful when visiting the petting zoo hang on rotten posts. Buildings have signs saying they are being repaired that themselves now need repair. It gives ghost town vibes or being on an abandoned movie set. If you have time I think this is still worth a visit if only to show the powers that be that the history is important and should be preserved better than it is now.

The kids had so much fun. Since I do have a special needs daughter, I look out for our community. Sea Life Grapevine is wheelchair friendly. Everything is open inside for all to see. The peak through tunnels are the only issue inside, as the child has to be removed from their chair if possible to look through, but you can the fish without doing the peek bubble. Handicap bathroom is large, but only has a changing table for babies. I added the $7 tour behind the scenes. Our tour guide was amazing and what we saw was worth the price; however I wouldn't buy it again it. Tickets were less on their website compared to Groupon. We had 3 adults, 3 kids, 1yr old who was free. I ONLY paid $179 and this included behind the scenes. It was a fun-filled day with my kids.
