Setting up took about 10-15 minutes out of our event time which we spent $7K on and we really would have appreciated the event being set-up as promised by Amanda ahead of the event. Being a painfully type A bride, I knew this was never communicated and had even checked my prior emails but it was never mentioned. Lastly, we got the tteokbokki (very thick, chewy, mozzarella stick-sized noodles) which was in a fantastic sauce but odd general texture. Uncommon to have an Asian dish with cheese, but overall good flavor. We asked to see the dessert menu and instead we’re brought the check which was an odd way to end the meal. Service staff is top notch. Our group of four felt that the food wasn’t quite up to par tho. Could be because it’s early season and the kitchen may be getting its stride. Portions are generous. For my entrée I tried the miso glazed steelhead salmon with black rice. It was fine and tasted like a normal salmon bowl with a light teriyaki glaze but nothing memorable or worth coming back for. Considering the price point I expected something that felt a bit more special or unique. Everyone around us was ordering cocktails and big fun drinks which honestly looked like the main draw here. We do not drink so maybe that is the real hook of the place and why people rave about it. If you are looking for a lively bar and cocktail scene maybe it is great. But for a nice sit-down dinner it just was not it for us. The staff was wonderful but overall it is not a spot we would return to for food.

It’s usually really busy and it has limited seating, so be sure to make a reservation for a table or seating online before going. The atmosphere is very chill and relaxing, with a darker ambiance after sunset. When the weather is warmer, they open up large sliding doors to the outside patio area for additional seating with a great view of the mountains to the west. The mixed drinks are amazing and they have a great selection of liquors. Prices are a little higher, but you are paying for the experience as much as anything else. We booked through Chase’s “The Edit,” and she thoroughly explained our hotel credits and presented some delicious macarons and sparkling wine. The Le Labo amenities are a wonderful touch. Very cute aesthetic, feeling nostalgic rather than dated. Great water pressure. Only mild disappointment were the bath towels, nice size but rough and not terribly absorbent. Despite being so near the pool and outdoor walkways, we never noticed any noise or neighbors. Poolside service was attentive and friendly, without being disruptive. Food was delicious as was the dinner service. Bar and wait staff were top-notch, especially Lisette. All in all, the quiet and relaxing day we needed after a jam-packed Palm Springs pride weekend.

Our first night, we were getting into bed when we found dried blood spots on the sheets, we called the front desk and they came to take pictures and brought new bedding, he was apologetic and i understand these things happen. I was most looking forward to our afternoon massage. I love spas and have been to quite a few over the years.. The spa was extremely disappointing, there were no amenities (no steam, no sauna in the spa) the robes were thin and very small, with only one size of slippers. Unfortunately neither of these fit my husband. In the waiting room, there was only room temp water bottles, no tea, no snacks. I booked a 60 minute deep tissue arnica massage. During the treatment my masseuse kept moving around, and like would rub for a minute or two then pause to fiddle around with something, it was distracting. I booked an add on (15 minutes) to have a longer foot massage but she thought it was a scalp treatment, so when it came to that part of the massage, she poured oil on my scalp, I reminded her that I booked an extra foot massage, she said I was wrong, only to admit a couple minutes later that she confused me with another client.. she then went to get supplies, then gave me a foot scrub instead of a longer foot massage, all these mishaps and we still ended exactly on time (75 minutes), I wasn't really sure what to say, straight after the massage you sign the receipt for the charge of service plus 20% tip. We liked how they offered the juice on the side so you had the freedom to pour as much juice as you’d like. Often times other places pour the juice in the champagne and it ends up tasting more strongly of juice than champagne. Also a good variety of beers & other cocktails. Highlights of the visit were definitely the friendly and attentive service! I regret not getting our server’s name again because I feel their recommendations really enhanced our experience! The bed was comfortable but the air conditioner was kinda noisy. Overall I still liked the hotel and enjoyed the old skool vibe to it. The pool was good and had a bar and even a DJ on certain days. On Friday nights they even play a movie in the pool area. The pool also needs some repairs since I noticed many tiles missing or broken along the water line. I would still recommend coming here if the price is right and I would definitely come back to stay. We also booked a couples massage at the Sante Spa which is located at the hotel. Our massage was good and the facility was nice but unfortunately they had no working saunas, so we were slightly disappointed about that. They did give us a card for a couple free cocktails which was nice.

The texting service with the front hotel staff is also great because I don't have to call a number to get ahold of someone. I also want to shoutout all the valet staff. So, I sat outside to eat with a bunch of others and then we all ended up leaving. There was a dog in the conference room which I don't think was appropriate while people were eating their food. Some of the stairways between floors needed to be vacuumed. The housekeeping staff for the lobby restroom was superior!

Most times I stay at hotels you have to request a King Size bed. Sadly I was working all 6 days I was in Palm Springs, so I didn't get a chance to enjoy the beautiful pool area or the rest of the resort. Came here for a whimsical last minute anniversary get away over labor day weekend. Saw this old property was redone by the Sparrow people. Used to come here back in the day to the old Villa Royale restaurant which was cooky but never considered staying here. The whole space was very lovingly redone and modernized without losing the charm. The rooms are all pretty different, ranging from a whole apartment set up to little motel style rooms. We stayed at a bigger room in the back with a patio. My recommendation is to get the more expensive room if the price difference is reasonable. It's very obvious that they take customer happiness seriously and bend over backward to accommodate high-maintenance guests. The free continental breakfast was very respectable and you can walk to Koffi or Elmer's. The common spaces were all very thoughtful and well maintained. Room service was really good, we ate two meals pool side and they were both yummy and not overly expensive. I guess the last thing to note is that they promote calm and quiet (and don't allow kids which is amazing!) But there is still a social element because of the lay out. Like, our next door neighbors sat in the lounge chairs directly in front of our room and chit chatted the night away and we were like "?" but what can you do but roll with it.
