I love the peaceful little trail that winds through the tall grass. It is the perfect escape from the city without having to go far. They had a performer that put on a fire show and he was such a funny guy. The snow maze and the sculptures inside it was so much fun to walk through. The ice bar was amazing to see. I recommend buying the pass if you are going more than twice. My husband and I did the tubing and it was a blast. The have some food shortly after the entrance with some hot food items which was good on a cold day or a mild day like we had. We went on the last weekend but recommend coming here next year. We bought tickets at the door because we weren’t sure we would make it if the weather was bad. If you buy your tickets online, you will get in faster. It was affordable to do and a blast for folks for all ages. I can’t believe I have been travelling to Winnipeg for so many years and never heard of this place. You must go check this out!

Very romantic park setting and scenic along the Red River. In the summer, we took the guided boat tour which is inexpensive and about 90 minutes long. You'll see numerous musical shows on weekends. Temperatures that summer in July were about 82 degrees Fahrenheit. In the winter in November and March when it was 14 degrees (which is considered balmy here), the area which usually has events becomes an ice-skating rink and there's a small makeshift hockey rink across from it. The Forks Market was a pleasant surprise. Every lunch and dinner location we tried was delicious and fairly priced. The BEST croissants I've ever tasted are at the Tall Grass Prairie Bakery. Don't let the long line scare you as you'll be served within minutes. In my most recent stay, I was at the Inn at the Forks. It's very pricey, but worth it to get a great scenic view in the morning and is in the heart of the park. It's only a 15-20 minute walk to downtown Winnipeg. On a negative note, on my last night in 2020, I took some souvenir photos at midnight along the scenic river and was followed all the way back to the hotel by a meth addict who thought I was taking photos of him and yelling at me. I had to kick the guy out of the hotel as no one from the front desk wanted to get involved or call police. Sadly, there were some high profile events in 2022 of folks being beaten, stabbed and robbed in the Forks...and this occurred in daylight. I hope they will add cameras in the park that were lacking when I was last there. Because of the growing drug and crime issue in the area, I was going to give it a 4 star review instead of a 5. Hopefully, law enforcement will beef up their presence here because it really is a BEAUTIFUL place to be, regarding of the season. I hope the Forks will give you the same enjoyment and positive memories that it gave me and will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart!

Honestly, the whole experience has gone down hill and the price is getting more and more steep. This is my 4th visit over the years, use to be way better. When we first arrived 5 p.m. check in, went to the men’s locker room it was INSANELY busy, packed where we had to stand there for 10 minutes to get to our locker area where guys had to change in front of another, shoulder to shoulder, it’s worse then a gym’s locker room…they clearly need to expand the area for the volume of people. When we finally got to the pool areas it was pretty packed too but manageable. Other areas of the experience were packed and busy too but tapered off in the evening thankfully. We went to the restaurant for dinner the food and service was fantastic. We got a great view upstairs near the fireplace. Portions were huge too. Our server she was amazing. Me and my partner stayed till close we went through the whole experience which was nice but near the end of it, it turned upside down as I tried to order a beer just after 9 p.m. for the poolside at the bar they refused to serve me as it was apparently to late… to pour a beer lol. Then on top of that two staff members were rude to me, laughed at me, then walked me out of the bar to get me out of there. I went to customer service right after that as I was upset they listened, took my information, and the manager offered me 25% off my visit which was a nice gesture. However, the bar staff the way they treated me (the paying customer) is unacceptable and should be reviewed. We still had an okay experience… the resto, pools saved the review but Thermea definitely needs to improve in some areas.

It can get overwhelming not being able to rest in the pool without being very close to someone else when you are trying to relax. After asking my mother in law about her experience in the rooms I was not able to enter she told me she did not enjoy it much either as the space was crammed and she though everything was too overcrowded and she felt it was not very hygienic, that is unfortunate because it was her birthday and she came from abroad I really wanted her to enjoy the place. We had to wait in turn to access our lockers as they were full. The whole experience is not very pregnancy friendly most rooms are off limits to pregnant women due to safety concerns, the pool, beach and meditation rooms were enjoyable. The people working the pizza shack are very professional and friendly, the food was really good! Would I want to visit again? (Transactions on my credit card were posted on the Monday as well) I'm pretty surprised at the lack of customer service I received, from Saturday to Thursday that's only 5 days not a full week, and the slow processing of my order online just adds more irritation to this whole ordeal. The biggest thing is that I now have to pay a much larger sum of money than I had originally intended. My girlfriend loves Thermea and likes to go on a yearly basis. Rented the ice bikes for me and my 13yr old and had an absolute blast touring down the river trail. Also rented the ice trikes which are a whole other type of adventure.
