After reading glowing reviews, we decide to stay at this hotel when visiting our son. The location is close to the highway for easy access and right on a strip with plenty of stores and restaurants, whatever you might need. What you have read about a nice large breakfast and happy hour being included is spot on. But the heroes of this story are the staff members. No competition, hands down! Their kindness, patience, and service stands way out among others! They made sure we were happy with our room selection (after requesting a room change) and followed up with us whenever we saw them. A huge shout out to Kristi, Brittany, and Anonda at the front desk for going out of their way to ensure we were happy! Also, all of the dining room staff was amazing! Always polite and kind with impeccable guest service. Finally, housekeeping will visit your room daily for a "refresh" which no longer exists at most hotels and is so appreciated! This place was not what I was expecting for a Microtel. The girl at the desk was not interested in being there. The lobby was dirty, trash down the hall. Trust me I would have left and stayed elsewhere but this booking was prepaid online and the hassle wasn't worth it that late at night. I was traveling and needed a place to get rest and a shower before continuing my journey. I limited what I brought inside the hotel as to not have any tag alongs when I left. When leaving 530am breakfast was already set up. Thinking we'll hopefully the coffee would be safe to drink....it's coffee...... the cups were set up on a tray that was filthy, so that was a pass as well. NEVER AGAIN!

The hotel itself is pretty nice and right off the highway. Room was clean, lobby was decent size, bar was kinda small but at least it had a bar, pool was a little small but worked for a few kids. The staff however were fantastic! Especially with a few soccer teams staying there; very polite, accommodating and attentive. Props to whoever was working that weekend. The only minor complaint I would have is that the breakfast selection was so-so. I’ve seen more at other Marriotts but it was fine for hungry boys. Really glad we did! First the people working here are awesome. Helpful, kind and informative. We walked the entire area, road the big train and even jumped on the little train for a ride. Little train isn't always available to ride but apparently we came on the right day...throws you back to feeling like a kid for a few minutes! The grounds are kept up well, the walk is easy and relaxing and the big train is a nice relaxing ride around the park. Sit is the right place near one of the staff and they'll fill you in on the history and anything else you would want to know about. The park is full of history. I had no idea about the industrial impact Dayton had on the country at one time. Each stop at a new building is rich with information and there are plenty of cool things to look at. Wright brothers Museum was just as good as the rest of the park. Much larger than expected and lots of details about the Wright brother and their first flights. Overall it was neat to be thrown back in time and see where innovation has brought us. Even if you're not a big fan of history, it's worth the visit to check out some cool things on a relaxing walk around the park.

I even called extended stay on 10/6/25 to make sure everything was in order. I was told all was well. When I made the drive from Cleveland to Dayton Friday night and got there a little after 1am Saturday morning, I was told by Lily (shift manager) that they were completely booked. She placed the blame on tickets at work(TAW), saying they overbook a lot and because TAW didn't provide them with my contact info, no one reached out to me to let me know... even though I called the hotel the previous Monday to check on the reservation. Lily claimed she'd started the process of a refund that I have yet to see or receive. I will admit, Lily found a room at Woodspring Suites, but it was more expensive and without the refund from extended stay, I spent money I didn't have instead of sleeping in the car almost 4hrs away from home. I honestly believe no overbooking happened & my room was given to others who were willing to pay more money, but I can't prove it. Long story short... I was VERY UNHAPPY with how expended stay handled things.

I booked this room at around 5pm. We chose this hotel because we are a family of 5, with 3 kids between 10 and 13 and needed the extra space. When we arrived at the hotel late at night we were informed we didn’t have a room because they were overbooked. The explanation that was given was that the booking system and 3rd party bookings don’t communicate. That’s interesting because I was also informed we were charged a NO SHOW fee. Thankfully we found the Marriott down the street that had much nicer facilities and better customer service for a very similar price.

However, there was no maintenance on duty when needed due to a clogged toilet. There was also no soap other than a small shampoo & one bar soap. With this being an Extended Stay you would think pots, pans, silverware and soap for kitchen items would be provided but the cabinets were bare. There was a full refrigerator which was very nice. At this point the only good thing is it is pet friendly and close to a lot of different restaurants and other things. Would not recommend and probably won't ever be back.

I travel all over this country for work so that says something. Room service is practically nonexistent. The whole facility is dirty. They have "garbage rooms" for guests to drop their bags of garbage on each floor that get emptied so rarely that most days you can barely open the door. It makes the corridors of all three floors smell like hot garbage. If you stay here longer than 6 weeks, you can be guaranteed to be charged no less than 3 different rates. Dogs barking in the adjacent rooms all hours of the night. Showers and sinks that dont drain, cook tops that dont work, AC units that pump more humidity into the room. The ONLY thing they have going for them is location. Spend the extra to stay somewhere else.
