We went there today, 7/18, for their fairy garden workshop. I wasn’t able to catch his name, my family and I were running a bit late at the beginning, but he did wonderful running the workshop! Our group included seven adults, a 3-year-old, and an 11-month-old—and we were all able to get in for just $150. Such a great value for a full day of fun, especially with our extended family joining us. The zoo itself is beautiful, clean, and impressively large—we didn’t even make it through the whole thing before it was time for nap time! We especially appreciated the interactive stations set up throughout the park, where friendly zoo staff shared info about the animals and let us touch things like a real zebra pelt. It was a great way to keep everyone, kids and adults alike, engaged and learning. The variety of animals was wonderful, and we were happy to see the animals in large, thoughtfully designed enclosures. My son was completely captivated by an ostrich that followed us along the fence—definitely his favorite moment of the day! I personally loved watching the red pandas—they were so fun to see up close. While we didn’t eat lunch at the zoo, we saw plenty of people enjoying generous portions, and I have to say—the chicken tenders looked surprisingly good (and I don't usually say that about zoo food!). We also noticed a few spots offering adult beverages throughout the park, which was a nice bonus for a relaxing stroll. There were also plenty of fun photo opportunities scattered around the zoo, which made for great memories and some adorable family pics. All in all, we had a fantastic visit and would definitely recommend the OKC Zoo to anyone looking for a fun, family-friendly adventure!

The entire park has a western theme. There is a quick western show on the main plaza about 15min before rope drop & they have a decent stunt show with the same actors a few times a day. Every employee I ran into seemed to be enjoying their time working. There are also great walking trails/sidewalks all around the lake here. We walked out around the pier and down to the shore. Thousands of seashells to look at. There we’re lots of tiny, flying gnats that were super annoying that would swarm right around our faces, but those were only a problem down by the water. What else? Oh, very dog-friendly.
