I usually mix them so that the flavors combine, but I like seeing the separate layers. They also sell reusable glass cups, which is great if you get tea often (which I do). The space is a great place to do get work done with a big window in the front of the shop to let in natural light. Lastly the workers there are so amazing! The owner is so kind and personable. She makes an effort to get to know the people who frequent her shop and even remembers my go-to order! This is a small local business that consistently has good quality boba tea. It's like a creme soda made with Ginger ale, tropical island mix, boba and topped with sea salt creme. So refreshing! The taste of the ginger ale with the creme was a new flavor for me and I was shocked at the delicious combo. We also ordered the Hyper mango. The mango flavor was good and not overly sweet. I just wished the lid was better because stirring was not possible and I would get a lot of coconut creme at the bottom. Not until halfway was I able to really mix it and then it was phenomenal. I did not know it was a fusion place, only that they had bubble tea and elotes and mangonadas which I know are two very different traditional ethnic foods. I had been craving an elote or esquite and I really wanted to try their mangonadas(mango and spicy sauce smoothie). On first impressions, both looked SO good. However, the elote dish was super small for the price and it was so weird tasting. I think it was not the traditional mexican mayo or even american mayo and that changed the flavor so much. It was one of the worst elotes I have ever tried, and I have had a lot. I would not recommend this at all. The mangonada, was okay but not great. There was an odd chemical taste to it. I am not sure if this came from a flavor syrup that had gone bad or if maybe the ice or mangos used were not clean? I am not sure but it was hard to finish, so I had about half and then had to toss it. I will say the drink was well priced if they used fresh mangoes, unfortunately I didn't see how they prepared it because there was a lot of things in the way. Another thing I forgot, was they seem to be very stingy with their ingredients. The service was subpar, if that. I asked the cashier a few questions and she did not seem happy to answer them. When I asked for something like a lid or something, she didn't say anything she just walked away and came back and handed it to me. I would not recommend to my friends or would go back again. But I could tell that there has been real effort in changing and making it original. All the walls have been upgraded and make a awesome matching gray and black design. The atmosphere has been highly updated to be comfortable and all the tables are new. There is a totally "nerdy" but not "too nerdy" design. Between having various Disney characters made of melty beads on the wall, to having a huge tower of board games for people to play, to having a big screen with "Top 40" playing and evening having those cool lights that blink along with the music. I could tell, that these were my people. And I haven't even touched the actual Bubble Tea. First thing you need to know is that you will be greeted by the owner/manager... I think his name is Ronald. He's very friendly, and knowledgeable. Literally he's an expert at his trade, and has no problem making sure that you have all your questions answered. They have several types of tea, and can even do Italian sodas, and coffee. There are 2 dozen flavors and selections to make. Over a dozen toppings to choose from. Believe me this THE Bubble Tea spot and you will be happy that you've tried it.
