The food is just aesthetic but the flavors are just not there. We asked for the pancakes which were extremely dry as if they were from two days ago, the acai bowl is really not it, and the same with the red velvet cake very very dry. Plus not even the drinks made the cut. I have always been a fan of Negra near Casa da Música so I was surprised with the contrast between these two. This one just feels dry. I came here after the renovations expecting better but it was still the same and I was very disappointed. Went to both Early and Later (their evening menu) off of a Reddit recommendation, and it has been the food highlight of our trip so far. We loved how experimental the food was, both for their food and their drinks. Unter dem Strich ist das Hotel für ein langes Wochenende ok, jedoch war das Zimmer einfach zu klein, und das Frühstück unter einem Mindeststandard, auch wenn es nur ein 3 Sterne Hotel ist. Late check in was efficient and nice, our bell boy was super polite. We were stunned by being in such a historic place, and pleased that facilities were fully functional and luxurious. The door way was small then it opens up. Beautiful public rooms which have beautiful seating which we used having our last drink from the bar. Beautiful cocktail's made freshly. You are charged for the coffees you use 1.25 a euro each, down size no milk and very small cups. Breakfast was buffet style, nice choice all hot and freshly renewed as required. Attentive staff. Would recommend this hotel, positioned well for the market which is a must to go to. Lovely restaurants and cafes nearby .It is about a 20 minute walk up from the river. Restaurants would recommend the one opposite . Can't remember the full name but it is a green restaurant. Busy, self service, cakes in the front then opens up to a big restaurant. Good choice on menu of meat, fish and vegetarian. Food delicious and we had a very tasty wine and all was reasonably priced.
