Service was prompt but I guess things might get a bit messy and slower when it's full house and the tables aren't spaced out too widely from one another. For us, level 1 was acceptable - not unbearable but still had a nice kick. There were also quite a lot of seafood ingredients in the jjampong. As for the jjajangmyeon, while I thought that the sauce was quite good, the noodles were a bit overdone and mushy in my opinion and it would have been good to have a bit more meat and onions in the sauce. The sweet jjajang is also a somewhat acquired taste so there might be some who might not like this sweetness with the savoury noodles. The kkanpunggi was crunchy and went pretty well with the sauce. It's just that you probably need to eat this soon after it is served because once it turns cold in the air-conditioned environment, it gets too hard to chew and the flavour changes. One important thing to note, the dish portions are huge so do factor this into consideration when ordering. While the set was definitely more worth it rather than ordering these dishes ala carte, it was just too much for two to finish.

If you like spicy food, this is a must-try, and you can probably go for a higher level since it’s quite manageable. The jjajangmyeon was decent, though a bit too mild for me. I’ve had better ones elsewhere, but it’s still easy to finish since it doesn’t get too gelak. Their tangsuyuk was pretty good too. It was nicely fried, and the sweet and sour sauce was refreshing, not overly sweet, with a hint of citrus from the dried fruits. But is it the best so far I had in my short life? No. But in Singapore, is it one of the better places? Yes, absolutely. Most places sucks and doesn't know how to do right, but itaewon has been pretty consistent and open to feedback. What do i recommend? Set B, because the way they fry their pork isnt what i fancy. The chicken one is much nicer, crispy, and generally better. The fried pork, they seemed to be using v watered down potato starch, which kind of makes the fried coating too fluffy and light, but its just my preference. But one thing for sure, between the jjajangmyeon and jjampong. The jjampong is what I believe they are truly good at compared to other shops. For the black bean noodle, I'd say is good but there are strong competitors out there. Usually a couple can order a set or if you feel like you want to try more food, please take note you will definitely need to dabao the rest since you wont be able to finish.

We ordered the cold bibim beef broth noodle and the spicy pork, and both dishes were outstanding. The cold noodles were refreshing and full of flavor, perfect for balancing out the richness of the spicy pork. But the highlight of the meal was definitely the spicy pork. It was absolutely heavenly – tender, juicy, and packed with just the right amount of spice that kept me wanting more with every bite. Another thing I really loved was the portion size. The servings were huge, definitely worth the price, and great for sharing if you’re dining with family or friends. The banchan (side dishes) were also a treat. Each one was tasty on its own and complemented the main dishes perfectly, adding variety and balance to the meal. As we did not make a reservation, there was a wait however the lady boss who was managing the tables really did well by keeping us engaged and waiting on by regularly checking in on us. Banchan was decent, what’s amazing is that they have a wide variety, most places give about 5? There were 10 banchan here. Taste wise was decent, nothing wow but still it was a great feeling. Had the beef short rib soup, beef short rib BBQ, beef bulgogi (a lot of beef I know) and stir fried spicy pork with vegetables. The soup was nice and it had a beefy smell and taste, however it was a little too beefy for me. One amazing thing to note was how the meat usually in soups tend to be rock hard, however the meat here was so tender it fell off the bone! BBQ Beef was nice too, they left the salty seasoning off on the side so you have a choice . The meat was cooked to our choice of medium rare which was great. For the price it was fair. Beef bulgogi and spicy pork was great with your average taste on how it should taste like. Overall I really enjoyed my dinner here but it would be hard for me to give full marks 5 stars for food as I felt there was no wow factor but make no mistake this is a very capable Korean restaurant!

This restaurant has been a neighbourhood stalwart for many years and I really hope they survive the onslaught of the hyper-marketed and soulless franchised eateries that have infested Serangoon Gardens and other parts of Singapore.

The jajangmyeon was still as good but the jjampong is stick lacking the wok hey taste and soup base was thin. We prefer the thicker soup base. Must order their tangsyurou as it's really sooo 👍. We opted for their Vegan Jjajangmyeon since its available when we patronized them. We had their raw crab set for dinner which was a fantastic deal - four crabs (soy or spicy), rice, soup and kimchi pancake. Added corn cheese and makgeolli, and walked out super stuffed. Their Banchan was one of the best I’ve had, specifically the mashed potato haha. Make a reservation prior as it fills up pretty quickly. There is a dining timing to adhere too but the staff didn’t push or chase us away incessantly which I appreciated.
