This is a short drive outside the Medina walls and very much worth it. The dedication of the artists is realized here and you can see them making incredible art in every step of the process. Travelling with a two children for 3 weeks in Morocco we have looked to mix it up and experience more than the usual tourist attractions. The bookbinding workshop exceeded our expectations and is one of the top highlights of our trip to not only Fès but Morocco so far. With an apprehensive 9 year old boy who initially thought the workshop would be too hard and a 10 year old girl who was recovering from a 24 hour fever they soon forgot their woes, all because of Hamza’s teaching style. Hamza’s excellent English, clear step by step instructions, patience and great sense of humour made the class fun. We all learnt so much about the traditional craft and history of bookbinding and before we knew it, 4 hours had passed and we all had achieved our goal. For a very traditional Moroccan memory with a take home keepsake we highly recommend Craft Draft which comes complete with Hamza’s passionate storytelling. The number one thing to do in Fès!
